To eat a whole pizza?!

Was talking to my Mum about pizza. When we buy a frozen one from the shop, we will sit down say on a Friday night and eat a whole one each no problem. My Mum thinks that's piggish as she has about three slices 🥴

I have a small thin crust one. Usually I eat half of it, so 2 slices for a meal.

DIshedUp · 06/05/2021 22:20

One supermarket pizza would feed me and my 6 DC for the entire week! With a massive salad of course and piles of veg Grin

In reality I could easily polish off a supermarket pizza, probably 2 if I put my mind to it

Overthebow · 06/05/2021 22:23

Either a whole pizza each or half a pizza plus garlic bread and salad. I often add extra toppings to the supermarket ones too.

I once went to a slim person’s house for lunch. There was one frozen pizza between 3 adults and 3 children. There was a few bits like cherry tomatoes, hummus and breadsticks. I was nearly weeping with hunger. Mind you, that’s why she is very slim and I’m not.
I was going to say that's not enough for 3 adults, didn't even see the 3 children at first! who serves that tiny amount to guests?
ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 06/05/2021 22:26

People who competitively undereat are boring

And people who lecture other people about their food intake are annoying as hell

Fwiw I eat a whole pizza easily. It’s about 1000 cals, which is a decent amount for 1 meal if you burn about 2500-3000 cals a day

bettertimesarecomingnow · 06/05/2021 22:29

Hmm I can only eat 3 slices of pizza but then I don't have a big appetite

cushioncovers · 06/05/2021 22:32

A typical large domino's type pizza I eat 5-6 slices.

MrsPnut · 06/05/2021 22:32

I’d buy enough for one each if they are supermarket but I can never finish mine. I just don’t like pizza enough.
Our takeaway does a 9” pizza which I can usually eat half of with their homemade coleslaw. DH buys the dustbin lid size and DD has the12” option.

Overthebow · 06/05/2021 22:32

Also surely the number of slices someone can eat depends on the slice size. Personally I only eat one slice for dinner, if the slice is the whole pizza!

Draineddraineddrained · 06/05/2021 22:36

Off topic really but my other half has devoted himself to making really great homemade pizzas - proper bases, homemade tomato sauce, posh mozzarella etc. Uses a pizza stone and everything (we do have one each incidentally).

They're delicious... But... I really crave a dirty Chicago Town stuffed crust frozen pizza, dripping with saturated fats and piled high with cheap and nasty cheese 🤤 haven't the heart to tell him!

Definately · 06/05/2021 22:38

See the problem with Chicago town pizzas! You need a baking tray to cook them but I never have a baking tray big enough to encompass the entire pizza. So I don't buy them but they are delicious!

This reminds me of the Brad & Jen video where he asks if she'd prefer a medium pizza cut into 8 slices, or a medium into 12. She picks 8 cause 12 would be too much for her, then can't understand why he's laughing
CorianderBee · 06/05/2021 22:50

I think it's fine. I've definitely eaten a whole one and we've definitely shared one before. Depends how hungry I am.

I find the appetite sometimes decreases with age and people seem to forget they didn't always eat so little.

That's just rude tbh. I'm a size 8 so hardly big and I'd still want 2-3 slices for a meal.
CorianderBee · 06/05/2021 22:53

Minimum

getyourfreakon · 06/05/2021 22:55

I used to be able to eat a whole one, I'm jealous Grin fill your boots!

SoMuchForSummerLove · 06/05/2021 22:56

I feel your pain. My mum eats half a banana for breakfast and keeps the other half for tomorrow Confused

MinnieJackson · 06/05/2021 23:09

I agree.with.@Feather12 they are mostly horrible, so much sauce! It's like lava Grin

Flittingaboutagain · 06/05/2021 23:10

I had a frozen pizza express one to myself tonight. Quite happily!

Sweetmotherofallthatisholyabov · 06/05/2021 23:10

This thread has ruined pizza for me. I've just looked up the nutritional information of a goodfellas deep pan cheesy pizza. It's more than 2,000 calories. I'll never be able to eat the full thing without a bloody dose of guilt now. FFS. Not to mention the can of coke that washes it down.

3JsMa · 06/05/2021 23:15

YANBU,especially if it has stuffed crust.

iklboo · 06/05/2021 23:29

I can go full out Gollum on posh crisps as well. The big bags. They're MINE! MINE I tell you! With crusty bread, pate, cheese, pickled onions, some kind of meat like salami, pastrami, ham, prosciutto, chorizo etc. But no olives. Olives are evil.

HowWeAre · 06/05/2021 23:34

I would absolutely never share a supermarket pizza and haven’t done from being a teenager 😂

I only share pizza if we’re getting something like Papa Johns with sides, but even then we sometimes get a large one each! (Mine lasts two days DP eats his in one go)

BurbageBrook · 06/05/2021 23:35

God no I could only manage about 3 slices! unless I had the munchies I guess technically I could force more down but I get bored eating just one thing. I could eat chips or whatever alongside though.

Whydidimarryhim · 06/05/2021 23:38

I’ve just eaten a pizza express polka d’astra to myself.
Thankfully my son doesn’t like them so all for me. 😀
