In a liberal democracy there’s room for all sorts of opinions, including those. I don’t agree with them but fair play to them for putting their case forward and people can choose to vote for them or not. 🤷🏻♀️ I hate the demonising of people for holding different political views.
I agree. We have to stop shutting people down. Just because people don't hold views held by the mainstream, doesn't mean that they can't express those views. There are a few things like denying the Holocaust, which is so vile that nobody wants to hear it, but we know full well that there are many people out there who oppose assisted suicide and abortion on demand (not that it is on demand in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK).
People would shut me down for saying that biological sex and gender identity are not the same.
Similarly, if we'd not shut down everyone who was worried about immigration by calling them racist, we might still be in the EU.
These views aren't ones I share, but people are allowed to express them. It's not like the majority agrees with them and I disagree that they are dangerous.
