I do think the railway can be sexist, generally speaking. It just seems like an outdated industry
Eg once was on a train and the guard kept making silly, very long announcements. Eg “Costa del Coventry”. He started a spiel about masks and how “masks rubbing your makeup off isn’t an excuse not to wear one”. I looked around and the only people not wearing masks were random men drinking alcohol at 9am. Funny how he never accurately targeted men in his speech, only non-existent silly women, to get a few giggles out of said men.
Also once a train was delayed and I went into the waiting room to ask the lady at the desk what was going on. She wasn’t even aware a 30 minute late train hadn’t arrived at the station yet??? So I bought this to her attention. Yet as soon as a man walked in asking her the same question, she immediately directed all her responses/eye contact to him. Like he was more worthy of her time and I suddenly became invisible
