How many loo rolls do you get through a week

Am I being unreasonable asking the above question.

I've just switched to a more expensive brand than my usual brand but it is more eco friendly. While working out if it is financially viable I was wondering how much loo roll everyone else goes through ?

No idea tbh. There's 3 toilets in the house. Depends how many sheets are on the roll too. The cheeky panda stuff I have just now has about 40 more sheets per roll than the asda stuff I was using so it lasts longer

Lolwhat · 23/04/2021 16:26

4/5 a week for 2 of us

dementedpixie · 23/04/2021 16:29

@Roominmyhouse

I think about 2/3 a week. I get the cheeky panda bamboo toilet roll in bulk from Amazon and the box of 24 lasts us about 2.5 months. Only 2 adults but both wfh so here all day everyday at the moment!
I got mine on a groupon deal so get 45 rolls I think. They do last longer than the stuff I was using before

@PattyPan

I always think the 'one sheet for a wee and two for a poo' crowd are either toilet trolls or have very dirty smelly underwear by the end of the day.

I agree one sheet for a wee sounds extreme but I don’t think 2 for a poo is - mine almost always come out without leaving a trace so I can use one sheet just to confirm there’s nothing there iyswim. (And I go 1-2x a day).

I sense your being a little boastful about your miracle poos @PattyPan but this is actually a sign of quite a high fat diet, hence is slides in out ‘without a trace’. FYI.
Onairjunkie · 23/04/2021 16:32

You’re*

PattyPan · 23/04/2021 16:40

@Onairjunkie not at all, just saying it’s not necessarily a sign of poor wiping skills! My diet is actually very low in fat - I’m vegan and don’t cook with oil. I think it’s about the position you take as well - I’ve heard a lot of people swear by squatty potties which are basically like a step in front of the toilet bowl to put your feet on while you go, because a squat position opens your bowels better.

Onairjunkie · 23/04/2021 16:42

@PattyPan you might be high in unsaturated fats. Do you eat a lot of avocado? Grin

PattyPan · 23/04/2021 16:44

@Onairjunkie I eat avocado every couple of weeks? And nuts every couple of days, I’ve been trying to eat up the stash we still have left after Christmas socialising was cancelled

rainbowandglitter · 23/04/2021 17:02

My poo slips out without a trace too and I don't have a high fat diet at all. Mine have always been this way regardless of how my diet is at the time.

PandemicAtTheDisco · 23/04/2021 17:12

I think we should all be investing in bidets/bidet hoses.

I use a squatting stool/step which helps poo exit less messily and needs less toilet paper.

I have piles and heavy periods so sometimes I need to use lots of paper.

RJnomore1 · 23/04/2021 17:12

Who the fuck are the clatty bastards that ‘wipe to beige’?

It must be those men who are always scratching their arses in public. Explains a lot 🤢

JaninaDuszejko · 23/04/2021 19:13

I wonder how many years you need to have a bidet or bidet hose before it's less environmentally damaging than using more toilet paper. If you use a bidet do you dry yourself with toilet paper or with a towel?

opinionminion · 23/04/2021 19:31

X1 roll per bottom Grin

opinionminion · 23/04/2021 19:32

Per week !

RoseMartha · 23/04/2021 19:34

Less since I started buying a more expensive one, more expensive loo roll seems is better value for money in long run.

Evvyjb · 23/04/2021 20:00

2 adults here- maybe 1/2 a week. We bought a who gives a crap box last March and it lasted until Xmas!

I use toilet paper to dry but need a lot less with the bum gun.
bridgetreilly · 23/04/2021 20:41

1-1.5 per person per week. More if I’m on my period.

Cottagepieandpeas · 24/04/2021 15:57

Just read about these people nakedsprout.uk/

You can order a 96 pack Smile

qualitygirl · 24/04/2021 16:01

I have no idea I don't keep count

tatoowooo · 24/04/2021 16:04

Do ppl really take note of this? Confused it has never crossed my mind to do that...

doctorhamster · 24/04/2021 16:06

Hard to be exact because we have 4 toilets in the house. I buy a pack of 9 every week but we don't get through them all in a week. 6 a week between 4 of us maybe.

rabbitheadlights · 24/04/2021 16:24

12, there are 9 of us though and DD4 and DS5 use lots!

Indeed.

There is some middle ground between using a postage stamp's worth of paper and forest's worth.

A PP said 2 rolls per day between 5 of them - so 14 rolls per week. At 200 sheets per roll that's 2800 sheets, so over 550 sheets per week each.

Surely no one without medical conditions really needs 550 sheets of toilet roll per week?

SeventyEleven · 24/04/2021 16:35

Electronic bidet. Shataff...??? Bum Gun??????!!! We use about 100 toilet rolls a week so I think I need to Google these items.
