I'm looking to get a new car have looked at the Peugeot 2008 and Nissan qashqai and possibly the vw tiguan (although that's a bit more pricey for decent reg) my budget is 11k. What cars do you have and how reliable would you say it is?

I just bought a 69 reg Dacia Duster 1.3 Comfort for under £11k rather than go for an older different car for the same price

(I think) it looks good. Massive boot space. Lots of room inside. ULEZ compliant (if that matters). Decent reviews. Feels like it's built like a brick shithouse. But overall size (length/width not height) apparently the same as a Focus

@Elai1978

Sorry, but I really disagree about your opinion of the acceleration. Maybe the older 1.3 but the new ones have 160bhp and are pretty quick off the line and when overtaking etc.

A 0-62 time of 10.2 seconds says otherwise. It couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding. Slow as fuck!

Grin quite. I suppose it’s faster than walking, at least.

I have a Landrover Discovery Sport, best car ever. Oh and according to MN, I'm allowed to have one as I live rurally, have horses and dogs and get stuck in mud and snow....woe betide you if your lifestyle doesn't include these things (haven't RTFT) Grin

Peugeot 2008 is quite small boot space. Peugeot 3008 is better lots of boot space and great features.

I have a VW Tiguan and wouldn't recommend it.
I am actually starting to hate it.

It is so needy.
Always lights on the dashboard, the start stop button is temperamental and I just think it is massively overrated.

Dacia duster is a good suggestion, I currently have a Dacia Logan and am looking to treat myself to a duster after 80k very cheap motoring in Daisy the Dacia! No issues, runs on fresh air (80mpg) other than tyres here and there and servicing at my local garage I’ve had nothing else crop up. You could get a much newer duster for your money than anything else!

Good luck with the engine oil contamination from the DPF when using it for short runs. Engine goes pop, Land Rover don't want to know, five figure bill awaits you.

I seriousness all that for a bit of image.. you could easily own a dozen other cheaper cars that would do the job better and not break
