Fantasising about a fictional character!!

I need your help and to know if I am a complete lunatic and BVU or if this is something that happens to other people.

I have always had a very overactive imagination and have a tendancy to daydream but this is the first time (in adulthood anyway) that I have developed a full on obsession with a fictional character. Not the actor who plays this character, but the character himself! Last night I found myself googling this character and falling into the rabbit hole of the Internet and finding reams of erotic fan fiction. I am ashamed to say I found myself still awake at 2am after reading through tons these short stories call me niave but I had no idea this stuff existed before! I feel such a dork!

Am I abnormal? What does this say about this verging on middle-aged married mother? My marriage and sex life are good, I love my husband and find him very attractive, I don't feel depressed or lonely. What is going on?!

I’ve written for for the last 25 years got me through depression on more than one occasion, my fics are very special to me , today they I have no sex life my crushes give me that.

Both! Although film Edward mostly only from Breaking Dawn. I've loved him for so long but when the book from his point of view came out last year it started me off again!

@Bang4Bond there is a large number of characters you can get them from if you on etsy. For me personally I got one from Levi Ackerman a character in a anime I watch called Attack on Titant.

@Bang4Bond that to be honest I am not totally sure of why I bought it. Like I said I love my partner with all my heart, I am happy etc. I would be just as happy about the letter if it was addressed to someone else other then me and I just got the privilege of reading it. I don't know why other people would buy one but for me it's one letter I get that is not a bill, junk mail or a charity writing to me if I could at all increase my monthly donation.

If it's why I developed this school girl crush on this character... I guess he is seen as a very cool character and has a large female fan base. He is completely character wise the opposite of what I am attracted too and if I did know someone like him I would probably find them rude and intimidating 🤣😂🤣

And yes, not only do I read the erotic fan fiction but I write it too.

Oh, and I’ve written and published a whole book around a character of my own that I originally created for a short story contest, and fell so in love with that I simply had to include him in a full length novel.

Mine is Gene Hunt (nods to *@VienneseWhirligig*). I really don't know what it is, but he makes my heart go a flutter . I'm a feminist at heart so he goes against every gene (hah!) in my body to find him attractive! It is definitely the character and not the actor too!

We always want to make the bad guys good by our wonderful personality but once they become good I think we'd find them boring!
