AIBU to be annoyed by message about washing my car

Neighbour has sent me a (second) message asking us when we’re going to wash our car. We ignored the first message.

It’s not muddy or dirty. The alloys are still silver. It’s just dusty because car washes have been closed for months. They’re good neighbours otherwise. AIBU to be irritated and to think I can decide when I want to wash my own car that’s doing nothing to them except sitting outside on the public road (and it’s not parked in front of their house, it’s parked in front of ours).

Write 'if you think my car is dirty you should see my husband' on the boot.

Car washes aren’t open? Have you heard of a bucket and sponge ;)

But very cheeky of your neighbours. Maybe you should wash the side that faces your house, and leave the side that faces their house filthy.

My neighbours once collared us as we were setting out on our bikes and said, oh such a lovely day isn't it, to do your garden 🤣 it needed mowing but wasn't too bad! Much prefer a family bike ride, thanks!

They sound like our neighbour. Kept trying to get us to do things his way. I sent him a fairly blunt but polite note years ago and he stopped. Also stopped speaking to me, but is lovely and civil to DH. (Funny how it was always me he cornered and nagged, not my 6'2" husband Hmm )

I’d also to reply to let them know that they have sent this to you “by mistake”.
My car only gets washed about twice a year, and one of those times is in heavy rain when I dash out and chuck some car shampoo on the roof!

Omg! They'd better be grateful they live near us, ours get done about once a year! Although some of our neighbours are obsessed I think, they seem to wash cars that I would call clean all the time!

A message like that would prompt me to leave it as long as possible Grin

"I'll clean it when I want you nosey fuckers!' - in caps of course Wink
