Yes. One against. The ghastly Hawley who says he voted against because it's against free speech.
Ahhh... rightio... hate speech should be allowed got yer...

Just as a reminder....

Can you believe it. A year ago today 'the previous one' suggested injecting bleach into your body to counteract covid.
Doesn't time fly!

Talking about free speech, what about this gem

Free Speech Union's Emma Webb says banning taking the knee for BLM at the Tokyo Olympics is the right decision.

"The majority of people support banning taking the knee. It is divisive and doesn’t have much to do with kicking racism out of sport."

lionheart, that link re Greene's attack on AOC's Green New Deal... Shock

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls AOC a ‘scared little girl’ as she badgers her to debate Green New Deal
www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-aoc-stupid-b1836169.html
On Thursday – Earth Day – Ms Greene continued her assault on the plan.
“We’re going to debate. She asked me if I had read her 14-page Green New Deal,” she said in her video. “I said I’ve read some of it. And she said, ‘Well, when you’ve read all of it, then you can challenge me to a debate.’”

Sooo... it's all of 14 pages long and Greene has been vocally criticising it... but she hadn't actually read it? Erm... ShockGrin

A man has been accused of taking part in the US Capitol riots after allegedly boasting about it on a dating app.
Robert Chapman, from New York, told a user he matched with on the dating app Bumble "I did storm the Capitol", FBI court filings say.
They replied "we are not a match", and shared a screenshot of the exchange with authorities.
Mr Chapman was arrested and charged in New York on Thursday, media reports say.

I like the reply Grin

lionheart · 23/04/2021 14:39

'We are not a match,' works in so many contexts. Smile

Jenner, a trans woman, "is very socially liberal,” the adviser said. "She's running as someone that's socially liberal and fiscally conservative."

What does dat even mean? Confused

www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-economy/

On Thursday, writing for The Washington Post, David Lynch noted that former President Donald Trump's dire predictions that "you will have a depression the likes of which you've never seen" if Joe Biden is elected, but the economy is soaring — and Republicans are struggling to adapt their economic message to the new reality.

"By Trump's preferred metric — the stock market — Biden is outperforming his predecessor at this stage of his presidency. Last summer, the Republican said stock values would 'collapse' under Biden. But through Thursday, the Dow Jones industrial average was up nearly 16 percent since Nov. 7, when the Democrat was declared the apparent election winner, compared with a 10.5 percent gain over a similar period following Trump's election."

I bet they're so pissed off

Jenner, a trans woman, "is very socially liberal,” the adviser said. "She's running as someone that's socially liberal and fiscally conservative."

It means “you can do whatever you like so long as you have lots of money”.

And then there is this: "I think that Caitlyn will talk to anyone, Democrat or Republican."

And promise them anything? After all .... politician ... GOP....

pointythings · 23/04/2021 18:18

@prettybird

I wonder if that will influence Biden's commission looking into the size of the Supreme Court?
I really bloody hope it does. The court needs to be stacked against this sort of thing, and then they need to introduce maximum terms of service. The SCOTUS is not fit for purpose in its present format.

abcnews.go.com/US/chauvins-conviction-floyd-murder-doj-weighs-charging-2017/story?id=77254006

'Late last year, as a team of Minnesota state prosecutors was preparing for the trial that would ultimately convict former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin of murdering George Floyd, they received a series of videos depicting Chauvin's handling of another case three years earlier that by their own description shocked them.

The videos, from Sept. 4, 2017, allegedly showed Chauvin striking a Black teenager in the head so hard that the boy needed stitches, then allegedly holding the boy down with his knee for nearly 17 minutes, and allegedly ignoring complaints from the boy that he couldn't breathe.'

The Arizona audit getting off to a predictably farcical start.

So... the people "auditing" Arizona's 2020 election are using pens that could be used to change the appearance of ballots that were cast in November.

thehill.com/homenews/campaign/549974-city-of-albuquerque-refers-211k-trump-campaign-bill-to-collection-agency

The city of Albuquerque has referred a $211,175.94 bill for former President Trump's reelection campaign rally in 2019 to a professional debt collection agency.

The outstanding invoice has remained unpaid since the event in nearby Rio Rancho. City officials covered the security costs of the then-president's stay at a downtown Albuquerque hotel, The Albuquerque Journal reported Thursday.
........
A spokeswoman for the city of Rio Rancho - where Trump actually hosted the rally - said that the campaign "made it clear that they would not reimburse the City for those ancillary costs that occurred outside of the event." The campaign has also not paid Rio Rancho the $239,475 associated with his visit.

Bernalillo County, which also invoiced Trump for the 2019 visit, told the newspaper that the county ultimately wrote off the $139,183.52 unpaid bill as a "bad debt."

Oh yes... the rallies, I'd forgotten them. He started them as soon as he was made POTUS and didn't pay his bills.

Isn't it refreshing to have a President who is Presidenting...

Yes. I also love the re-runs of the Sarah Cooper sketches, a year after Trump 'cured' the virus.
