Inspired by the previous thread.

Where in the UK can you buy a 4 bed, 2 receptions detached house with a garage & garden?

We were all set to put our house on the market last summer to upsize... and then we didn't.

Now there's a huge influx of people from the SE moving here, which has pushed up prices. In a way this is good because our house is worth more but we want to upsize so we would have to take on a larger mortgage than originally planned.

Are there any areas left in the UK where a 4 bed detached is £450k or less?

Gosport/Lee on Solent in Hampshire. Just across the harbour from Portsmouth - by the sea.

We've just bought one for under £400k in Derby.

One of the receptions is the diner part of a kitchen diner, and the 4th bedroom is a small single that we'll be using as a study, but if we'd stretched up to 450 we could have got 4 doubles and a separate dining room, no problem.

@Thedogscollar

Most places in the North of England and probably all of Scotland.
Scotland is catching up to South of England... Because so many people from down south are coming north. Supply and demand. Although in the ex industrial heartlands there are still houses like that for sale, but would you want to live in an estate with no shops, other amenities or schools?

I'm in the Midlands, near Derby. My budget is £220k, and I have seen some 4 bed detached ones in my search. Can certainly get what you want for about £250k here.
