It's doing my head - and my scrolling finger - in.

OP posts:

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum GrinThanks

Fembot123 · 05/04/2021 18:52

Well thanks to @whenthebellsring @EarringsandLipstick and @Sparklingbrook for helping me. I’ll just write ‘Something, something, something, not really!’ Instead of striking through 😂

IsItADHD · 05/04/2021 18:54

@QuentinWinters

I do it to show i appreciate what someone has written, and to give people another chance to read it if they scrolled past. Not going to stop either OP. Grin
This.
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 05/04/2021 18:54

Agree OP. The quote function is not an improvement to the site. At least in the old days when it were all fields round here Wink people had to copy and paste the bit they wanted to quote.
Put some effort in people!

whenthebellsring · 05/04/2021 18:54

That will work but be careful, someone may not like it and we'll have to hear all about it!Grin

whenthebellsring · 05/04/2021 18:55

That was @Fembot123 Posters are quick!

Quirrelsotherface · 05/04/2021 18:55

It's also infuriating when people can't use the highlight feature correctly and you just get two weird lines.

I can pretty much guarantee people will not like it Grin

I think lately posters don't want to put the effort in. They don't want to RTFT whining they haven't got time to read pages. They want a Like button because that will save time too.

No commitment whatsoever. Tsk.

"Like" & "Quote" functions would solve this.

There's already a quote function.
LeonardLikesThisPost · 05/04/2021 19:06

Completely agree OP - I absolutely hate the "this"-ers. Bloody annoying. Especially when they quote an entire MASSIVE post and you start reading it again before realising you have already read the fucker and have to scroll past.

And then someone else feels the need to quote the looooong post again and add their daft little "This."

If you must, I mean, quote a small section and expand on your thoughts on it or something.

Not this
gettingfedupagain · 05/04/2021 19:09

The worst example is when there's a really long OP, and almost immediately there's a first response which quotes the whole OP!!! As if anyone needs reminding what the OP was when no one else has responded yet Hmm

But if 4 posters all press post at the same time theirs might not be the first.

Definitely not this.
likeafishneedsabike · 05/04/2021 19:13

@PurpleWh1teGreen

There's no facility on Mumsnet to like posts though.

Sometimes - actually frequently- a previous posters says what I want to say, but so much more eloquently.

This.
