Do we think the rattan stuff is actually in stock and going to be listed today??

@herecomesthsun

Does anyone have any experience of how durable this stuff is?
We have the garden corner sofa from aldi, we've had it three years and its fine, been left out in all weathers although we put the cushions away for winter
Moonwhite · 04/04/2021 09:50

Funny to think of people being over 100,000 in a queue and still doggedly staying in it. How much stock do you think they will have Grin

RaspberryCoulis · 04/04/2021 09:51

@ChippyDucks150

I've just joined looking for a hot tub. Are they in store in Scotland? Or just online only?
They'd struggle to fit a hot tub into the random aisle of tat, to be fair. And you wouldn't get it into a trolley.
ssd · 04/04/2021 09:51

I got in. There's no garden stuff.

Sparklingbrook · 04/04/2021 09:52

I think Mrs Hinch has a lot to answer for. She used to be sitting in her egg chair all the time, but don't think it was from Aldi-maybe B&M.

Sosocold · 04/04/2021 09:52

I got an egg chair from asda last year, really pleased with it and great value

MrsBungle · 04/04/2021 09:53

Hot tub sold out. I wish they’d added that to their message at the bottom of the queue page.

Carrotsoupispoo · 04/04/2021 09:54

I bought two egg chairs from B and M a couple of weeks ago. Bigger than the Aldi ones with nicer quilted lining and £175 each.

Hope it helps someone

I just had a peek at website

Our Egg Chairs, Rattan Sofas & Patio Heaters have now sold out. We are sorry if you missed out this time, but please check back soon - more stock will be added over the coming weeks. Please note - during busy times order confirmation emails may take a few hours to arrive in your inbox.

ColourMeExhausted · 04/04/2021 09:58

DH went on at 5am Hmm outdoor heater still sold out, he said there were lots of people ahead of him! Madness if you ask me (I told him that too!)

When I joined the queue, there were 120,000 people in front of me. I got in eventually and bought what I wanted. I used the time I was waiting to plan maths lessons.
HettieHelvetica · 04/04/2021 09:58

@gerispringer

You’ll be a long time in the queue as if you are in the U.K. shops are shut today ( Easter Sunday).
@gerispringer nor all UK stores - supermarkets and other shops are open in Scotland.

It's the English/ Welsh Sunday trading laws (I'm unsure of the situation in NI) that prevents store opening South of the border).

RevolvingPivot · 04/04/2021 10:03

I've got 7 minutes left. Doesn't seem much point how.

RevolvingPivot · 04/04/2021 10:03

@Caaarrrl

All these people sneering at those of us who are willing to wait in the queue! My 'waiting' consisted of planning maths lessons on my computer and then checking back on the aldi tab occasionally to see how it was progressing. Some of you might not want to waste your time doing that and that's fine, but I have been waiting for this garden furniture to be on sale again since last year. So, I was willing to wait and see if I could order what I wanted to buy. I am very pleased that I got what I wanted and I will look forward to my delivery. Oh, and as for the comment about Harrod's or Tiffany's, on a teacher's wage I definitely cannot afford to shop there, so being in a virtual queue for those shops would be a waste of time! I can , however, afford Aldi!

Good luck to anyone else who is waiting to buy something.

👍🏻😆
QuiteContraryMarie · 04/04/2021 10:08

Did anyone here actually get an egg chair?

RevolvingPivot · 04/04/2021 10:10

I'm sort of glad I didn't I can just hear the fighting / screaming of my kids not wanting to share. I was even considering two!!!

VaggieMight · 04/04/2021 10:12

I have scanned the thread but I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I love Aldi and have bought 'must have' items before, what is so special today? Is it the egg chair and rattan garden furniture? You can get those items all year from B&M or the Range. I'm not criticising anyone for queuing, just wondering if I am missing something?

PrelovedWithValue · 04/04/2021 10:12

Nice day of rest for a lot of retail staff today

The odd thing is, even with Sunday trading, retail staff in Scotland also get days off. Strange but true!

MythsandSparkles · 04/04/2021 10:12

LOL at all the Scottish posters getting triggered because their shops are open and a poster dared not to know this.

To be honest I think having major retail stores open on Easter Sunday is as bad as allowing them to open on Christmas Day...you guys can do without access to the shops for one day surely? Give your retail staff a break!

Yes but often work bank holidays when it's likely a lot of their family/friends are off. It's nice during a 4 day bank holiday weekend to get a guaranteed day off.
roulade · 04/04/2021 10:15

@Herecomesthesun

I've also had the corner sofa for 3 years and it's still in perfect condition. I bought the cover for it which probably helps. (Also it was only £199 then too):)

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 04/04/2021 10:15

I just want to see a picture of tge stuffSmile

Readthestandingorder · 04/04/2021 10:15

B and M do a wonderful egg chair for £125, all year round. So comfy and no need to queue!

PrelovedWithValue · 04/04/2021 10:17

Easter must be a much bigger deal in England than it is here, then, if it's comparable to Christmas.
