The mahoosive queue has now magically disappeared. Grin

The egg chair is online only, not in stores

Our Egg Chairs, Rattan Sofas & Patio Heaters have now sold out. We are sorry if you missed out this time, but please check back soon - more stock will be added over the coming weeks. Please note - during busy times order confirmation emails may take a few hours to arrive in your inbox.

RaspberryCoulis · 04/04/2021 09:17

@gerispringer

You’ll be a long time in the queue as if you are in the U.K. shops are shut today ( Easter Sunday).
WRONG.

English law says shops close on Easter Sunday in England and Wales.

Many larger stores in Scotland choose to trade as per usual. As I couldn't get into the Aldi website I checked other local supermarkets, Asda and Tesco open 8am to 10pm as usual on a Sunday.

CupoTeap · 04/04/2021 09:19

Still 177991 in front of me 😩

RaspberryCoulis · 04/04/2021 09:19

Just treid Aldi again... Number of users ahead of you in the queue: 184,305. Your estimated wait time: 30 minutes.

Confused
CupoTeap · 04/04/2021 09:20

Does anyone know if it kicks you out after you have checked out, don't want to miss out cause I'm just looking to see what else there is!

As long as you are active in some way it should let you stay on the site. If you add something to the basket it will keep your place even if you don't do anything else, as the reserve system will be running in the background for the 30 mins.
Jbck · 04/04/2021 09:22

@QueenCuntyFlippers

There's no queue now Smile
Just tried for a nosey and was 184k in the queue!
Caaarrrl · 04/04/2021 09:24

I have just bought 2 of the day beds instead of the rattan sofas! That actually makes my happy because I wanted those in the first place, but I was out voted by DH and both adult DDs. They all wanted the rattan ones, but as they were sold out I ended up with the gorgeous wooden day beds that I actually wanted!

islockdownoveryet · 04/04/2021 09:25

I had a look this morning and I’m on the Aldi Facebook , people saying been up all night and still not managed to get a egg chair .
Now don’t get me wrong I’d like a egg chair but I’m not staying up all night nor am I queuing online for a hour either . Utter madness to do so for a bloody chair .

MiaFitz · 04/04/2021 09:29

The CoE bishops in the House of Lords wielded their influence and got Easter Sunday tied down with restrictions so larger shops and garden centres aren’t allowed to open in England. A lovely example of Christian privilege at its finest

That's lovely for people working in shops xxx

nowlook · 04/04/2021 09:29

I've happily joined the queue even though I don't know what they're selling today. Apparently, I'll get onto the website in about 30 minutes, which seems a reasonable wait, perhaps even a little short. I have never felt so British.

chalktheblockwithglitterchalk · 04/04/2021 09:32

Massive virtual queues for aldi of all places is ridiculous. I mean it's aldi, not Harrods or Tiffany's.

BellsaRinging · 04/04/2021 09:36

I wanted the rattan sofas and an egg chair but no luck. Have gone for a day bed...hope it lives up to the hype!

Cannotgarden · 04/04/2021 09:37

Just think of the spiders in an egg chair. You're basically buying a spider's nest to sit in.

Wonder if this will nip my piles....

herecomesthsun · 04/04/2021 09:40

Does anyone have any experience of how durable this stuff is?

Bairnsmum05 · 04/04/2021 09:43

@gerispringer no not all shops in the UK are closed on Easter Sunday, in Scotland shops are still open, they all open on a Sunday and a lot of supermarkets are 24 hours. You might be talking about England?!

Caaarrrl · 04/04/2021 09:43

All these people sneering at those of us who are willing to wait in the queue! My 'waiting' consisted of planning maths lessons on my computer and then checking back on the aldi tab occasionally to see how it was progressing. Some of you might not want to waste your time doing that and that's fine, but I have been waiting for this garden furniture to be on sale again since last year. So, I was willing to wait and see if I could order what I wanted to buy. I am very pleased that I got what I wanted and I will look forward to my delivery. Oh, and as for the comment about Harrod's or Tiffany's, on a teacher's wage I definitely cannot afford to shop there, so being in a virtual queue for those shops would be a waste of time! I can , however, afford Aldi!

Good luck to anyone else who is waiting to buy something.

She is. The Sunday trading laws in England are so 19th century.

ChippyDucks150 · 04/04/2021 09:48

I've just joined looking for a hot tub. Are they in store in Scotland? Or just online only?

expectopelargonium · 04/04/2021 09:48

I think I heard somewhere or other that they have a shortage due to the blockage in the Suez Canal, and that deliveries were delayed.

Sparklingbrook · 04/04/2021 09:49

I quite like the Sunday trading laws in England. Smile Nice day of rest for a lot of retail staff today.
