Mine are :-

Kellogg’s Rise and Shine, a very strange powdered juice drink that we had on special occasions’ instead of actual juice.

Vesta ready meals, particularly the Chow Mein which had crispy noodles on top.

Toast Toppers - weird sludge resembling baby food.

Oh and Boomy lollies - they had 3 fruit shapes on a stick - lemon, strawberry and orange I think!

For the person missing Cartoonies - you get hello panda biscuits in b&m which are almost identical!

RAOK · 27/03/2021 02:28

I loved cremola foam and fiendish feet yoghurts. We had ice magic on top of ice cream cones dyed red and green.

GreenSlide · 27/03/2021 02:33

Remember when you used to get mini pot noodles. I think they were for young children 😬

everythingbackbutyou · 27/03/2021 07:11

A sister drink to Um Bongo, called Moonshine. A limited edition soda stream flavour called Dracula’s Blood. Fizzy Lizzy chewy bars.

FrenchyQ · 27/03/2021 07:29

We had the flan with quickgel but tinned pears were used instead of mandarins.
Rounders ( mince and potato in breadcrumb).
Tinned prawns for Sunday tea
Frozen supermousse.
Tropical Kia-Ora
Moonshine squash
Salmon pate in my sandwiches

worlybear · 27/03/2021 08:08

Sports biscuits and Royal Scot biscuits.
Dripping on toast with salt!

Sterilised milk in the bottles with a beer bottle cap. Very sweet and rather nice with porridge.

That weird "orange juice" you could get via the milkman. Probably not orange juice at all, though it had bits in the bottom. Again in small milk bottles.

Liquorice root, the actual plant.

I remember the orange juice. The bottles were the same size as school milk bottles (one gill=1/4 pint)

Beef dripping on toast

Titan29 · 27/03/2021 19:25

Brilliant question, OP! I remember Angel Delight (the butterscotch one), SodaStream cream soda (used to run home from school to have this!), pink blancmange (my mum had a rabbit-shaped mould for it and I used to hate it, but ate it to be polite!), sugar mice, peaches and evap, fruit salad sweets - it's funny how food can evoke such great memories!

TinkysWinky · 27/03/2021 19:54

I remember our first H.E. lesson at school was toast with one of those grim cans of toast topper on Grin

Pogostickhellride · 27/03/2021 20:27

I used to love chocolate lollipops. They were a hard candy type lolly with a very chocolatey flavour. I have tried all the online sweet shops but can't find them.

My primary school did a rusk biscuit with a blackcurrent jam and whipped cream on top.

notdaddycool · 27/03/2021 21:10

Findus crispy pancakes

TylluanBach · 27/03/2021 21:49

Hedgehog flavoured crisps

ColourMeExhausted · 27/03/2021 21:53

I love this thread!

Pink semolina at school.
He-man jellies (we used to keep the moulded cases they came in).
Um Bongo
A horribly gloopy chicken sauce thing that came in a tin. We always had it when went camping. That and corn beef. Bleurgh.
The mini frozen pizzas that were 10 to a bag.
Smash (never at my house but my friend's family always had it as a treat with aforementioned pizzas and ravioli).

Food (or the choice available) has come a long way...

Octopus37 · 27/03/2021 21:54

I'd forgotten about Quattro. I remember throwing an empty can of it over my back fence and it was still there years later (no I'm not normally a litter bug). I didn't realise it had been banned.

Chupa chups do a chocolate and vanilla lollipop
Molehillfromamountain · 27/03/2021 23:48

Findus crispy pancakes, Freshbake shepherd's pies, tinned meatballs in gravy that resembled dog food, Sara Lee frozen pecan pie.
Fiendish feet I had forgotten all about!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 27/03/2021 23:49

We used to have bags of frozen sticks of cream that mum would get from BeJam before it became Iceland. Just pop a couple in the cream jug in the morning and by lunch time you had a defrosted jug of cream. Or if you were my dad, eat them like lollies straight from the freezer.

Buttered weetabix for breakfast

Bread and butter soldiers dipped in strawberry yoghurt as a post school snack.
