Mine are :-

Kellogg’s Rise and Shine, a very strange powdered juice drink that we had on special occasions’ instead of actual juice.

Vesta ready meals, particularly the Chow Mein which had crispy noodles on top.

Toast Toppers - weird sludge resembling baby food.

We liked Instant Whip. It was a poor man's Angel Delight

And "Nutty Bars" aka strip of toffee with nuts on all sides

Hotcuppatea · 26/03/2021 21:31

UmBongo juice.
Instant semolina
Findus Crispy Pancakes
French bread pizza.

God, we ate some shite.

Avebury · 26/03/2021 21:31

Cartoonies - little round biscuits with chocolate inside

Stevearnottsbeard · 26/03/2021 21:35

@dipswimswoosh
I've talked about tab for years and nobody ever knows what I'm talking about, started to think I'd made it up!!! 😂 😂 😂

callmeH · 26/03/2021 21:37
@SetPhasersTaeMalkie

My mum used to but Bigga marrowfat peas in a packet to soak with the cube of ? Bicarb? that came with it. A lot of faff for something that IMO tasted shite.
Then she wasn't cooking them properly, I buy them when I want to make pea and ham soup or top up my supply of mushy peas. If they're rinsed to get rid of the bicarb taste and cooked with a stock cube they're fine.

Stevearnottsbeard · 26/03/2021 21:39

Oh yes fiendish feet, I was talking about these to my mum and kids recently but couldn't remember the name

LadyPenelope68 · 26/03/2021 21:47

@FoxyTheFox
Onky Blocks which was a yoghurt inside a Duplo shaped pot, you could wash them out and then build with them.
I remember those!

LadyPenelope68 · 26/03/2021 21:49

@DipSwimSwoosh
I remember Tab, I thought I was so sophisticated drinking it 🤣🤣

WarmKitty · 26/03/2021 22:08

Super Mousse

Tizer

Smash

Coca Cola Vanilla ice cream floats in Wimpy

Lilt

Prawn cocktail starters at dinner parties

Wham Bars

Choc Dips

I want to go back there for an hour!

MinnieJackson · 26/03/2021 22:15

Those Willy wonka chocolate bars they brought out!
Cadbury marble bars
Loved those potato triangle crisps.
I remember in Spain you could get this long strip of sweets that had different Looney tunes characters on them.
Those frufoo yogurts

SausageBee · 26/03/2021 22:25

@TheOldRazzleDazzle Zap is the ice lolly i think?!

HoobleDooble · 26/03/2021 22:44

Mr Man biscuits
Little Pigs (frozen, breaded pork pig shaped things)
Those puffy pig shaped crisps
Smiths Tube crisps (loved them and saved up for the whole collection of Daley Thompson replica medals by saving packets)
Noodle Doodles
Chocolate bars my parents bought off the market which had squares of different flavoured soft centres.
Terry's Chocolate Lemon
Super Mousse

ChequerBoard · 26/03/2021 22:47

@Sillysandy

Gammon steak with tinned pineapple rings on top

You obviously haven't been in any pub restaurant. This is still very much a prominent feature of many menus!

justasking111 · 26/03/2021 23:02

@Youmeanyouvelostyourkey

So many of the above - Birds Apeel, Horlicks Tablets, the frozen juice. Does any one else remember a box of frozen meat slices (I think it was about 10 in a box with plastic sheets between them to stop them sticking together) - really thin that you would be able to fry in about 2-3 minutes and have in pitta bread. absolutely delicious but questionable about the quality of the meat. Oh and dalesteaks either lamb or beef and made to feel more special that frozen burgers which is essentially what they were
Iceland still sell Frozen steaketts, thin cook in a minute with onions gorgeous in pitta bread
justasking111 · 26/03/2021 23:13

Those sponge puddings boiled in a pan for 40 mins, and opened with a cloth over them very carefully with a tin opener

DareDevil223 · 26/03/2021 23:30

Fray Bentos pies
Mojos - which were chewy penny sweets, I loved the chocolate flavour
These chocolate cigarettes which were individually wrapped in paper.
French bread pizzas
Vesta meals.
Gino Ginelli tutti frutti ice cream.

The joy of growing up in the 70s and 80s.

Osirus · 26/03/2021 23:42

@Sillysandy

Gammon steak with tinned pineapple rings on top
I still make that 😄
Zwellers · 26/03/2021 23:49

Instant whip especially the chocolate and strawberry flavours. We all hated angel delight!
10p space invader crisps
lemon and scampi flavored knick knacks
Nerds
And from school chocolate concrete and pink custard.
Oh and garbage pail kids stickers are worth a packet now if people have kept them. The gum was always hideous

Titsywoo · 26/03/2021 23:59

So much crap in the 80s! When we had burgers there was no bun, it was just the patty served with chips and baked beans.

Mini kievs (loved these!)

SpecialchildSupermum · 27/03/2021 00:04

Blancmange 🤮 it was truly gross

Sooperdooper19 · 27/03/2021 00:05

I used to love these! Birdseye Lovely ... the only problem was that you had to wait for them to defrost (pre-microwaves) ...and 7 year old me couldn’t wait that long. Many bent teaspoons in our house 😉

Aibu to ask you what weird and wonderful food/drinks you remember from your childhood?
Magissa · 27/03/2021 00:50

Birds eye savoury rissoles, I can still remember the taste and the advert! "Savoury birds eye rissoles, they're made country style".
Sweetheart dessert in a tin. Advertised by Bob Monkhouse! You had to pour the weird gloopy stuff into a bowl then fill the tin with milk and mix it together.
Frozen Birdseye super mousse very artificial peaches and cream flavour.
Vesta Chicken supreme!
Golden cup caramel choc bar
Fry's Five fruit, like the fry's bars you get today but with five flavours in one bar.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 27/03/2021 02:14

I've never heard of cremola foam but my gran used to make a weird dessert from a packet called Rice Cremola. It was like a cross between a rice pudding and semolina.

Also, does anyone remember Bird's Eye Cheesies? I loved those. Wish you could still get them

CirqueDeMorgue · 27/03/2021 02:15

Sunny D when it was actually nice and turned your skin yellow.

GreenSlide · 27/03/2021 02:16

YY to creamola foam
Calippo shots. Tubs of little coloured frozen balls.
Breakfast slice
