This table and these chairs in the garden.
Family mostly hate them I rather like them.
Does it look odd?
Patio being replaced for dark grey slabs next week.

@cunexttime what table have you got with yours? Could you send me a pic for inspiration I’m really not sure what to do now 😂

It looks random, but would look fine if you painted the table slate grey. If you want to bring it together even more, buy matching cushions and tablecloth.

cunexttime · 26/03/2021 13:02

I found it tricky to find something that matched. Ours are quite low, possibly a bit lower than yours, so we ended up with a round grey outdoor coffee table. Bought the chairs with the intention of it being more for cups of coffee rather than meals anyway.

Bringmethebeer · 26/03/2021 13:07

I think once the new patio slabs are down itll look good! Also if the table is mental, once its been weathered and doesnt look as spanking new it'll add to the effect and will tie the look together. I say keep the table!!!

Bringmethebeer · 26/03/2021 13:07

Metal not mental 😂

Benjispruce2 · 26/03/2021 13:10

I like it. Wink

7catsandcounting · 26/03/2021 13:25

Do you like it? That's all that matters. It's perfectly fine. Enjoy your lovely garden!

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2021 13:33

Op, if you just exchanged it for the same table in grey it would be fine.

Not great but much better than the yellow one.

A black tablecloth and some yellow cushions will make it look a lot better. As it is, it looks mismatched.

ChickenSoupForTheHmm · 26/03/2021 14:33

Ok would either of these work?

No they are too low in comparison to the style of chairs.

Ninkanink · 26/03/2021 14:40

I dunno... I think you might be able to make the second one work as a coffee/drinks table. I’d seat two chairs on one of the long sides of the table and the two others on the short sides, facing out into the garden. I think it’d be far better than the other table.

Ninkanink · 26/03/2021 14:41

But I haven’t actually looked at dimensions...

Famousinlove · 27/03/2021 23:14

I like the chairs, they don't match a wooden table or coffee table, if you painted the current table black somehow that would look fine, or get another black table

dudsville · 28/03/2021 09:58

I think the mix of materials is too off putting. Could you search for a metal table? Maybe one the mirrors the thin metals of the chairs or picks up the round-ness of them?

DoubleTweenQueen · 28/03/2021 10:05

A solid wood top to a table is not good for outdoors. There's a reason wood outdoor tables are slatted.
Haven't rtwt though :D

DoubleTweenQueen · 28/03/2021 10:09

@ChickenSoupForTheHmm I would look for a good size circular garden coffee table, for a drinks table. Dark rattan or metal, or glass top - but good size & circular!

DoubleTweenQueen · 28/03/2021 10:18

@ChickenSoupForTheHmm This sort of thing? www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/krokholmen-coffee-table-outdoor-beige-80336466/
You can paint it any colour you like with the right metal paint.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 10:22

Table looks odd I think but everything else is fine. First thought is how often you are actually using them? If it is every day when dry in the summer (say for evening meal), very different from a few times a year.

It’s metal, yellow.
DoubleTweenQueen · 28/03/2021 10:44

@ThePricklySheep Doesn't look it! Anyhoo, it's pretty ugly and too tall for a drinks table, with those chairs.
