This table and these chairs in the garden.
Family mostly hate them I rather like them.
Does it look odd?
Patio being replaced for dark grey slabs next week.

If you like it then job done, I would put a cloth on it as I'm not keen.

Spied · 26/03/2021 09:58

I also thought it was a wooden indoor table.
It doesn't look right.

IdblowJonSnow · 26/03/2021 09:59

They look fine to me OP. Slightly bemused at the amount of critiquing over an outdoor table!

ThePricklySheep · 26/03/2021 10:01

As it’s a yellow metal table, I think it looks nice!

user1493494961 · 26/03/2021 10:01

It's a patio table and chairs, you're not going to have them forever, presumably they will do the job they have been bought for.

SoupDragon · 26/03/2021 10:02

I agree that yellow cushions will make the chairs go better.

A black candle holder for a citronella candle in the middle of the table will look good too.

Monkeytapper · 26/03/2021 10:03

yes it looks odd....but it doesn't matter if you like it

DumplingsAndStew · 26/03/2021 10:05

I'd paint the table black.

PinkBuffalo · 26/03/2021 10:07

I think it looks fine, it does the job you can eat there and unless you are someone particularly worried about what things look like it is fine
I would be happy to come to your house and sit there op if you was my friend!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 26/03/2021 10:09

It doesnt match and those chairs will be funny to eat at a table that height.

Sorry op

Ninkanink · 26/03/2021 10:11

The chairs are fine but the table looks very odd, it doesn’t go at all.

You will likely be able to find a table to match going cheap on Facebook marketplace.

LadyPenelope68 · 26/03/2021 10:11

Chairs are ok, but table is awful with them - it’s too small and totally the wrong colour.

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2021 10:11

No sorry it doesn’t look good sorry op, it looks like you’ve cobbled together some mismatching furntiture because you couldn’t afford a decent set. It doesn’t look right,

Markies · 26/03/2021 10:12

Chairs yes, table no.

LaceyBetty · 26/03/2021 10:14

Sorry Op, but since you are asking, I'd say no, it does not look good.

SylviaPlath1984 · 26/03/2021 10:14

Ah come on... there's telling op it's not your style and there's insinuating they have no money for something better. No need to be catty...
Viviennemary · 26/03/2021 10:16

Table doesn't match at all. Chairs are fine table awful.

Blimeyoreilly2020 · 26/03/2021 10:17

Now that I’ve zoomed in and can see the table is yellow metal and not wood then I agree some matching yellow cushions would tie the chairs in nicely! If you’re happy with it op ignore the family!

LAgeDeRaisin · 26/03/2021 10:17

It doesn't go, but does it matter if you use it and like it? Painting might help it to be less glaringly mismatched, but the cost of paint might be nearly the same as the cost of a second hand table.

You could try Gumtree or FB marketplace or a local 'buy nothing' website to try to source something else inexpensively or for free.

Maverick197 · 26/03/2021 10:18

We've got those chairs, bought from B&Q (if I remember correctly) a couple of years ago. They are super uncomfortable and nobody wants to sit in them. The ropes cut into your backside. We can only use them with lots of cushions.
On a plus side, they have been left out all year and still look good.

CleverCatty · 26/03/2021 10:18

@PandaFluff

Chairs look annoying to try and eat a meal in as slope backwards. OK for drinks and snacks.
Those chairs are very trendy and being sold in local 'trendy shops' in different colours and an old neighbour bought them. Went round one day for tea in their garden and they are fine for tea/drinks but not a meal!
LeaveMyDamnJam · 26/03/2021 10:18

Could you spray the table another colour with hammerite or something similar?

Oooooweeeee · 26/03/2021 10:19

I think the table looks too high for the chairs. You could tie them in together though, black accessories on the table and yellow cushions on the chairs.

LAgeDeRaisin · 26/03/2021 10:19

Sorry have just seen your post about table being metal so paint not an option

CleverCatty · 26/03/2021 10:20

Mismatched chairs but from what I can see of chairs and table aren't the chairs too low down to sit at the table to eat etc?
