AIBU to hate mums who turn up to drop off kids in pyjamas?

Mainly because these are the same ones who are also usually swearing in public and shouting down their mobile phones, and/or their kids.

@RootyT00t, I didn't say you had to. Equally, I don't have to change my opinion that its attention seeking, just because you say I do.

Crocidura · 24/03/2021 20:01

People seem so desperate to find and characterise an underclass for them to feel superior to.

I have a professional job and a good salary. I have worn nightwear outside the house. It really wasn't because I was trying to get attention from judgemental curtain twitching morons with superiority complexes. I couldn't give two shits what people like that think.

You don't need to change your opinion, you just need to realise that everything in life isnt about you and what you think.

Missushbb · 24/03/2021 20:04

Yep it's horrible. How hard is it to put a pair of trousers on. Also get annoyed with parents who bring their kids to school late all the time. Just rude.

Staffy1 · 24/03/2021 20:04

@RootyT00t, likewise. I actually don't think everything is about me. If you can say what you think, so can I. Stop being so defensive.

Serin · 24/03/2021 20:05

I'm like well posh me Wink
I would never do this because I know you lot would judge me but I really envy those with enough confidence not to care what people think.
I have worn PJs around a campsite and it felt great. I also have a friend who is a consultant surgeon who sneaks out to the local spar shop at night in her onesie.

Missushbb · 24/03/2021 20:06

@eatsleepread

It's tacky and a poor example.
Agree.
Crocidura · 24/03/2021 20:06

You kind of do have to change your opinion that wearing pyjamas in public is attention seeking, when people who wear pyjamas in public tell you that they are not seeking attention. I mean, they know whether or not they are seeking attention better than you do.

Thinking someone else is attention seeking implies they want your attention.

Flowers24 · 24/03/2021 20:06

Its disgusting and people have no self respect !

RootyT00t · 24/03/2021 20:07

@Flowers24

Its disgusting and people have no self respect !
As opposed to people who hate people judged on clothing. They're lovely.
Flowers24 · 24/03/2021 20:08

Dont care what you say i think standards have slipped and it just isnt acceptable to do this,

Crocidura · 24/03/2021 20:08

@Flowers24

Its disgusting and people have no self respect !
I think it's disgusting to judge people based on something as superficial as clothing, but I guess it takes all sorts.
Flowers24 · 24/03/2021 20:09

it sure does :)

Serin · 24/03/2021 20:14

@CuthbertDibbleandGrubb

I would not allow someone in pyjamas onto school premises. Make them wait off the premises, even in non-Covid times.

If the police had the powers, I would want them to breath test those who drive having not got dressed properly. Lateness in getting up can follow from evening drinking still in the bloodstream.

Eh up! Priti is that you? The last thing we need is even more erosion of our freedom.
Kimye4eva · 24/03/2021 20:20

@Crocidura

Oh look, another assumption to add to the list - they don't wash.
I think that’s a fair assumption to make. I would assume they haven’t bothered to shower in the morning otherwise why would they have chosen to put pyjamas on after a shower instead of clothes appropriate for leaving the house in?

I couldn’t give a toss if people wear pyjamas out in public but I do find it odd.

Staffy1 · 24/03/2021 20:21

@RootyT00t, not mine in particular, just attention.

Kimye4eva · 24/03/2021 20:22

@Doona

I have never actually seen this. But surely people just sleep in tshirt and leggings anyway, so how would you know unless they had specially designed sleepwear, which sounds fancy.
This did make me chuckle.

@Doona like that specially designed fancy sleepwear that’s commonly referred to as pyjamas?

RootyT00t · 24/03/2021 20:22

@Kimye4eva

Could you define appropriate clothes?

And yes, I change into clean PJs!

RootyT00t · 24/03/2021 20:23

@Flowers24

Dont care what you say i think standards have slipped and it just isnt acceptable to do this,
Well the fact you don't care is hardly earth shattering given your judgemental view or other people.
Tomatobear · 24/03/2021 20:24

I agree but you can't say it without people being defensive. Any criticism of anything ever is jumped on. I agree with a previous poster that we are lowering the bar. There has to be a line somewhere surely?!

Wait until people start walking around with their undies on or naked. You'll get responses of "it's just a body, don't judge" etc.

Crocidura · 24/03/2021 20:25

I think that’s a fair assumption to make. I would assume they haven’t bothered to shower in the morning otherwise why would they have chosen to put pyjamas on after a shower instead of clothes appropriate for leaving the house in?

  1. These are not the same assumptions. There is a difference between "they haven't had a shower yet this morning" and "they don't wash".
  1. Just because you can't fathom why someone would shower and then put pyjamas on, doesn't mean they haven't done exactly that.
DaenerysD · 24/03/2021 20:29

@1Morewineplease

I don't like seeing people in pyjamas in public. To me , it smacks of 'I can't be bothered' which is, in itself, an attitude to life.

Shift working is no excuse .

I know I'm in a minority, I don't care, it's just slovenly.

Comfort yes... bed wear no.

Interesting to note the number of pyjama wearing ladies in full make up , rocking up to school so it's not just tired shift workers.

This.
DaenerysD · 24/03/2021 20:31

@GojiberryStar

At our school they are usually the ones parked on the yellow zig zags outside the school too. 😀
Yes and yes Wink
JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 24/03/2021 20:32

Yeah they probably claim benefits too, gross
