AIBU to hate mums who turn up to drop off kids in pyjamas?

Mainly because these are the same ones who are also usually swearing in public and shouting down their mobile phones, and/or their kids.

I can't say I wouldn't do a bit of a double take and maybe tell DP when I got home (not much else going on in my life at the moment), as in 'ooh, wait'll ya hear, there was this woman ... rainbow unicorn pyjamas ... fluffy slippers ... blah, blah ...' but I wouldn't feel any antagonism towards the person. That would be unfair - unless of course she tried to clobber me with one of her slippers for staring.

Karmakarmachameleon · 24/03/2021 18:25

Perhaps wearing PJ bottoms outside doesn’t set a great example to kids, but to be honest, passing overtly classist and slightly sexist judgments on other people doesn’t set a fantastic example either.

B33Fr33 · 24/03/2021 18:29

Ahhh. There's a new pronunciation of 'more diverse' downhill. You're not really trying to hide your hairy feet under those judgy pants are you dear? bless.

riotlady · 24/03/2021 18:32

Can’t really bring myself to care what other people are wearing, so long as I can’t see their bits.

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 24/03/2021 18:34

Tbh, my area used to be very nice and very quiet. But in last 10 to 20 years has gone seriously down hill. So youre not wrong.

Must be all the PJ wearing coarse ruffians moving in.

GojiberryStar · 24/03/2021 18:34

At our school they are usually the ones parked on the yellow zig zags outside the school too. 😀

OverTheRainbow88 · 24/03/2021 18:36

What about joggers?

bloodywhitecat · 24/03/2021 18:40

I had ex colleagues who used to do this, they would get home from a nightshift at 7am, get into PJs, drop their child at school then go home and sleep.

Doona · 24/03/2021 18:41

I have never actually seen this. But surely people just sleep in tshirt and leggings anyway, so how would you know unless they had specially designed sleepwear, which sounds fancy.

Mittens030869 · 24/03/2021 18:44

**YABVU shock

Am I unreasonable to ‘hate’ mums who judge others for something that is non of their business?**

Exactly. I’ve been doing the school run for over seven years and it literally wouldn’t occur to me to take note of what other mums or dads wear, never mind judge them for it. I’d be more likely to judge them for their poor parking.

Mittens030869 · 24/03/2021 18:45

Actually, though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen parents wearing pyjamas. Or if I have seen it I’ve forgotten. It would just be a complete non-event IMO.

Okbussitout · 24/03/2021 18:46

You can have your preferences but it's a bit fucking much to hate them for it.

Dunairbeanat · 24/03/2021 18:49

Seriously, who cares? It's just material covering a body.
My elderly mother when living near a primary school used to get so angry about this.
Thing is, in the 70's, she never took us to school. I walked on my own from age 5 as the school was two streets away. She was a SAHM Confused
Stop judging people Smile

ElderMillennial · 24/03/2021 18:52

YABU to "hate" them but I can understand where you are coming from in thinking it's odd for people to wear pyjamas in public

PferdeMerde · 24/03/2021 18:53

Get over yourself, Hyacinth Bucket

BriarsHollow · 24/03/2021 19:01

I do think it’s rank and probably wouldn’t seek to socialise with them. Probably wouldn’t start a wind-up thread about it though.

I never said that.....if thats what you think, fine. But I never said anything like that. If I had a point to make regarding something else, ill be specific about it!

All I am implying is that the mums in pyjamas tend to be quite vulgar. And I dont think they set a good example for their kids.[/quote]
🤣🤣🤣

I see.

You're missing out. My friends and I are lovely and we go out in PJs.

But I know some right arseholes who wear jeans.

Hope you don't wear jeans OP.

Chickychickydodah · 24/03/2021 19:02

I’ve had my pjs on all day, couldnt give a flying f##k what anyone else thinks.

RootyT00t · 24/03/2021 19:03

Do they sell their benefit vouchers too?

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 24/03/2021 19:04

I would not allow someone in pyjamas onto school premises. Make them wait off the premises, even in non-Covid times.

If the police had the powers, I would want them to breath test those who drive having not got dressed properly. Lateness in getting up can follow from evening drinking still in the bloodstream.

Eh? Nothing to do with diversity at all! All the ethnic minorities who moved into the area are actually very well to do!

Going off topic. But if you really must know, the problems started /got worse once large numbers of big blocks of flats started to be built, and got worse when the job centre opened in town.

Just the way it is

Clearly your bridge isn't in a very nice area OP, doesn't happen here

MiscUser9823 · 24/03/2021 19:07

And before anyone jumps on me, I moved into one of those flats (private rent)after moving out my parents house (in same town). But a fraction of tennant's ruined it for everyone living there and nearby flats.

Would you?

I assume you don't actually work in a school and these powers are just in your head.

You should ring the police and suggest your second suggestion. They will be racing to do it.

Doona · 24/03/2021 19:08

Eh, it's all about context. Sounds like it's about more than just sleepwear being worn in public.
