A white wash report. Misuse of public money. Shower of incompetents in SNP government. Rotten education. Using covid as a political tool.
I could weep for my country.
Yet people like James O'Brien continue to arse lick Nicola

This whole thread tastes of hillariously bitter unionism op

Janey Godley has nothing to do with the SNP. She's a comedienne.

What's your point?

Pumperthepumper · 23/03/2021 13:50

I don't do Twitter wars. I post ' likes' usually However I think she blocked me on something completely unrelated to politics. She showed herself to be very nasty about bereaved people. Which considering her history is astonishing.

That is astonishing. It’s very close to being completely unbelievable actually. And she just blocked you out of the blue for a like? That also seems massively unlikely.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 23/03/2021 13:54

'For many people, separation from Westminster is the biggest political issue in their lifetime. Who on earth would they not vote for the party that represents the path to achieving it?'

Well, just as well you weren't separated from 'Westminster' before the vaccine roll out eh?

'it's that she has shown her face every single day and answered an hour of journalists' questions live on TV. She has looked present and thoughtful throughout, whereas her WM counterpart has often been posted missing for weeks on end.'

She has used the pandemic as an opportunity for her daily party political broadcasts. She isn't a news presenter she should have reduced her TV shows to a weekly one once the situation improved.

RunnerDown · 23/03/2021 13:54

@UnderHisAye

This thread makes no sense. You seem to want to articulate something but there's 'too much to say'?

I am so so bored of this notion that somehow NS has duped people into supporting her. For many people, separation from Westminster is the biggest political issue in their lifetime. Who on earth would they not vote for the party that represents the path to achieving it?

Every thread about the SNP claims that its supporters are under a spell, in some sort of cult, and generally not intelligent.

Every thread someone also posts that you dare not speak out against the SNP as you get to much abuse.

Absolute crap, IME.

And yet Johnson has broken the ministerial code, given billions to unqualified people to provide PPE, and a tracing system that simply does not work.

I think if NS has 'done a number' on anyone in England (whatever the fuck you think 'done a number' means) it's that she has shown her face every single day and answered an hour of journalists' questions live on TV. She has looked present and thoughtful throughout, whereas her WM counterpart has often been posted missing for weeks on end.

I totally agree. I have stopped posting about my support for Nicola because of the inevitable abuse that follows. I am middle glass, educated to post grad level, as are most of my friends. The rhetoric on here is very far from the views I hear irl. The Johnson government is corrupt to the core and is deliberately duplicitous. The lack of scrutiny by the media in regards to this, and compared to the harassment Nicola has had, is breathtaking. However I think the way that this has been handled by the media, and the antics of that complete idiot Douglas Ross , actually will pull voters towards rather than away from the SNP. As a former Labour supporter, their lack of clear policies or effective opposition means that the “left” in England have done any sabotaging to their political hopes completely on their own.
snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 13:56

@GetOffYourHighHorse

Yes we wouldn't have been able to get our own vaccines would we? Hmm

No she doesn't. Ofcom investigated and found everything to be completely above board.

snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 13:58

@RunnerDown I completely agree.

The SNP and NS have their failings theres no doubt about that. I can't see who it is that these folk who hate them so much think is so much better or worthy of a vote.

Douglas Ross? Wtf. His comment on travellers was actually vile. How can anyone ever see past it?

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 13:58

The vaccine rollout is successful, yes. Is that going to change my entire belief system about what's best for the future of the nation, for hundreds of years after I'm gone?

Er, no.

Also, Ofcom disagree with you there, so let's put that one to bed, shall we.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 23/03/2021 13:58

'Yes we wouldn't have been able to get our own vaccines would we? hmm'

Well not if #ThankyouNicola was busy fangirling with the EU you wouldn't. You have seen the mess they've made of it haven't you?!

What difference would it have made to the vaccine rollout? I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.
AllTheWayFromLondonDAMN · 23/03/2021 14:00

Regardless of what I think about her, the bottom lines is that she won’t resign even if the conclusions are damning because Johnson himself is so fucking corrupt, as are his cabinet that she will be completely justified in saying “well, a lot of these people condemning me have done way worse so... bollocks to them!”

It’s just another way that having a cabinet as bad as we do impacts on way more than just the consequences of their shitty, self-serving actions.

siyhack58342 · 23/03/2021 14:00

@derxa Janey Godley is a comedian, what does her blocking you have to do with anything? If you don't like NS that is up to you, but the English left and random comedians blocking you are just really bizarre unlinked tangents

Ah I see. Not sarcasm, just ignorance.
snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 14:01

@GetOffYourHighHorse can I get a wee shot of your crystal ball so I can get the lotto numbers?

EU countries did not have to opt in to the procurement scheme. There's no way of saying whether we would or wouldn't have. You never know, we might have buddied up with our closest neighbour and worked together as equals given that would have been in our mutual interests.

I don't have a crystal ball either though 🤷🏻‍♀️

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 14:02

Given that we've got a land border with England I suspect we'd have done vaccine procurement as a group anyway.

Oh I forgot Scotland isn't able to survive on its own. We wouldn't have been able to source vaccines without good old Westminster.

She's used the broadcasts during pandemic to keep people updated daily.

Unlike Boris, who passes the buck to anyone else when hard questions are likely...and by hard, I mean Laura K asking tame questions. Not holding him accountable for the deaths, contact tracing farce, PPE cronyism and the 2.2 million pound refit of HIS DAILY BRIEFING ROOM!!!!!

How anyone can hold up Boris and co as anything other than incompetent, murderous, greedy scumbags they are is beyond me.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 23/03/2021 14:08

'She's used the broadcasts during pandemic to keep people updated daily.'

It is a year later fgs. I'm not sure why Scottish people can't read papers or watch the news. She is using it as a party political broadcast.

Yes at crucial stages of course updates are required but not daily 🙄.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 14:09

I don't want to read the media's take. I want to hear it from the horse's mouth, not through a filter.

This is public health comms 101 - put a regular trustworthy face on it, that's how you get people to understand what's happening, and take part in the changes they're required to.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 14:10

Anyway they're not daily any more so there's yet another thing you're moaning about that isn't actually current.

We’re still in lockdown. Jesus, of all the things NS could be criticised for, daily briefings during a pandemic wouldn’t be at the top of my list.
catmothertes1 · 23/03/2021 14:16

@aprilanne

The woman is a bloody embarrassment I wish she would just face off from our country .but some treat her like some sort of messiah she picked the guy herself to do the report .the woman is repugnant
As the election is only a few weeks away,I guess we will see if people in Scotland agree with you (or not).
GetOffYourHighHorse · 23/03/2021 14:17

'Anyway they're not daily any more so there's yet another thing you're moaning about that isn't actually current'

Only very decent stopped as there's an election looming so she isn't allowed.

I'm not moaning, I'm merely disputing the #Thankyou Nicola drivel. HTH.

UnderHisAye · 23/03/2021 14:18

Nobody on this thread has posted such sycophantic nonsense though.

blowinahoolie · 23/03/2021 14:19

I think SNP will do fine at the polls.

snowcoveredcampsies · 23/03/2021 14:19

There's this weird mental state called 'bitch eating crackers' I learned about it on here.

It describes feeling a hatred toward someone so great that it becomes irrational. Every little innocuous thing that person does causes feelings of extreme rage hence the name... Look at that that bitch over there eating crackers.

I think we have a fair few sufferers on this thread.

Look at her, providing information to the people of Scotland in an articulate and coherent way. What an arsehole.

blowinahoolie · 23/03/2021 14:22

All this attention Sturgeon gets means she is worth talking about. You are helping her win the election without thinking about it 🙊

It also gets the pro Indy stuff in the forefront. Job done.
