How's your hair looking?

If I don't laugh at myself I'll probably cry.

I had my hair done in October 2019 with the idea of getting it done again in early spring 2020 ready for the summer, well that didn't plan out obviously and now another 12 months have passed and I look like Brian May.
Anti-frizz serum is useless at this point.

Tell me I'm not the only person who looks ridiculous.

Another Ken Dodd here, booked in for 16th April, can't wait.

Tehmina23 · 22/03/2021 18:50

Long & wavy / curly BUT needs blonde highlights desperately as there's too much grey around my hairline & I have currently got 'silver' highlights..., not good. At all.

Bluewavescrashing · 22/03/2021 18:52

Feral.

I'm grieving out my grey so at least I'll achieve something by the end of lockdown. It's quite nice actually with silvery highlight type bits but growing it out is savage.

Veryverycalmnow · 22/03/2021 19:04

My hair is so bad. Dark greasy roots/ top half with big blonde frizz at the bottom. It's shortish so can't even tie it up. I don't look in mirrors...

Veryverycalmnow · 22/03/2021 19:05

Oh yeah and springy white/ greys popping out too.

GameSetMatch · 22/03/2021 19:05

I looked like a 10 year old girl with bum length hair so I got my husband to cut it, it looks worse now he’s just chopped bit off. I’m just tying it up till I work out what to do next.

This is me 😬 it’s fun being blonde until you can’t get to the hairdressers!! Then I wish I was a brunette!
Sparklesocks · 22/03/2021 19:06

Shit!!

Johnbowlby · 22/03/2021 19:07

My fringe is brown and the rest is blonde with brown roots. Hideous

Walkacrossthesand · 22/03/2021 19:36

Having had a layered bob for decades because I could never tolerate the growing out stage, i now have long hair which I wear up most of the time! I like a bit of a fringe thing though, and that has now well and truly grown out & is flopping around annoyingly. And my salon hasn't started making bookings for April onwards yet, in case the roadmap changes - hopefully they'll start soon...

SarahBellam · 22/03/2021 19:55

I was just saying to my DO the other day that I haven’t noticed anyone having terrible hair! I’ve done the unicorn cut for years but I have thick wavy hair so nobody notices any difference. I stopped dying it about 2 years ago and it’s naturally brunette with about 30% great, so it’s not a bright beautiful grey or white - it just looks faded. I’ve started using the John Frieda range of colour shampoos and conditioners that deposit colour on the surface but don’t dye the hair. They blend the grey so it’s still visible but much less obvious and it is brilliant. It’s really great for my hair so it’s shiny and glossy and it looks better than it has looked for years, and I don’t have to worry about box dyes or roots or salon appointments.

Thomasina79 · 22/03/2021 20:03

Mine is just as bad.

However in my opinion Boris’s hair is the worst of the lot!

woodhill · 22/03/2021 20:11

Which JF shampoo do you useSmile

Chillychangchoo · 22/03/2021 20:12

Honestly? The best it’s ever looked. I have not coloured it now for well over a year and the condition is just lovely. I can’t believe how much the bleach was drying it out, the texture has completely changed.

I won’t be dying it from now on until I start going grey maybe.

Tomnooktoldmeto · 22/03/2021 20:14

I’m actually quite shocked to say but it looks great, I’ve not been to a hair dresser in 17 months, my highlights have grown out completely as I’ve cut it 3 times now

I’ve obviously spent far too long watching the hairdresser and barber so set to on the family during lockdown 1

Dd now sports an undershaved crop, DH has a number 2, DS a typical footballer cut that he’s well chuffed with (his words) and I have a nicely shaped crop

I think I missed my forte in life and am seriously worried the neighbours will be thinking I’ve been breaking lockdown with my hairdresser instead of cutting in the kitchen

supadupapupascupa · 22/03/2021 20:19

No greys so colour is fine. I got the last slot before lockdown at new year so my cut isn't bad. Also got an appointment for end April so I might just be in luck for a change!!!

radiateforme · 22/03/2021 20:21

My hair looks awful. I have short afro hair and I've cried over the mess it is a few times. To some it's no big deal but as a black woman who was bullied as a kid because of her hair (badly) I'm triggered by it. I've had a hair wrap on since this lockdown started.

Scarby9 · 22/03/2021 20:28

I think it is genuinely looking okay.
I don't dye it anyway, so the colour hasn't changed.
I always trim my fringe a couple of times between proper haircuts, so that also looks normal.
It was getting dry, whispy and straggly at the ends so three weeks ago, i put the main length into two bunches and chopped them off at shoulder level. That cut got rid of all the split ends and my hair is now a bob that looks neat and tidy from the front on Zoom, which is the only way anyone is seeing me currently!

TheGriffle · 22/03/2021 20:30

Mines the longest it’s ever been. I go through stages of growing it then getting it lopped off when it starts to annoy me but I hate going to the hairdressers so I get it cut then start growing it again. It’s not been cut for over a year and a half now.

It’s full of split ends so I trimmed it a tiny bit but not very well and Dh hennaed it for me a couple of weeks ago as the amount of grey sprouting through was ridiculous. I’m quite liking the length at the minute so when things open up again will probably just go and get a proper trim and that’s it.

Lemonyfuckit · 22/03/2021 20:34

I feel like it could be worse - my hair is long anyway so doesn't have much style to grow out it's just longer, and I dye it myself with henna so don't have a root/grey issue (although if I did get that done at the hairdressers I would be feeling seriously depressed - call me shallow but I would be - at the greys). I also hacked some layers on in a fit of boredom a couple of weeks ago and feel like they could have come out worse! I might be completely deluded though.
But, stress has made my skin got spotty, I'm not getting any exercise, coupled with the constant wearing of jogging bottoms, t-shirt and jumper (I know there's nothing stopping me dressing smarter but honestly I feel what's the point.....) is just making me feel like I've lost part of myself, am just so over this now.

RosesAndHellebores · 22/03/2021 20:36

Had a cut and colour on 26th November and the length is now such that I can do very little with it. Usuallybgo every 6 weeks and have three shades of highlights to deal with the salty peppery grey. Fortunately not too rooty but goodness it needs doing. We are all booked in on 12th April: 9.30 DH; 10 DS; 10.30 me; 11 DD. DD and I having highlights so should be through by 12.30. We'll be turning up like the Boswells.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 22/03/2021 20:45

Anyone in the public eye e.g. newsreaders have been allowed to carry on having treatments
no one told Boris then?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 22/03/2021 20:50

Far too long - last had it cut just before 1st lockdown. Can’t wear it down, I’m far too old. So it’s twisted up the back into a claw thing. Elderly Victorian governess type of look.
Only redeeming feature is, I’m still not grey, even at my great age. Luck of the genes - my mother still wasn’t grey at 80.

CorianderBee · 22/03/2021 20:51

My hair condition is pretty amazing compared to usual because of the never styling it and lack of bleaching.

I do however hate it because I started 2020 blonde and now my hair is completely brunette except some whisps of blonde at the ends. Tbh I'm quite surprised by how quickly my hair seems to grow (while never getting any longer). I've grown my entire head of boob length hair again in a year. Must fall out like the devil though

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 22/03/2021 20:51

I look like Ron Weasley.
