How's your hair looking?

If I don't laugh at myself I'll probably cry.

I had my hair done in October 2019 with the idea of getting it done again in early spring 2020 ready for the summer, well that didn't plan out obviously and now another 12 months have passed and I look like Brian May.
Anti-frizz serum is useless at this point.

Tell me I'm not the only person who looks ridiculous.

I resemble the neanderthal in 'Ghosts' (or Stig of the Dump for those of you aged 45 and over).

HowManyToes · 23/03/2021 23:45

I look like a burst fucking cushion

MiddlesexGirl · 23/03/2021 23:49

Fantastic.

I home dye it around every six months which is enough to keep the blonde looking natural - no roots as such - some of the roots are actually lighter than the dye- just in general a more mousey blonde if I don't help it out.
Condition much better as I can leave it loose a lot more often.

KingdomScrolls · 23/03/2021 23:53

Like Curtis Stigers'

QueenPaw · 24/03/2021 00:02

Awful. I had a bad haircut a year ago so at least I've been able to grow it
I mean it's still bad, just longer Grin

Tillygetsit · 24/03/2021 00:24

Mine is just awful. In a mad moment I dyed it light blue. I've hacked my fringe but daren't do the rest. Its so thick a bird could live in it. Makes my psoriasis so much worse.

Gothichouse40 · 24/03/2021 00:31

I'm like a grey haired Rapunzel with split ends, sadly cannot get my hair cut till June, due to my hairdresser having to close so many times.

honeybee88 · 24/03/2021 00:32

We have been thru a pandemic and you are worried about your hair? A few youtube videos and you can learn to do just about anything like cutting your hair and coloring it. New hobby or profession?

Albless · 24/03/2021 00:34

Very short.

Have clippers, not afraid to use them!

Gothichouse40 · 24/03/2021 00:47

Honeybee, I was trying to bring a little humour but it obviously misfired. Yes, we are going through a Pandemic but it was just a harmless discussion about hair.

QueenPaw · 24/03/2021 00:48

@honeybee88 I don't think any of us are worried about it, just sharing comments on how our hair looks as the question asks
I can't cut my own because it needs a curly hair specialist to fix the mess from the last cut
Am shielding and still able to moan that my hair looks shit!

Justsocross · 24/03/2021 00:51

Weirdly mine looks good . It only grows in fits and starts and it’s just had its first growing phase in over a year so still in a Bob shape and I colour it with professional product bought online . I think I may be one of the lucky one hair wise ...... but the body dear god in heaven it’s a wreck Blush

Parkerwhereareyou · 24/03/2021 01:33

Actually quite excited by mine. Just the past couple of weeks has gone all super-shiny and seems properly long. I started wondering if all this going to the hairdresser is a bit of a con as honestly mine feels good.

Luddite26 · 24/03/2021 05:02

Oh my god i totally forgot about the pandemic.

Treeway · 24/03/2021 05:11

I would describe it as a curly haired Boris look. It sticks directly up/sideways anyway but down.

We have been thru a pandemic and you are worried about your hair?
Yes, we're still allowed to be worried about little things or frivolous things, it doesn't have to be a 24/7 covid marathon in people's heads. Hmm

Tzimi · 24/03/2021 05:30

@Cherryvalentine I agree, I need a haircut badly, and I'm also suffering through not being able to visit my gym. It's only a small gym, and a small group of people who go there. It's well distanced, and everyone is careful about cleaning down the equipment after use.

QuidditchQueen · 24/03/2021 05:31

Loving the wonderfully imaginative descriptions on here Grin
My hair has always been a problem (frizzy) and I’ve never got the hang of blow drying so normally go every week to the hairdresser for a blow dry. I put dye on my roots before I go because there is only one colour/brand that suits me and the roots need touching every week.
About 2 years started getting Brazilian treatments every three months which have bee miraculous and managed to squeeze some in over the last year when hairdressers have been open.
Finally bought (another) hairdryer with inbuilt brush and got the hang of blow drying so with a combination of residual Brazilian/new hairdryer and best of all the 20second Miracle Water recommended on another thread my hair is actually the best it has been! If I had been less lazy (and desperate) the years could have saved a fortune.
So will go back to hairdressers for the Brazilian keratin when they open, but no more weekly blow dries.

AwkwardSquad · 24/03/2021 06:03

There’s a pandemic? Why did nobody tell me? I just thought my hairdressers were having a very long holiday...

My hair has gone quite wild and straggly now but it’s in great condition, and I gave up dyeing it years ago so don’t have that to contend with. Looking forward to a haircut at the end of April.

AwkwardSquad · 24/03/2021 06:07

I used to have a crop, and now I have a short (currently v messy) bob. Really weird feeling having this much hair. Don’t really recognise myself.

Mummadeze · 24/03/2021 06:18

I have a short hair style that has grown out. I can now make a v short ponytail which I do every day but I hate it. When I wear it down it is so thick and bushy and uneven. It is horrible. Am booked in for the 13th April.

Darlingx · 24/03/2021 06:53

Last time I got my hair done I had to change hairdressers because mine is too far away after first lockdown and booked for months Most hairdressers were charging more but myself and my partner have lost our jobs. So I had to pay more than double what I normally pay without a cut or blowdry? So I imagine its a mad scrabble and prices will be up again. Mine is highlighted and haven’t had it done since July last year. I am thinking it’s a mad scrabble again so I am just avoiding the whole issue. I could be Rod Hull’s twin sister and have more roots than a tree so I have been doing a Benny from crossroads and just throw on a beanie hat to hide the regrowth 😂

Quadrangle · 24/03/2021 09:17

You are not allowed to take the piss out of your bad hair in a pandemic. Who knew?

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 24/03/2021 09:29

There is always one trying to bring the mood down . A pandemic who knew !!!

VerbenaGirl · 24/03/2021 10:08

Mine is shocking. I should be thinking about booking an appointment for when everything re-opens, but there's so little motivation when I'm still likely to be home most of the time then anyway.

Coulddowithanap · 24/03/2021 10:16

@HazeyJaneII

Mine looks fabulous! (I don't go to the hairdressers anyway)
Same here.. Although maybe I think it looks fabulous and really it looks awful. Last went to the hairdresser around 15 years ago and no one has ever said my hair looks bad lol.
