How's your hair looking?

If I don't laugh at myself I'll probably cry.

I had my hair done in October 2019 with the idea of getting it done again in early spring 2020 ready for the summer, well that didn't plan out obviously and now another 12 months have passed and I look like Brian May.
Anti-frizz serum is useless at this point.

Tell me I'm not the only person who looks ridiculous.

pretty good ish, I grew it out since the last lockdown hadn't had it dyed or cut since December 2019, then at Christmas had it cut into a long bob by my grandma who I stayed with at christmas coming home from uni now just a slightly longer bob but an ombred long bob because of the previous dye not the worst

YukoandHiro · 23/03/2021 01:19

Absolutely in the same position. I've had it trimmed once since Oct 2019 by a (rubbish ) mobile hairdresser who didn't understand my hair type. I look somewhere between a lion and Brian may. My grey has also grown out. I'm also post partum. I look and feel a right fucking mess.

LifesLittleDeciders · 23/03/2021 01:46

Hey well, I decided that I would trim my own hair, and thin it out.

I look ridiculous with uneven lengths of hair that is now too short to even pull back let alone tie up so I literally have to just embrace it.

I look horrendous.

Lesssaideasymended · 23/03/2021 03:25

I look like a brunette ...mind you the break from bleach has probably done my hair the world of good. Think I’m gonna stay brunette actually

EmilyEmmabob · 23/03/2021 03:39

Striped and not in a good way. My roots are black and grey, my highlights and lowlights have grown down and lost their colour so they look either bright yellow or dull yellow. Not a good look.

The worst part is the length, my hair is usually shoulder length, it's now almost to my elbows, greasy roots and dry ends. It's thick so I'm boiling all the time and my head sweats.

I don't think I've ever felt so gross because of my hair! I didn't think it would ever really cause me an issue - it's hair. My eyebrows and facial hair are another story, I now just avoid mirrors so I can pretend nothing has happened.

I cannot wait until I can have all this sorted out. I don't think this has brought out the best in my confidence either. I thought I'd feel empowered at being 'au natural' but that hadn't happened!

Thank for for face masks is all I can say.

theyoungishman · 23/03/2021 03:47

Mine is crap- uneven length, half grown out colour and split ends. But this is nothing to do with lockdown- I'm in Australia where salons never closed.. I'm just lazy!!

grapefruitish · 23/03/2021 04:11

I love mine! I'm always asking the hairdressers not to use so much heat on my hair so without the scalding blow dry every 8 weeks it is now shiny and long and finally grown to boob length. I kind of think boobs and hair tips are lowering together now though. I don't colour it with only 4-5 greys at each temple. It's long, thick and swishy like a cape and I bought a ton of barrettes etc to keep it up. It can look slightly like little girl hair so I'm looking forward to a few layers for when we're going out again. I think I'll only get it cut twice a year from now on.

MammaSchwifty · 23/03/2021 12:39

hair is fine, I've learned to cut my fringe myself, and the rest is just a lot longer than a year ago.

colour and condition is good, thanks to henna, so no roots or texture issues!

let's not talk about the stone weight gain though...

shinynewapple21 · 23/03/2021 16:10

It doesn't look too bad but I'm finding it annoying now . I wear it with a fringe and have cut that myself, and also coloured my roots . It's very long though and that's what's annoying as it keeps blowing across my face and getting stuck in my coat zipper .

Mind you, I have had it cut beginning of September last year , so just over 6 months . Can't imagine not having had it cut for 18 months .

Normally have roots and a trim every 4-5 weeks.

catsandchaos · 23/03/2021 16:13

Feels great. I've been using Bleach London deep conditioner and it's better for being away from a hairdresser tbh

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 23/03/2021 16:22

I usually have a highlighted blonde pixie cut . Last colour was August and we locked down in Nov for my next colour . Could only get a cut in December . I resemble a mousey Lampshade. Totally fed up !

PussGirl · 23/03/2021 16:49

Mine's in a short style that's longer at the front. It's greying and increasingly curly, so it's been getting bigger rather than longer.

I think it's reaching as big as I can tolerate now though - always a surprise to catch myself in the mirror in the morning & see what it's done to itself overnight Grin

I don't dye it so at least no roots to contend with. Cut booked for mid April.

bondgirl76 · 23/03/2021 17:32

I have a short blonde pixie cut..blonde with highlights..had one cut in over a year..have one bookedon april 12th....hopefully.I ha ve had a go myself..back hard tho.I resemble worzel gummidge on a bad day.

anon666 · 23/03/2021 17:35

I had mine cut twice, once on 4th July, and again in December.

Still looks completely crap.

Lovetoplan · 23/03/2021 17:36

For those who want to get a salon blow dry look at home with minimal effort I can really recommend the Dyson Airwrap. Yes it's an investment but it does pay its way in avoided salon appointments and much better condition hair. Well that's my experience anyway and I am happy to share in case it helps anyone else. Clairol root touch up is also really good for those who have coloured hair.

crinklycarnation · 23/03/2021 17:39

Awful, I haven’t been to the hairdressers in over a year. However I have an appointment booked for next week (Wales)!

krj2688 · 23/03/2021 17:40

Desperately needing a cut!

My mum taught me a trick a few years ago after she did a hairdressing course. section the hair then twist a section really tight until the split ends poke out then cut them off. Do that to each section. Time consuming but It's helped a bit!

RebaJ22 · 23/03/2021 17:40

My hair gets to a certain length then starts growing outwards because it is so thick.. add the frizz that's come from nowhere and I'm here looking like hagridConfused

I've pre ordered one from QVC as they are out of stock everywhere. I've already got the Supersonic and Corrale so I thought I'd complete the set!

I also use the Clairol root touch up and it seems to take better on my greys than the normal box dye

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 23/03/2021 17:44

I let my mother cut it last october. That was the first time it had been cut in about a year. It is long, with a really dodgy fringe I cut myself and more grey than I am willing to truly acknowledge to myself

Vladi10 · 23/03/2021 17:48

Mine is horrendous. Roots grown out which I’ve had to dye because it’s so grey, but in general I just look terrible. I’ve put on too much weight, aged about ten years and just generally feel very down on myself

Muncher75 · 23/03/2021 17:48

Think Wurzel Gummage, sadly without the option of changing heads

AuntieMarys · 23/03/2021 17:52

Shit. I tie it back every day and have given up trying to cover the grey. Hair appointment 3 weeks today. I want 4 inches off and my beautiful colour restored. I normally go every 5 weeks so it has been hell. Last went mid December

Mariamaria71 · 23/03/2021 17:54

Mine is shocking. I look like James May. If he had hair that was a snot green colour. I need to find the bleach out!
