To be disappointed that my favourite radio presenter does not look how he sounds

I have recently found a radio presenter that i love listening to. His voice is like catnip to me and he makes me giggle while i am doing my daily work. I listen to all his shows now. I decided today, to follow him on Twitter and saw his picture.

He is not what i imagined him to be. Based on his voice i had an image in my mind of what he looked like. I am slightly and mildly disappointed. AIBU to be so bothered by this?

No, not him but he is every bit as gorgeous as he sounds! I have seen his image and he matches his voice.

Eddie Mair has a gorgeous voice and seems a lovely man. Doesn’t look like I imagined though.

Nor a radio presenter but the voice of The National's lead singer gives me goosebumps. I wish i hadn't looked him up though - looks nothing like I imagined.

Why would you offend them?

I wasn't expecting Owen Farell to sound the way he sounded when I first heard him speak. It isn't offensive

because i don't want to be unkind. Their voice is lovely though!

What's unkind about finding out someone's look doesn't match the picture you painted In your head?

I was totally gobsmacked when a lovely online friend who I'd been chatting to for years via typed message finally spoke to me on the phone - she sounded nothing like (the sound my brain assigned to her) her pictures and chat.

She laughed and said 'everyone says that'.

Matt Dillion is the only other voice i have ever heard , that gives me goosebumps. He does though look, like he sounds.

I immediately thought Ken Bruce too. As a young teen I thought he sounded like he was tall, dark and handsome.

I feel like this sometimes about The Archers' characters.

I assumed that Rick Astley looked like Tom Selleck, based on his voice (going back a long time!).
On the other hand, I was told I sounded like Melinda messenger once- I certainly don't look like her.

I thought James O’B too, I was so gutted when I saw him. Tom Swarbs is quite good looking I think (not in a pervy thigh rubbing way)

I felt like this about Charlotte Green (R4). Totally different person in my head.

I've always thought Andy Hamilton has an absolutely gorgeous voice. He didn't look like I imagined him though when I first saw him.

I think he does! He was reading out all the abudive tweets the other day about his looks. He seems to have a thick skin.
