Philadelphia on Dark choc digestive, apparently tastes like cheesecake.

Nope - tastes like Philadelphia on a dark chocolate digestive! Disappointing

Lakeland heated airer, I love mine.

Microfibre spray mop thingy, it's not perfect but much easier to use on laminate floor than a trad bucket and mop.

Cauldron Quest board game - I would have liked it more if the rest of the family hadn't hated it.

Justkeeprollingalong · 21/03/2021 22:00

@ThroughThickAndThin01

I got rid of unsightly (although hidden) skin tags at home thanks to MN. I wish I had known this 30 years ago.
How??
grassisjeweled · 21/03/2021 22:01

Almost on the point of trying lesbianism because of MN to be honest.

Justkeeprollingalong · 21/03/2021 22:03

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay

crumpets soaked in egg and fried
Sounds amazing. Do you butter them after frying?
GojiberryStar · 21/03/2021 22:08

Homebirth
Menstrual cup
Rear facing car seats (12yrs ago)
Leaving exH. Reading stuff on here and getting support opened my eyes

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 21/03/2021 22:12

Reasties fabulous Christmas threads - saved a bomb

fairydustandpixies · 21/03/2021 22:15

Making a chicken feed a family of 4 for a week. Nope, doesn't work...

Maybe this is all for a "what has MN cost me" thread.

I found the feminist threads. It cost my my relationship.

On the plus side the next one might be better as I know what to look for now.

Strangely I don't want to to be a man either i think I'm.done there.

I'm straight though so not sure what that means.

Mn have been great in advice and support for thise leaving relationships though. I definitely agree on that.

Borntohula · 21/03/2021 22:40

'Did you mean to be so rude?'

Anyone on the receiving end of that walks away red-faced and vowing to always think before speaking.

Dullardmullard · 21/03/2021 22:45
@Dullardmullard the mn haircut was about ten years ago. You put your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head, and lean over and chop the end off. I had a mullet as a result 🤣
Sorry I laughed a mullet eh 😂😂😂

Grin

I'm bi, trust me women have just as many red flags - just different reasons!

Puffalicious · 21/03/2021 23:03

Another for Reastie's Christmas Thread- AMAZING. So many things I'd never have found/ thought about. I miss it the rest of the year.

Seasalt coat (not Janelle).

16:8 has really worked. The thread mates over on weight loss have been awesome.

RampantIvy · 21/03/2021 23:06

@bearlyactive

Sounds very odd but that Malory Towers series that was on CBBC about a year ago. There was a thread about it on here which inspired me to watch it, and it proved to be one of the only things that kept my head in place throughout the first weeks of lockdown because it was so simple and nostalgic Grin
Me too. I loved it. I hope they do another series.

Aldi Q10 serum. It's amazing

I have just bought some.
Korean Italy towels. They do work, but you need a long soak in the bath first.
Various clothes and skincare items.
I now wear the right size bra

Zoflora - can't stand the smell of any of them
Steam cleaner - too much of a faff. An ecloth mop does a better job. I am going to sell my barely used steam cleaner

Quaagars · 21/03/2021 23:10
 • taking talcum powder to the beach and putting on wet sandy legs - actually does work!
Soaks up the moisture and just brushes off with the towel instead of having to take half your skin off and sand still not moving lol
 • Mrs Hinch. Visited her IG page out of curiosity after several threads on here, and couple of years later I'm still there and love her Grin
Ireallymustgotobed · 21/03/2021 23:11

Double layering (or even triple layering) waterproof mattress protectors and sheets on the beds (including mine as it is where DD ends up if poorly) to make quick changes possible in case of vomiting, etc.

Works for that and also saved my mattress when friend stayed with her baby and left baby bottles lying on the bed uncapped repeatedly (and underplayed spillages till end of the week. I did treat myself to a new duvet.

MumblesAndMutters · 22/03/2021 00:09

Good:

Baby aspirin TTC - worked! (GP agreed)
The Ordinary skincare
Milkshake Whipped Cream conditioner (fine hair)
Dinner of: pre-packed Mediterranean veg + tin of chickpeas + halloumi
Talcum powder on sandy feet
Kew tinned candle (instead of pricier alternatives)
Superga and Toms casual shoes

Not good:

The Pink Stuff cleaner - doesn’t work
Collagen supplements - no difference

RatherLostPenguins · 22/03/2021 00:22

Liked:

Heated airer - not Lakeland and no cover but love it and dries things so much faster than our old washer-dryer ever did

Zoflora - some I like more than others

Lantana can opener - I love it so much I hate that most of our cans are ringpull ones instead (I struggle to open ringpull ones)

Didn't like:

Boob or bust - was really off for me and had to go down 2 cup sizes even after all the side scooping etc.

Similar to footner type thing online - didn't work. But I now use the Home Bargains version which works a treat for me.

Steam mop - really wasn't a fan, have a spray mop now which I much prefer

YNK · 22/03/2021 00:27

Babilys (sp?) big whirley brush.
I've dried my hair with it for years!
It's great!

TheLoverOfTea · 22/03/2021 00:30

Eufy!

ElephantsNest · 22/03/2021 00:32

Good:

“Did you mean to be so rude?”
Menstrual cup
Icebreaker thermals

No so good:

The Mumsnet haircut - I looked like a refugee from the 80s Grin
Rubber brooms to remove pet hair from carpet
Mrs Hinch (don’t understand the appeal)

HollyCarrot · 22/03/2021 01:30

Politely disagreeing with people. Complete waste of time.

Archaea · 22/03/2021 01:32

Yelloh holidays in France

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 22/03/2021 01:51

Can't believe people don't like steam mops
I find mine quick and easy and floor practically dry, much better than mopping
Zoflora is ok but not as amazing as I thought it would be

Time40 · 22/03/2021 03:00

Laser Light ear plugs. Horrible things. They make my ears hurt (and I can't understand why, because they're so soft)

QuidditchQueen · 22/03/2021 06:35

Never heard of a steam mop -sounds interesting -and suggestions as to brand?
