Philadelphia on Dark choc digestive, apparently tastes like cheesecake.

Nope - tastes like Philadelphia on a dark chocolate digestive! Disappointing

OP posts:

Instantpot - took me a while to learn what worked and what didn't, but as time's gone on I found more and more uses for it, and it now gets used 3-5 times a week.
Scraping scale of bathroom fittings with a 2p - worked a treat.
Zoflora - just didn't work with how I clean.
Tesco hair serum - meh

MojoJojo71 · 21/03/2021 18:10

I’ve read some great books recommended on here. The hearts invisible furies was the best thing I’ve read in ages.

Villa Maria Sauvignon blanc - now my favourite wine

La Roche Posay - I trialled it for mumsnet for a product test and it completely cleared up eczema I’ve had for years!

TokyoSushi · 21/03/2021 18:14

M&S Ivy jeans - love
Shark hoover - love
Monica Vinader jewellery - love
Top cashback - love
Seasalt Janelle - love
Micellar water - love
Adidas sleek trainers - so narrow and feel like they're made out of wood!

But not a bad success rate there!

Philadelphia on a plain digestive. Much better and more like cheese cake.

Fried gnocchi

catinbootsx · 21/03/2021 18:32

Please please, nobody do the MN haircut.

ragtimeloves · 21/03/2021 18:41

silicon loo brush.an expensive brand. ,it was shite ( excuse the pun)

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 21/03/2021 18:42

O'Keeffe Working Hands hand cream - it's not luxurious, packaging is an awful lurid green, but it works.
A garlic twister thing - haven't used it yet, only just arrived.
A weighted blanket - brilliant
Winter duvet cover - the thread was about Christmas duvets, which I hadn't realised were a thing, I got a grey and white set with deer on.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 21/03/2021 18:56

I have found that any perfume recommended on MN I will loathe. Conversely, any that are derided I will love.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 21/03/2021 18:58

crumpets soaked in egg and fried

Graphista · 21/03/2021 18:59

All amazing but £££... Mumsnet is expensive for me!! Grin same

Next clothes - not expensive per item per se indeed I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, but the clothes are so lovely and their delivery options so perfect for me that this has resulted in my spending a small fortune over the last year. I don't order often but when I do I go a bit nuts - I'm now out of drawer space!

My phone contract is up later this year, I generally don't upgrade until it'll no longer update but this phone (iPhone 7) is driving me nuts in various ways one of which is its dimensions (I'm a short arse and have small hands) and on a thread recently the iPhone 12 mini was mentioned which is apparently same size as iPhone 5 was? Which I'm very tempted by, however there's also the new SE might go for that instead. I depend on my phone as I'm housebound, disabled and live alone so actually having a spare not necessarily a bad idea anyway.

So thanks to MN I am now a person that makes soup

I think that's great. I was raised on soup practically so I do find it a little odd when people think it's this mystical, difficult thing. It's the easiest thing to make and very rarely goes so badly wrong it can't be rescued, it's cheap, healthy and filling snd is a great way of using up leftovers and sad veggies

Also it's bloody delicious exactly!

I've cut my own hair for years, the mn haircut sounds like the unicorn technique? Which is what I use there are other techniques of this one doesn't work for you, my dd uses a plaiting technique tons of videos on YouTube especially now.

Many pieces of advice on Christmas gift threads, not specific gifts but cash back and other offers made it cheaper for me.

I'm sure there's more I just can't think of them right now

On a more "spiritual" level I've made good friends on mn that I chat with off board.

Mn is always here, even in the wee hours and when I've suffered badly from depression, anxiety and insomnia it's been a great distraction and I've had amazing support and advice.

I love mn

AdaShelby · 21/03/2021 19:17

The £10 a day threads.

I left my job and make more on side hustles than I did working and work when I want too.

I will be forever grateful to @ottersea.

Bad was sea salt sandals and Charlotte tilbury eyeshadow. It's shit.

crumpets soaked in egg and fried
That does sound quite delicious, I must try it. Grin

The Lakeland heated airer

I cry with rage every time I have to use it. It is so difficult to use and doesn't dry the clothes.

What a waste or £150.

What? How is it difficult to use?? Put clothes on dryer, turn on, zip up cover, come back in a couple hours to dry clothes.
tanstaafl · 21/03/2021 20:42

Cooking bacon in the oven!
Oven on at 180, bacon on greaseproof paper on trays , turn at 10mins, take out 10 mins later.
Wish I’d been doing it years ago.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 21/03/2021 20:43

Indy2please Nutrative, or something like that? Orange lid. Bought shampoo and mask for dry hair.

bonfireheart · 21/03/2021 20:43

There's nothing easier than the lakeland airer.

QuidditchQueen · 21/03/2021 20:47

So many things!
Scissors to cut sandwiches etc
Péage token driving in France saved me many hours over the years.
Ski resorts snd campsites never would have found.
Wonderwater 8sec hair conditioner-astonishingly effective.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 21/03/2021 20:47

I use the What We’re Reading threads to inform my choice of books.
I’ve read and really enjoyed stuff I wouldn’t otherwise have looked at.

Bloodypunkrockers · 21/03/2021 20:50

Well I don't think I'm particularly stupid.

You need to be a Contortionist to hang anything

I have the recommended zip up cover and leave it on all night. Still damp the next day

I truly hate it.

QuidditchQueen · 21/03/2021 20:53

All fed, nobody dead
Love it!

Also - Montalbano books by Andrea Camilleri long before the TV series
Vic vapour rub for toe fungus -miraculous!!

Mellonsprite · 21/03/2021 21:00

Soolantra - brilliant I was desperate
Zoflora - don’t mind it actually
Boots curl creme - fabulous
Gold NB trainers - glitzy but I love them
‘You don’t owe rude people politeness’ - love this
Hyloraunic acid - bought it today and trying it tonight 🙂

Anotheruser02 · 21/03/2021 21:04

Boundaries. Saying "that doesn't work for me". Life changing.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 21/03/2021 21:12

@LyingWitchInTheWardrobe - there was a whole thread on things to have on crumpets about a month ago, but the egg is astonishingly good.

I forgot in my earlier posts - some amazing prints of hares from Etsy, created by a poster here.
