Had plans for lunch with a friend today.
She told me to pre order for 1pm collection and to meet her at her house.
She gave me her order at midnight last night.
I rang up at 10am and booked our lunch (Italian restaurant)
She gets up late so rang me at 12 saying she wasn't that hungry and was just going to have a slice of toast.
I told her I had pre ordered and she said
"Well I can't help it if I'm not hungry"
Anyway I've ended up having 2 pay for both lunches as I pre ordered
And I'm now not going to friends as it turned into a argument of her saying
"Why are you trying to make me feel guilty"
"Not my fault I'm not hungry"
Aibu to think I'm not in the wrong am I ?
Is it a bit cheeky ?

Yanbu

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 19/03/2021 13:00

‘Oi, mate, you owe me £xx amount - I ordered as discussed. Catch up soon’.

Job done.

PlanetPuddle · 19/03/2021 13:01

YANBU Have you asked her to pay for hers?

bookworm29x · 19/03/2021 13:02

YANBU send her the bill.

honeylulu · 19/03/2021 13:02

"Why are you trying to make me feel guilty?"

"Because I've had to shell out for two lunches, shit for brains".

LIZS · 19/03/2021 13:02

Drop it off and she can eat it later.

bookworm29x · 19/03/2021 13:02

How are you meeting her at hers anyway? With the covid restrictions? Confused

RonSwansonsChair · 19/03/2021 13:02

Yanbu, she owes you the cost of her portion.

SimplyMarvellousDarrrrrrling · 19/03/2021 13:04

Agree with LIZS drop it off so she can eat it later , ask for the cash though
Really rude of your friend

dreamingbohemian · 19/03/2021 13:04

So she refused to pay for it? If so then YANBU

Surely she could just have accepted it and warmed it up later

Hopdathelf · 19/03/2021 13:04

So rude of her.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 19/03/2021 13:05

@honeylulu

"Why are you trying to make me feel guilty?"

"Because I've had to shell out for two lunches, shit for brains".

😂
AlexaShutUp · 19/03/2021 13:05

She is being ridiculous, but you should have just said "OK, I've already preordered, so I'll bring your share round in case you want it later. Your order came to £xx, do you want to give me the cash when I come round or would a bank transfer be easier."

As you've missed the boat now, I'd just text her and let her know how much she owes you. She doesn't sound very nice so I probably wouldn't bother with her in the future.

wegetitalmosteverynight · 19/03/2021 13:06

She is part of my bubble as she's a single mum.

She said I should have just cancelled it
I didn't like to do that as I'm assuming they had started to make it.

OP posts:
BrumBoo · 19/03/2021 13:06

She told you to order food on her behalf. It's none of your concern if she's hungry enough for it, she owes you money for her share. Unless you said it was your treat of course

Lacucuracha · 19/03/2021 13:07

Now you know never to trust her or rely on her for anything.

She wants to do this in future? She pays. Even things like concert tickets, let her pay first. You have been warned what she's like!!

wegetitalmosteverynight · 19/03/2021 13:07

She said last night il sort you with the cash today.
Welly dad bless him will be having a nice lunch.
Will drop it off for him as it's his birthday today.

IntermittentParps · 19/03/2021 13:07

Text her with how much she owes you, then bin her off. She's a piss-taker.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/03/2021 13:08

@bookworm29x

How are you meeting her at hers anyway? With the covid restrictions? Confused
Why are there always these type of comments? OP might be in a bubble with the friend or they might not be in the UK!

YANBU. I'd be asking her to pay.

greyspottedgoose · 19/03/2021 13:09

It's not your fault she isn't hungry either 🙄 why should you have to pay?

LilMidge01 · 19/03/2021 13:09

So what if shes not that hungry, she can just put it in the fridge and have it later....

FuckyouCovid21 · 19/03/2021 13:09

Definitely don't let her get away with not paying

MiniTheMinx · 19/03/2021 13:10

I wasn't aware it was OK now to go and have lunch at other people's houses.

notanothertakeaway · 19/03/2021 13:10

Life's too short to stay friends with people like that

I'm guessing she's flaky generally

Chicchicchicchiclana · 19/03/2021 13:11

She sounds exceptionally stupid! Was she drunk when she texted you last night? still no excuse for it.
