Wibu to take biscuits to my vaccine appointment

I've got my covid vaccination this week. I'm very grateful to be getting it and thought it would be nice to take a selection biscuit pack, obviously still sealed. Would this be weird? Would they be allowed to take it for the break out area?

For the staff? They wouldn’t be able to accept anything not individually wrapped at the least (eg. Roses, heroes, celebrations etc)

A lovely gesture but I don’t think they’d be able to accept in the circumstances

Zig4zag · 16/03/2021 21:13

Sorry. Just weird

Howcanwehelp · 16/03/2021 21:14

I might have an in date tub of celebrations left over from Christmas, I could take that?

OP posts:
PanamaPattie · 16/03/2021 21:15

Weird. They’ll just throw it away.

DeeDimer · 16/03/2021 21:15

I think it's a lovely thing to do!

Daphnise · 16/03/2021 21:15

I wouldn't touch anything a member of the public brought in.

Are you mad?

partyatthepalace · 16/03/2021 21:15

It’s very busy, and everyone is masked, so I don’t think they’d be able to do anything with them.

UrsulaBee · 16/03/2021 21:16

It’s very likely they’d binned. Sealed or not, they won’t want to be handling unnecessary items in the middle of a pandemic

sweetpotatopie12 · 16/03/2021 21:16

Nice idea but I work for the NHS in the community and we are told to politely decline anything like that

cheeseisthebest · 16/03/2021 21:16

That's such a nice idea but it wont be allowed.

Titterofwit · 16/03/2021 21:16

I would have taken some if Id thought of it. The do have breaks and Im pretty sure theyve eaten a few biscuits.

Cant see whats different to a donated pack in appreciation to a packet bought from the canteen or shop.

StiggyZardust · 16/03/2021 21:17

I work in a vaccination centre. We really appreciate the chocolate/biscuits/cake that people bring in.
Thank you!

enjoyingscience · 16/03/2021 21:17

I volunteer at our local go vaccine clinic. They are definitely able to accept gifts, and they are very much appreciated :)

Howcanwehelp · 16/03/2021 21:17

I had a feeling it wouldn't be allowed and I understand why. Thanks for confirming, just wanted to say thank you somehow.

OP posts:
StiggyZardust · 16/03/2021 21:17

It is definitely allowed.

Redkatagain · 16/03/2021 21:18

You could take it but don't be offended if they reject it.

There's no harm in offering. I'm currently in hospital and when I leave, I want to make a similar gesture for the staff who have been looking after me.
I have decided that a JustEat or Deliveroo voucher is the best way, so they can order pizza for the staff room.

Properbobbins · 16/03/2021 21:18

I work at a vaccine centre, it’s a lovely thought (thank you) we do get refreshments but as above at ours things like this need to be individually wrapped.

daisypond · 16/03/2021 21:19

Definitely allowed. My DH brought in chocolates for staff at the GP practice when he had his vaccine.

Okbussitout · 16/03/2021 21:19

Honestly don't bother they will have no idea how it's been kept and need to not all touch the same thing. It will just to waste.

If you wnat to show appreciation donate to a health charity.

GailLondon · 16/03/2021 21:19

Well I was working as a marshal at a vaccination centre tonight and someone came round with a tub of roses that had been given, while I was out in the cold manning the car parks. It was very much appreciated!
Pre wrapped sweets like celebrations seem a good bet and a lovely idea OP

Tinty · 16/03/2021 21:19

A friend works in a vaccination centre and keeps posting pictures of the lovely treats people give them. I think they would appreciate chocolates. Smile

User63 · 16/03/2021 21:21

I volunteer in a vaccine centre and a couple of people have donated food like biscuits. It was very gratefully received

Halo1234 · 16/03/2021 21:22

I would say that's 💯 fine.
How is it any different from buying them in a shop? Accepting them from a patient accepting them from a shop assistant. Dont get why it would be a problem. The box can be wiped down and they are individually wrapped.

cheeseisthebest · 16/03/2021 21:22

Oh I was wrong! Thank you to all of you are volunteering, you are amazing

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 16/03/2021 21:22

@Howcanwehelp

I might have an in date tub of celebrations left over from Christmas, I could take that?
And have people dipping their fingers in to a box or tin? Individually wrapped or not - no. Also many people are trying to eat healthily given the role obesity has played in this pandemic.

You don’t need to do anything other than say thank you very much.
