What age did you have you babies?

My mil has said that because I'm 30 this year we'd better get a move on and have babies soon because otherwise I'll be too old.. Hmm

I'm having yet another miscarriage so this feels a bit of a slap in the face tbh. I know that the risk increases with age but I'm 30 not 50!

Aibu to tell her to go away and I'll have a baby when I've lost weight and if that's a year or so who gives a shit

30 isn't old! There's women having babies into their late 40s ffs..your mil seems nasty to come out with that
I was 19 and then 25 when I had my 2 and didn't want anymore, as didn't want a huge gap between older and younger, I'm now coming up for 40 and half my life has been raising kids, it's now me time.

Two miscarriages aged 36, first successful pregnancy at 39.

alphabetti · 18/03/2021 20:58

20, 22 and 37. That’s it for me now mainly as the baby is a terrible sleeper but I had a miscarriage at 36 and wouldn’t want to go through that again.

  1. When my daughter was little I was in a weird age limbo between other mums at baby groups. I was about ten years younger than most, or 5/6 years older than the others.

Now she's ten and I'm the youngest of my group of 'mum friends', most are early to mid 40's with their eldest in years 6.

I’m 49, with a three and four year old. I’d say a third of the children in DC’s class have parents in their mid to late 40s. However, the mum I am closest to at school is 26, with three children. We have similar values and the same outlook in life. Age doesn’t really feel that relevant. We parent very similarly (she just spends less on hair dye than me!).
