To want to lose my shit!!!

My 13 year old daughter has today been told by a 13 year old boy in her year, 'fuck off you immigrant, you fucking Somalian immigrant, go back to your own fucking country.'

Why? Because he wouldn't let her pass in the corridor to get to the lunch hall and she asked him and his 5 friends (all also blocking her path), to move. They refused so she went around them and this was his response.

My daughter is Indian. She reported the incident, the boys own FRIENDS confirmed he had said this to her and then the school called me.
He will be 'sanctioned'. I may well impose my own sanction by contacting the Police.

So there we have it ladies and gents, 2021 is no different to the 80's and 90's when I was at school being told the same thing.

That’s absolutely appalling. I’d take that as high as possible.

AllTheCakes · 16/03/2021 16:31

That’s horrible, you poor daughter. I would go to the police, a sanction doesn’t seem to go far enough.

Alittlebitlostrightnow · 16/03/2021 16:32

Yeah, don’t let this one drop. That is pretty horrendous. How is your daughter?

JengaNonConfirming · 16/03/2021 16:33

That is disgusting. Your poor daughter having to face this Flowers

hardboiledeggs · 16/03/2021 16:33

This is disgusting. Absolutely take it as high as possible. I will never understand why people think such things, honestly. Wee arsehole needs to learn a lesson. So sorry your Daughter had to deal with that.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 16/03/2021 16:34

It's disgusting, but was is the sanction?
What do you want it to be?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 16/03/2021 16:34

Vile little shit.

I'm sorry your DD had to go through that.

What does 'being sanctioned' consist of at her school?

VerityWibbleWobble · 16/03/2021 16:36

I know they won't tell you how this child is sanctioned but I hope it's a severe enough punishment that includes calling the police, cc'ing the school governors.

Your poor dd having to put up with this.

PineappleCakes · 16/03/2021 16:36

I would contact the police if I were you, and the local education authority if applicable. That's a hate crime IMO and needs recording.

Often my daughters and I receive racial verbal abuse in the street and can't report that, but in your DD's case you know the perpetrator so I would report report report. Flowers

BeetyAxe · 16/03/2021 16:38

Wee shit. Do not let it drop- police as it is a hate crime. Time this sort of shit stops. And I say that from my own privileged white position. I am so sorry that your daughter, and you, have had to put up with shit like this.

Bluntness100 · 16/03/2021 16:38

I’d also report this. I have no idea what sanctions the school means but racist attacks like this are not acceptable

Call the police. And report the ignorant little shit.

movinghousetoday · 16/03/2021 16:45

I agree, I'd contact the police

Hope your daughter is ok Thanks

TokyoSushi · 16/03/2021 16:47

I'm absolutely horrified on your behalf, I don't think that you would be unreasonable to go to the police. The boy needs to learn that his behaviour is very far from OK, and fast.

Washimal · 16/03/2021 16:47

I'm sorry your DD experienced this. Disgusting behaviour. A 'sanction' could be anything from losing break time to a fixed-term exclusion. Did the school not outline exactly what the sanction would be? At the school where I work you and your DD would be told if the perpetrator had been excluded/isolated. You can go to the Police as others have said but honestly, IME even when there is an actual physical assault involved if it takes place on school premises they are very reluctant to criminalise young people. The vast majority of the time they take down all the information then say it's a "school issue" and that they are "happy for the school to deal with it", in other words they don't take any further action. I'm not saying that to deter you, obviously you should do what you think is right, just warning you that it's very unlikely to lead to any action.

bumpdownthestairs · 16/03/2021 16:48

Yep, call the police. They can see to him, hopefully makes him realise how disgraceful his behaviour is and that's the last time he does it! A detention is hardly going to do the job is it? I hope your daughter is ok! She shouldn't have to put up with this shit.

SunbathingDragon · 16/03/2021 16:49

I’d also contact the police and take the matter higher than the head. It’s totally unacceptable.

Vursayles · 16/03/2021 16:50

I’m so sorry. I would also contact the police and demand that the boy’s parents are brought to the school for a face to face interview with the head. I wouldn’t accept any less than that. The school have to take this very seriously, “sanctions” could be anything. It’s a hate crime.

OneDayAtATime1305 · 16/03/2021 16:50

I'd 100000% call the police - hate speech right there!

CoffeeNeeded2019 · 16/03/2021 16:50

Hi Op,

I’m so sorry that happened to your daughter today. It’s absolutely disgusting behaviour and you have every right to lose your shit.

I’d be reporting it to the police and asking the headteacher what the ‘sanction’ entails.

I hope your daughter receives an apology Flowers

SylviaPlath1984 · 16/03/2021 16:50

Absolutely report to the police, it's a racial attack and a hate crime. Your poor daughter doesn't deserve to be treated like that and the scum bag who said those things needs a wake up call, let his parents have the embarrassment of a police call to the house because their son is a racist little prick.

Cassilis · 16/03/2021 16:51

What a little dickwad. Hope the fucker is excluded and fails all his exams.

Don’t let this go, OP.

Notimeforaname · 16/03/2021 16:53

All of this..

halllftheworllldawway · 16/03/2021 16:54

The little shit needs to be taught an appropriate lesson.

I would report this to the police and expect him to be spoken to by them about hate crimes and racism.
I would be appalled and ashamed if that was my child.

Catlover8926 · 16/03/2021 16:55

@DM1209 racist events (even at 4 and 5) have to be reported with the local authority. I’d make my first step checking that has happened and the school aren't covering it up internally.

Timeforabiscuit · 16/03/2021 16:56

Please contact the Police, its appalling your daughter faced this, I would want the school to be all over this - but this requires serious consequences.
