She performed at her usual level.

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/03/2021 12:48

The mental health help just sounds odd - two confident people in their mid 30s, both multi millionaires, one who has had counselling and been involved with mental health charities but they were denied support?

And frankly, as someone whose MH went to shit in my second pregnancy, the person who I expected to support me, to ensure I got help, was my husband. If she was somehow refused help then the first person to look at is Harry.

I'm not really team either, but some of this just doesn't ring true. The title, the second wedding, not googling...

JovialNickname · 08/03/2021 12:53

I am team Queenie, although I can't get too excited about any of it really. Nice to have something to talk about other than Covid though!

Obviously PP made the skin colour remark. Is there anyone at all that doesn't think he makes racist comments? He's famous for it Grin

I have no doubt Meghan has had a hard time of it, from both the Palace and the media. But not knowing how to access MH support when she's a MH ambassador, with all the privilege and money she had at her disposal - not believable. As is having her actual legal marriage 3 days before the Royal wedding, or Archie being refused a title due to his skin colour (demonstrably false.)

What I don't understand is that, from the outside, Harry and Meghan got everything they wanted, and more. They got the freedom they desired. They moved to LA. They are free to cut their own path in life, and make the Netflix deals etc that they want. They are not restricted by Royal protocol any more. They are free to bring up their family wherever and however they choose and have all the money they could ever need.

So why are they still complaining? I just don't understand.

Anordinarymum · 08/03/2021 12:55

@DarkMutterings

^Team middle ground.

Boring I know. But am a big believer in that there are 3 sides to every story. Side A, side B and the truth.^

This x1000

Excellent post. Agree
Scoobydoobywho · 08/03/2021 12:57

I'm not 100% sure what Harry and Megan hoped to achieve from doing the interview. But if it was to stir up more trouble for either side, I think they have done that.

JovialNickname · 08/03/2021 12:57

I feel a bit sorry for Charles. "How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is..."

Digcho · 08/03/2021 12:58

I’m by no means a Royalist but have some respect for HMTQ and her work for almost 70 years now.
Harry has an over inflated sense of importance, and unfortunately married someone with an even bigger ego. MM came over to UK with the aim of bagging a rich man, she thought Harry was billionaire status and her lifestyle in the BRF would reflect that. When it became clear that her job would be boring and unglamorous she couldn’t get out quickly enough. Harry is rich, but doesn’t have the money to meet MM’s demands, so he’s been touting his only currency and selling his late mother’s name. I believe that they were married before the £40m spectacle, but it happened in Africa, not in their garden 3 days prior. The pair of them are beyond disgraceful.

OuiOuiKitty · 08/03/2021 12:59

It wasn't that she wasn't physically capable of calling a doctor, it's that she was under intense pressure not to, because of the circumstances she was in at the time.

So where was Harry? When my dh was suicidal I was his advocate. I went with him to Dr apps, I spoke for him when he couldn't, I kept going and going until he was well again. It cost us an absolute fortune and was one of the reasons I couldn't afford to access care my mental health.

I don't know it doesn't ring true that neither of them could access private counselling with their wealth. I honestly don't understand? They can keep their pregnancies secret until they announce so they do go to Dr visits without anyone finding out. Why would these visits be any different?

If she genuinely felt like she couldn't access mental health care then it was her husband who failed her massively.

CeibaTree · 08/03/2021 12:59

I'm on team don't really care. But what struck me skim reading the papers this morning is that MM was woefully unprepared for royal life. I know people used to call KM waity katie as she and William took years before they married, but she seems to have used those years learning the ropes. The blame for this whole fiasco lies solely with Harry for rushing into marriage without letting his fiancé know what she was getting into.

Roussette · 08/03/2021 12:59

Some of you are such hypocrites.

Day after day, week after week, month after month, you went on about how awful it was that Meghan made Kate cry.

Not it has come out that it's the other way round...it's blown out of all proportion, pathetic, and ffs she's a 40 year old woman.

Well... you laboured the point for about a year how awful it was before when it was Meghan making Kate cry.
Now it's irrelevant.
Just listen to yourselves

LikeWaterForSoup · 08/03/2021 13:00

@RaspberryCoulis

And the "oh we actually married three days earlier" - WTF? I bet the GRO are getting a lot of requests for a copy of hte marriage certificate today, because it's a matter of public record. Unless Ms Markle is alleging that they committed registration fraud, with the collusion of the Archbishop of Canterbury?
As I said before I only judge Meghan on what she says and does. The fact that she says "actually we got married 3 days earlier" is incredibly rude and childish.

Either (a) they did get married 3 days before and what we saw televised was a sham, a show and and act or (b) they did not actually get married 3 days before and Meghan lied on camera. If she lied about her wedding on camera with PW or if their wedding was but a staged act, what else did M&H lie about?

JovialNickname · 08/03/2021 13:00

Oh and on top of crocodile being Archie's first word (yes all three syllables, it has been confirmed) his favourite word now is apparently "hydrate". Yes of course it is

EerieSilence · 08/03/2021 13:03

Team: Popcorn and coke on the sofa reading the forums and newspapers.
I don't think any of us really knows what the story is.

MrsWhites · 08/03/2021 13:03

Team palace here. None of what they say rings true to me - Harry has sought therapy in the past yet she wasn’t allowed. She had her passport and driving license taken off her and wasn’t allowed to meet friends, yet she still married him and took a duchess title, putting herself under the control the palace apparently asserted on her even more. She didn’t google protocol or the royal family at all - yet in previous interviews she has said that she was obsessed with the royal family when she was young!

It just doesn’t make sense! I don’t understand why they got married in the style that they did, took all the press attention, the titles and therefore the roles within the royal family if she was so uncomfortable and hated it so much. Why not turn down the offer of the titles, get married in a more private way and make it clear from the off that you want to live a more private life away from the glare of the media and the ‘control’ from the royal family!

Anordinarymum · 08/03/2021 13:05

@DeeCeeCherry

Dr Shola on This Morning put Piers in his place. Good. A slimeball who's openly obsessed over MM for years, bolstered by support of his incitement of hatred of a woman.

A man who hacked a dead child's phone, has been photographed with decidedly dubious men, holidayed abroad during Tier 4 Covid...

But it's MM he's stalking so it's cool, isn't it? He's the right type. She isnt, so people turn a blind eye.

& White male privilege rides again.

Happy International Women's Day.

Agree with you about Morgan. Slimy slimy slimy
Roussette · 08/03/2021 13:05

@Wroxie

Great post. And very interesting to hear from someone who is in the acting profession.
It's like comedians... they are often not happy people, and suffer with their MH.

VestaTilley · 08/03/2021 13:06

Team Windsor.

Harry and Meghan are seeing slights where none were intended (eg the title for Archie) and they’ve made things so much worse for themselves by doing this interview.

AngelicInnocent · 08/03/2021 13:06

Given that the "Palace" has an in house medical team which includes mental health for both the family and the staff, and the fact that Harry is well known to have had counselling previously, and the fact that they consult with medical staff and nothing gets published until they decide, I struggle to believe that she had no opportunity to seek help with her mental health.

patternnews · 08/03/2021 13:08

@redferrari

I find it really sad Meghan couldn't get help or speak to someone about her mental health. Isn't it an irony that the Cambridge's are driving the campaign for mental health?
But surely more ironic that Meghan's husband was also part of this campaign shortly before his marriage? All three were heavily involved in launching the HeadsTogether campaign around the 2017 London Marathon. Harry gave an interview to Bryony Gordon around that time about his own mental health struggles, including having counselling, so it's an extraordinary claim that he, as a high profile supporter of an MH charity AND a beneficiary of counselling, was somehow unable to get MH support for his own wife, because his dad/grandparents/staff said no.
yaddayaddaa · 08/03/2021 13:12

What annoys me is that the RF felt the allegations about Megan’s alleged bullying of staff were so serious to warrant a statement.

YET WHERE IS THE STATEMENT ABOUT ANDREW? Were those allegations not deemed serious enough for a statement? AngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

The whole set up is a joke. MM can bugger off as well because I don’t buy all the wide-eyed woe-is-me. This “mental health” label just gets bandied about these days and it diminishes the voice of people who are actually mentally ill. Name me one person on this earth who doesn’t experience depression or anxiety from time to time. And she’s seriously telling us she wasn’t able to get herself some help or a doctor? She doesn’t need to approach “the institution” or whatever she calls it for permission to see a doctor or therapist - pick up the phone you daft woman.

She is a very beautiful woman and knows full well how to manipulate people to her advantage. I liked her up until this point and thought good for them for getting out of the nonsense and going to US. But now she just comes across like any other fake, narcissistic Hollywood celeb and Oprah has done herself no justice here either. The whole faux shock, hands in the air, at what clearly was an interview script that was rehearsed and manipulated to the letter. Do they think the world can’t see through them? So fake.

The RF are hideous but so is the bleating, vapid Hollywood mentality that MM and Harry seem to aligning themselves to. We will have years now of them ad infinitum - swanning about like the Prince and Princess of Santa Barbara - morning about press intrusion, while inviting the press into their mansion to see “real life - at home with the Windsors.” They will be the next Kardashians at this rate.

Mintjulia · 08/03/2021 13:13

I can't help thinking that for a couple who want to escape the public eye, going on Oprah is a funny way to do it.

FuckyouBrennan · 08/03/2021 13:14

Have they given any explanation as to why they apparently married 3 days before?

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 08/03/2021 13:15

I guess whilst this is all going on nobody is taking about the peado so I guess the palace is ‘winning’...

Nodancingshoes · 08/03/2021 13:16

Neither
If the comment about the babies skin is true, and I can well believe it is, then that is appalling. I imagine we all know who it was that said that...However, moaning about being cut off financially is unbelievable- they are multi millionaires who chose to leave. The public would have been up in arms if we had continued to finance them. The queen knew that and acted accordingly.

Whammyyammy · 08/03/2021 13:19

Don't care either way. I hope all involved can resolve their differences and crack on with life
