Yes - Team Meghan

No - Team Windsor

Nothing - Don’t really care!

OP posts:
shamalidacdak · 08/03/2021 11:46

This was purely for revenge because they got cut off financially. That is all. It's about the money and the titles and nothing else. The irony that it is a Black woman who will bring down the monarchy.

MildredPuppy · 08/03/2021 11:47

Mainly Meghan. Except the title thing for a great grandchild. Primogeniture is a stupid system.

Acesulfame · 08/03/2021 11:47

Neither. There’s good and bad and fault on both sides as I see it. Like most situations, there are no “heroes” and “villains”.

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 08/03/2021 11:49

@sleepyhead

I'm Team Let's Abolish The Monarchy and the whole weird profession of courtier and they can all go off and make their own ways in life like everyone else.

A friend's son used to be a footman and the whole set up sounds utterly bizarre, not even mentioning an actual member of the RF.

This ^ The whole thing needs to be abolished and Prince Andrew needs to speak to the FBI.
Neotraditional · 08/03/2021 11:50

@Pyewackect

A billionaire interviewing two millionaires in their $16m Montecito manson on how awful their lives have been.
💯 . Absolutely nauseating and so self-centred.
SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 08/03/2021 11:50

Team Palace all the way.

All the way.

If you are going to drop little shitey bombs everywhere you had better be detailed and go for a proper accuse so that the person/people concerned can defend themselves. Not that they will because they have more class.

You can’t drop an accusation and leave it open to who said what.

As said on the now deleted thread, they’ve well and truly burned their bridges and have acted like victims/bleating arseholes.

No time for either of them now, which is a pity because I was so happy for them at the start and thought they would be wonderful for the monarchy.

Masterclass in acting though - I’ll give them that.

ATieLikeRichardGere · 08/03/2021 11:52

We’ve all had a terrible year and this whole drama feels a bit tone deaf to real world struggles. People are dying and losing their jobs but our attention is turned to a fight over TIGHTS between two rich people. It parodies itself.

Dissimilitude · 08/03/2021 11:53

To bring down the monarchy, you have to actually sway public opinion in the UK. I doubt very much this whole Oprah thing plays well to the British public, outside of already-convinced republicans.

They'll weather this.

DrSbaitso · 08/03/2021 11:55

I absolutely know the importance and value of money, but I can't be the only one who realises it is quite possible to be rich and completely miserable.

Wroxie · 08/03/2021 11:58

I am a trained actor and worked in movies/TV for years (If you're over 35 or so and watch a normal amount of movies and television then, yes, you've probably seen me in at least a couple of things, no, you are very unlikely to know my name or have any idea who I am) and I find this 'she's an actress' thing particularly stupid. Being an actor doesn't mean you're really good at hiding your normal human feelings and/or that you're cold and unfeeling, which seems to be what the 'BuT sHe's aN ActREss' thing is about. I would even go so far as to say that many actors I know are far LESS likely to be good at hiding their feelings and staying cool and collected in stressful personal situations than non-actors, just because of the personality type that tends to be drawn to the industry to begin with. There are many different ways to be a good actor (is Markle a good actor? I've never seen Suits) but in my experience 'being super fake and unfeeling' isn't one of them.

Anyway. As I've said earlier in this thread, caring about the royal family is sad and pathetic but I am also sad and pathetic because I take it personally when people assume that actor=cold, unfeeling bitch on the take.

Anon778833 · 08/03/2021 12:02

All the royal brown nosers, I have a question for you all.

His can you be supportive of a bunch of people who look the other way and hang around with child abusers?

I’m not just talking about Andrew I’m talking about their revolving door for Jimmy Savile, who was able to visit their homes whenever he liked for years and years.

If you think the royal family didn’t know what he was up to, you’re incredibly naive at best.

Anon778833 · 08/03/2021 12:02

How can you be supportive*

Alleycat1 · 08/03/2021 12:05

As I said on another thread it is possible that questions were asked re skin colour of the baby so that systems could be put in place to protect him from racism should be turn out to be darker than his mother. If the palace courtiers and RF knew that M was suffering from it then surely it is feasible?
Also, one poster thought it was awful that the RF had raised the question of M being a bully just before the interview. It was the courtiers who brought it up !

isitfridayyet1 · 08/03/2021 12:05

Team Meagan!!!

ssd · 08/03/2021 12:06

I cant help but laugh at the team windsors here

If any of the royal family met any of you they wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire

The subservient doff capping still going on in this country amazes me

Mind you, so many of you love a posh accent, look at the people being shafted by the government's right wing policies who are team boris all the way....

harknesswitch · 08/03/2021 12:07

I honestly can't believe they did this now. Harry's grandfather is ill, we're in the middle of a pandemic, nhs got a 1% pay rise, people are dying, losing jobs, suffering with mental health and they are moaning, mud slinging and whinging about being cut off financially. I can assure you that even being cut off financially they are far better off than I could EVER dream of being. They only had the money Diana left Harry - oh boo fucking hoo.

I'm sorry she lost her baby and had a miscarriage, having been there myself and had mental health issues I know how hard it is, but so have an awful lot of other women. People who don't have the resource that M&H have, who don't have the luxury of private health care, can't afford to get the bus to their gps etc.

I'm sure there are two sides to every story. But M&H have chosen to go public in this, what outcome do they expect? They can't expect to get an apology, they went to be heard? I'm at a loss as to their motivation tbh.

Emeraldshamrock · 08/03/2021 12:09

I remember well on other ‘Megan’ threads it was trotted out she was a horrible so-and-so she made Kate cry over bridesmaid dresses how awful, how disgusting, Kate had just had a baby, how could Megan do that to her.
This.
She is defending herself against gossip and hate.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 08/03/2021 12:11

Met me for about all of two minutes and remembered my name when met again a few years later.

Peppafrig · 08/03/2021 12:13

They have got what they wanted . They have raised their profile in American with as much media attention as they could possibly muster. They know the royals will keep a dignified silence .

52andblue · 08/03/2021 12:14

@Cowgran

Team middle ground.

Boring I know. But am a big believer in that there are 3 sides to every story. Side A, side B and the truth.

This! @Cowgran

It’s a calculated PR move for them. The most telling thing for me is that according to them every person within the ‘firm’ from courtiers to family are against them, yet they go out of their way to praise the Queen. They’re aware nothing good would come from criticising her. Yet she heads up the entire organisation. How can she be absolved of blame? If this was really going on then the Queen is as guilty as anyone and it’s absurd to treat her like a little old lady who just wanted to be kind
This and this again.

I hate PR. It's all a game for those in it,they don't give a toss for the outcome. Of course the 'you go for it and let it all out but you leave the Queen out of it' was always going to be part of the rules. The goal is to win public sympathy and endorsement and that's only to going to happen if you follow the rules.

This desperation to seek public sympathy at such time is just a slight step up from popular girl at school who demands a round up because some members of the team don't see her as the bee queen any longer.

52andblue · 08/03/2021 12:18

But, in the wider context, what @SugarbabyMilly says is also true. Odd disturbing & potentially criminal. Also, I think less of Charles if he did refuse to take Harry's calls - that's a horrible thing to do to your child.

DeeCeeCherry · 08/03/2021 12:19

Team piss off outdated Royals and MN goady racists
