Actually I did post the quote in bold. If you don't know how the bold quoting works, that's on you Smile

Yes - but you didn't post the name of the original poster in your bolded quote.

You really are making yourself look silly whining about someone having the audacity to respond to your post and not the original
poster that you yourself failed to name and have totally neglected to respond to the substantive point.

@TheWayOfTheWorld nope, you're making yourself look silly whining that I haven't used the quote function because I have quoted differently to you, instead of RTFT to see who I was quoting.

It's been said often that Charles wants the royal family slimmed down when he succeeds. Removing existing titles would be unlikely so the only place he could prune would be within his own line - most likely by making it so that only the children of a current or future monarch would be prince(ss). His desire to slim down has been talked about for a long time (well before Meghan) as had his irritation with B&E being princesses - given that B&E are the equivalent of Archie it seems feasible he has long had the intention that Harry's children would be in line for title pruning. Now of course if he tries to do this he'll be accused of racism

I don't think that accusation would stick. Archie already has no title, they're living in California and no longer working Royals, there's a big question as to whether Harry himself should keep his title of Prince ( though I don't expect the Queen and Charles to strip him of it) so their baby girl being titled Miss won't be a political problem.

Charles has the right idea about slimming down the monarchy in order to modernise. Certainly if he has William's support in pushing through such a measure, as it's Charlotte and Louis' children who therefore definitely wouldn't be Prince or Princess, then I wouldn't see a problem. Would think it would have the majority support of the British public which is what matters.

I reckon William and Kate will do a good job of preparing Charlotte and Louis for their adult roles, Princess Anne is a shining example.

These two are so embarrassingly entitled and self indulgent that it’s insulting
And sadly that's what will stick to them whatever they say.

Certainly over here. I think the perception elsewhere is different, the more left US seem to love them.
Wondermule · 09/03/2021 11:30

The US love them because they haven’t paid millions for their house renovations and wedding. They’re the worst of us all for loathing their public funds being misused.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 09/03/2021 11:58

I think also, in the US, what Meghan and Harry say is taken as gospel; mainly because there’s a naturally limited understanding of how the Royal Family works. As such, while much of Britain watched last night and thought ‘Hang on - Archie was never entitled to be a Prince’ and ‘Well of course she had to curtsy to the Queen’, a lot of American viewers will have assumed that, because Meghan said that Archie should have been a Prince, that’s the truth, and won’t understand that Meghan ranking below Kate is a case of protocol rather than preference.

You are unreasonable for encouraging more racists to say they don't see colour then list ridiculous reasons for hating a woman of colour.

Proudboomer · 09/03/2021 12:06

I was on the fence but now I am firmly in team Queen

aSofaNearYou · 09/03/2021 12:10

I think it's frankly ridiculous how quickly people have turned this into a Team Meghan vs Team Windsor binary, instead of turning their attention to the people that are clearly the biggest villains - the press and the vulturous public consuming it. As if we haven't had enough major stories in the last few years proving just how lethal that can be.

But then perhaps that would bring on a few too many home truths for a lot of people.

wewillmeetagain · 09/03/2021 12:20

She was also clearly lying when she said she didn't know who harry was! She stated she had been friends with Eugenie for years, yet she didn't know who her cousin was? Erm ok then Meghan!

Lol maybe they understand only too well. The RF works like a Jeffrey Epstein kind of scenario, where they do WTF they like and get away with it for years, until enough people call them out on it and the govt is forced to listen.

I just cannot believe Meghan really wanted her son to become one of these land-grabbing medieval puppets.

The thing is, you may not look at Meghan and "see colour", but your perception of her is inevitably shaped by her media portrayal (how else do you know anything about her?), and that portrayal is itself shaped by absolutely indisputable racism. So even if you, like everyone else, wouldn't dream of judging her by colour, you're forming all your thoughts based on her presentation by people who are.

workshy44 · 09/03/2021 12:39

She doesn't talk to her family and now he doesn't talk to his. I'd say the truth is somewhere in the middle but it is hard to take what they said seriously when they are clearly lying about some aspects. She didn't know what being a royal involved or much about Harry. It is well documented her fascination of Diana. I mean his previously girlfriends publicly stated they left as they couldn't handle the press and intrusion
I think she wanted good press not privacy. That being said the press were awful to her. They will do well in America out of it but she will be the bigger star and once that happens I would say Harry will be replaced by some mogul - dim isn't the word for him.

Cowgran · 09/03/2021 12:51

@TheLumpySofaCushion I don't think it means no one is telling the truth as such. But rather that every interaction we have is interpreted through our own biases, expectations, assumptions and belief systems. So two people won't necessarily experience or describe the same event in the same way.

dontdisturbmenow · 09/03/2021 13:08

She would have got much more sympathy and support coming on MN with a 'sorry had to name changed as could be recognised' Grin

No public dirty laundry and she would have got pages of sympathy with only her side of the story.

Then this is an issue with the royals in general. Hot H&M.

He says he will keep hounding her through the press until she speaks to him. What a great parent.

It is, but it also hates Meghan.
