Mine are:

Being exceptionally good at slicing bread (straight, even slices every time, even on squishy, unevenly shaped loaves)

Uncannily accurate at guessing the time when I haven’t looked at a clock for hours - I’m never more than a few minutes out.

Tell me the things you can do that are not that impressive!

Mine is a joint one. After a big meal/entertaining a crowd, we can clear up the kitchen to a spotless standards in minutes. We are a like a pair of Winston Wolfs, but better. We don’t even speak whilst doing it. We are like two ballet dancers and the kitchen is our stage. I’ve been told is beautiful to watch.

FaintlyMacabre · 05/03/2021 22:12

Cutting the right amount of butter or cheese by eye.
Making exactly the right amount of gravy/sauce to fit the jug without measuring anything.
Reading upside down- not sure if this is a super power or normal, it’s not something that comes up in conversation!
I do the reading everything too, I can’t pass a sign or notice without reading it so I take in a lot of information about my surroundings.
Would love some of the superpowers above- I have a terrible memory and am quite uncoordinated!

AlanSugaryTea · 05/03/2021 22:14

Following years of one to one teaching across a table I can read upside down as comfortably as ‘right way up’.

I don’t understand why people aren’t more interested in/impressed by this superpower

CatSickYellowSocks · 05/03/2021 22:14

So good at faces. Even if I’ve only met you once I’ll remember where and when. Great at internal time telling, total rubbish at birthdays tho!

2020iscancelled · 05/03/2021 22:15

I’m really good at guessing stuff. You know when people say “guess how much this bag was / guess how old this person is / guess how much this house is listed for” etc. Nothing specific, just random guessing Grin
Anything, random things.
No particular expert knowledge and no exceptional general knowledge.

I’m just REALLY good at guessing random stuff.

Munkeenut · 05/03/2021 22:15

@CuntyMcBollocks

I can fold fitted sheets perfectly every time.
Witch! This is dark magic
laughoutquiet · 05/03/2021 22:16

I'm the Bin Queen of our street. I swear everyone waits for me to put my bins out so then they can do theirs, safe in the knowledge that they have got the right ones for that day out.

waltzingparrot · 05/03/2021 22:16

I can reset all the clocks in the house when the clocks change. If DH does it, he has to get out all the instruction manuals for cooker, microwave, dvd player, alarm clock etc etc but I just fiddle and work it out.

Nora1978 · 05/03/2021 22:17

Can literally always find the end of the cellotape. I’m like a homing pigeon. Just waiting for it to become an olympic sport.

LemonDrizzles · 05/03/2021 22:17

Smelling when broccoli is cooked when boiling

looselegs · 05/03/2021 22:17

I can bend over and put my hands flat on the floor without bending my knees.
I'm 52 and overweight but find this easy.

Welshponyslave · 05/03/2021 22:17

I am really good at spotting Deer. A lovely skill but pretty useless!

Covidatemyhomework · 05/03/2021 22:18

Yes - I have the time power too! I can wake up in the middle of the night, not look at my clock and I can usually guess the time to within 15 mins

Angrymum22 · 05/03/2021 22:18

I can do the time thing too and a gold medalist at cutting bread very straight. I can also make brilliant Yorkshire puddings despite never weighing or measuring ingredients.

Nydj · 05/03/2021 22:19

I can make beautiful fluffy rice in a saucepan using absorption method with no water left in the pan. I am extremely proud of this skill.

I am absolutely rubbish at remembering people’s names and faces - it is embarrassing.

TiddleTaddleTat · 05/03/2021 22:20

I'm good at estimating quantities , like guessing the number of sweets in a jar for example. Comes in handy when selecting the right container for rice or pasta. And summer fairs...

FourTurnings · 05/03/2021 22:20

I can wiggle my ears. Never met another person who can.

Angrymum22 · 05/03/2021 22:20

Oh and I supernatural powers in finding things that other people have lost or cannot find. Particularly at home and at work.

Thelnebriati · 05/03/2021 22:21

@FourTurnings

I can wiggle my ears. Never met another person who can.
I can wiggle my ears one at a time or both together!
Catonaroof · 05/03/2021 22:22

I consistently open my packets of tablets at the not-annoying end, the end where they aren't hidden by the leaflet. 👍

InkyPinkyPonky95 · 05/03/2021 22:23

I'm great at minesweeper Grin

Branleuse · 05/03/2021 22:23

Im good at spotting fossils and four leaf clovers.
Im also good at remembering songs and lyrics

Slurtdragon · 05/03/2021 22:24

Facial recognition, within seconds. My partner thinks I’m bloody brilliant!

indemMUND · 05/03/2021 22:24

Ooh, also! I have magic hair that curls perfectly in the rain, I'm very pleased with that one Grin

Atalune · 05/03/2021 22:25

I can recall every item of clothing my children have ever worn, where it’s from, who gave it to them, where they wore it, how much it cost. I just know. It’s all catalogued in my head. Is this a skill?! I think it will be useful if they are lost maybe?

I’m unbeaten at dobble.

I can harmonise with most melodies.
