AIBU to think that Prince Harry is coming across as the most tone deaf and hypocritical member of the RF right now?

Yes the guy lost his mother in a tragic way at a young age. (So have many) Yes he was forced out into the public eye in the middle of grief (which was horrific at the time and worse on reflection) BUT he is now an adult man with a family and access to life of extreme privilege yet he cannot seem to realise that him publically complaining about his lot in life and telling the rest of us how to behave is distasteful. Also, the petulant way he seems to communicate with the media is just undelining his immaturity and lack of awareness. By which I mean, the potshots in statements and rapping with James Corden and his pathetic man of the people schtick. If you want to be Hazzer give up your title and STFU!

AIBU?

I've had four large bumps and never felt the need to cradle them or keep touching them.

Great. Does this have any bearing on what other women should do, do you think?

randomer · 26/02/2021 18:19

How does some tubby, not very funny bloke get to be best mates with Haza? Now thats the real question.

thetell · 26/02/2021 18:21

Harry is great, he came across as shocker a likeable human being in the James Corden interview, they have had a rough time (could you really have coped with marrying in to the royal family, even if you thought you knew what you were doing?!), their mental health was affected and like anyone else going through awful times they had to make some changes to survive. Watch this space - they are on a journey and I think they will end up being liked again by the people who dismiss them now. Give them 10 years, I reckon they will have happy, well adjusted children, a fun family life, be making their own way financially and will be able to mend their relationships with the family over the other side of the pond too. Lets just give them a break for a few years to catch their breath!

I've had 2. I can't remember my bump touching tally, and thankfully the world's press wasn't there to document it.
OldRailer · 26/02/2021 18:22

He's a phenomenon I don't understand.

To those who say it's easy to avoid Harry Windsor. I was searching through my radio hoping to find live coverage of Alex Salmond. Instead I got Harry talking on 5 Live!Grin

He's far far FAR richer than Hazza. And quite powerful in the US media through his very successful production company. He gets Harry ratings and H&M need ratings now.

So? Do you think everyone is like you?
They're not.

I am amused. I think we have some royal ladies-in-waiting on here with 'I don't like her tone' and
'Her behaviour means blah blah'

Who do people think they are?!

ElspethFlashman · 26/02/2021 18:25

I was just listening to a Classic Gold very uncool radio station and suddenly the music was interrupted by the DJ about to play a snippet of the interview.

In the spirit of "Just don't listen to it if it annoys you so much" spouted by some on this thread, I almost broke my ankle untangling myself from my sofa throw in an effort to get up fast enough to turn it off.

Moomin12345 · 26/02/2021 18:26

Remember the time he dressed up as a Nazi? Publicity does suck tho.

Yet equally, you’re here. Contributing to this thread.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 18:28

@thetell
I so agree with you.
I've said it elsewhere. This is a journey for them and within that journey is, let's hope, some slimming down and modernisation of the RF. I hope and think change is on the way. I also think they will surprise a lot of people. But of course those that hate them are never going to change their minds.

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 18:29

Elspeth it requires some speed and dexterity today doesn't it!

Yes it was discussed earlier in the thread.
OldRailer · 26/02/2021 18:30

Yes I remember.

Do you not have a remote control?
slashlover · 26/02/2021 18:31

It's been known for a long time that harry was a complete nightmare behind the scenes but the palace PR did a fantastic job of covering it up!

Ok, how do you know this? Do you work for the palace? Are you mates with Fergie?

If the palace can cover that up then how do we all know about William's alleged affair?

Moomin12345 · 26/02/2021 18:32

I'm not interested enough to read this thread cover to cover, but the Nazi costume did scream "I hate attention". Wink

ginghamstarfish · 26/02/2021 18:32

Can't say I care much about them BUT if a public figure stands up and makes a big thing of wanting 'privacy' blah blah, then is frequently seen in newspapers etc, with their carefully staged and released photos of them doing 'good works' then I am inclined to find them very annoying indeed. Want privacy? Fine, but kindly feck off and don't bother the media about everything you do, or you come off as a massive hypocrite and attention seeker.

TheKeatingFive · 26/02/2021 18:33

BUT if a public figure stands up and makes a big thing of wanting 'privacy'

And what if they didn’t ever actually say this? What then?

You should read it, it's very interesting and illuminating.
AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 26/02/2021 18:34

What did you do during the great covid pandemic of the 2020s?

Well, I heroically took to my computer keyboard and moaned on the internet about a bloke I've never met and who doesn't even know who I even am.

Good work - your grandkids will be proud.

thetell · 26/02/2021 18:34

@Roussette I had a hard enough time marrying in to my husband's family. Its a weird time for anyone - new baby, new in-laws, people giving you advice about your baby, no sleep, feeling your whole world has tilted on its axis because you couldn't have realised how much you love this completely vulnerable baby you have given birth to. Most mothers (and fathers) suffer some sort of realignment at the least, or some mental health issues at worst.

Times those issues by a million, throw in the world's media, death threats against your baby, racial attacks on social media about your wife, the judgement of a huge raft of the population on your parenting skills, as well as your Granny deciding to slim down your job title so that you have to give up a lot of freedom for a fairly limited role.
I would have made the exact same decisions for my new family.

The environmental stuff I don't agree with though - think the jets have to go.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 18:35

Do you not have a remote control?

Ok, sorry but 🤣😂🤣

I am Shock at the number of posters who want to see the back of them, wish they would go away, they never want to see them again, they can't stand their stupid messages, or whatever...and yet... know more than I do about them lol

MilyMoo · 26/02/2021 18:35

@Radio4Rocks

He's all me, me, me. Just like his mother.

Have no time for him and his whining. Just piss off and live quietly and stop courting the press you supposedly hate.

This! He is behaving incredibly like his mother, courting the media when it suits him but crying about them when it doesn't.

And devote their precious time to discussing them on here 😆
