To be angry with my neighbours

So long story short had a bit of a run in with the neighbours a few years back, both me, my DH and the guy next door have moved on from it but his girlfriend hasn't.

The girlfriend will ignore us if walking past and refuses to take any parcels in now (which is fine). She doesn't work so she's always at home while her man works, so normally around lunch time each day she throws out the leftover food from the night before. She throws it out onto the street outside her driveway normally more so over our side every single day.

This evening while I was in the kitchen shes came out of her house and chucked food directly right in front of our car which is parked in our drive way.

I am livid beyond words because its evident that it has been a deliberate stunt and now I'm left with what should I do.

AIBU for not wanting to let it go, being one to many times it's happened.

YANBU I'd really like to pick the food up and dump it all at her door step 🥴

ScrewFix do a decent indoor motion detector camera for around £30, if you have a good view of the area from a window then set it up there. There's an app to watch live or download videos to a phone or with an SD card you can record everything. Cheaper than a Ring doorbell and you can move it to wherever you get the best view too.

pipsqueakbollock · 25/02/2021 22:37

My old neighbour had a pizza delivered every night (from Pizza Hut which was 1000 yards away)

He was a hoarder. His cat shat inside the property and he's now at her Maj's pleasure cause he was caught with paedo images on his
PC('s)

People who eat pizza every night are definitely suspicious.

Ring doorbell all the way.

Ilovemypantry · 25/02/2021 22:38

@TerryHearn

Well, yes I do, have been feeding the foxes for about 15 years. Mostly I feed them dog food in bowls but if there’s any leftovers from dinner I put that out too. It’s always all gone by the morning.

NoSuchThingAsTooMuch · 25/02/2021 22:42

@CavernousScream

She throws waste food out onto the street? Where do you live, the fifteenth century?

@Stoppissingonmyheather

What??? That is totally disgusting I thought dogs were bad enough. Omg here is what you must do... 1)film her several times and keep records 2) phone environmental health 3)get a rat and post it through her letterbox 4)phone rentakil or the equivalent and let them know there is a giant rat infestation at her house and send them round there 5)throw food back in her garden or collect it all pile it up by her front door with a note with mental health service teams contact numbers and some dead rats
Get a rat? Pile up some dead rats? Truly, there's been a definite slippage through the wormhole here.
user1471538283 · 25/02/2021 22:43

She does what? I would ring the council and tell them. This will encourage rats. I know as I lived through the 1970s bin strike. And it's so common.

FrangipaniBlue · 25/02/2021 22:44

I'm inclined to think she's doing it to attract birds around your car so that it gets covered in bird sh!t........

Confused
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 25/02/2021 23:06

unfortunately it is 100% real. He only ever eats pizza from the takeaway shop. As strange as it sounds

To be honest, they both sound like they're one slice short of a deep-pan Margarita.

We used to regularly get 'pavement pizza' outside our digs as students (lived near several takeaway outlets) but at least that had been afforded the dignity of being (temporarily) enjoyed for its intended purpose - before subsequently ending up 'shouted' in front of somebody's front gate.

You're probably right. Ooh, if only there were a shop called Wilko's that sold actual bird seed for a tiny fraction of the price of half of a takeaway pizza every night....

Does he even want the pizza, or is she insisting on it every night and Mrs Doyling him into eating as little as he can get away with without appearing rude?

crunchiess · 25/02/2021 23:12

@CavernousScream just snorted Grin

Op, as pp have said you need to record her or if you don't want to risk causing tension by going to environmental health mention it to her partner.

A previous neighbour used to throw whole baguettes/loafs of bread onto their flat roof extension for the birds. One day I looked out of our upstairs window to see the bread covered in maggots Envy She was elderly though with dementia setting in I think.

tara66 · 25/02/2021 23:17

Not read all PP. Why don't you take dated photos and send them to sanitary dept. of your local council? She is attracting all kind of vermin - rats, mice, foxes. She sounds deranged.

boredinthouse · 25/02/2021 23:18

OP this sounds so familiar, I think we might share a neighbour. There surely can't be two scruff bags only eating takeaways and throwing the remains on the drive 🤔

Marpan · 25/02/2021 23:18

@Bluntness100

That’s absolutely disgusting, honestly I’d video that and send it to environmental health. There must be something wrong with her mentally. No one chucks their food on the street like that. And assuming she’s not mentally well, I’d not be wanting to get all up in her face.

BlueThistles · 25/02/2021 23:32

@M24L

It appears to be take away leftovers, always leftovers of a pizza including the white plastic bit which is normally placed in the middle of the box.

She walks past her bins to chuck the food onto the street so clearly no intention of using the bins for the waste.

omg is she for real 😱

prize for the weirdest post on mums net

Well the reply about posting a rat through her letterbox was weirder don't you think? ( Or was it pile of rats?)- it's late, Im off to bed

mrsbyers · 26/02/2021 00:00

She will probably claim to be feeding the birds

Portla · 26/02/2021 00:04

8 pages in an not one person has asked for which toppings are on the pizza? Maybe she gets extreme rage just by seeing the pineapple!! Grin

Your local council won't be too impressed. Restaurants doing similar would face action! Next time go out and ask her politely to stop, say you've noticed rats or something and wouldn't want them getting in her house. If that doesn't work you might have to consider contacting your local council.

Shrivelled · 26/02/2021 01:25

I’d shovel the food waste into a bin after she does it. Store up a few weeks worth or more then empty the entire contents on her doorstep with a big note saying “you dropped something and I retrieved it for you, you’re welcome”. Takes some effort on your part but totally worth it.

ARoseDowntown · 26/02/2021 01:29

Pizza every night, for one.

There are leftovers.

She has enough about her to put the box in the recycling.

She throws the leftovers in front of your house, not her own.

It’s 100% a drugs drop. They smoke at night, too stoned to deal with it, dispose of evidence the following day. He can’t afford to buy a week’s supply, or it’s too risky.

Do the birds that eat the leftovers fly off in a straight line?

1forAll74 · 26/02/2021 01:38

I hope you wont mis-time anything at all, and go out front,just as she is about to fling a pizza, and it hits you in the face, but you will have some evidence of her odd ways then.

NoseinBook3 · 26/02/2021 01:42

Pick it up and throw it back just before her OP comes home. So bloody unnecessary. I’d get a camera!
