I'm intrigued.
Some days I don't brush my teeth until after lunch! I have got in the habit of rolling out of bed, brushing my hair and pulling on clothes then go downstairs just as the morning meeting starts. Then shower and brush my teeth on my lunch break and eat my lunch at my desk! 🙈

working from bed
mid-day baths
keeping my hair in a struggle bun

FreeFallingFree · 25/02/2021 20:43

I have attended a lot of training sessions where the laptop has been on the kitchen counter while I was making lunch/ on the spare room bed while I was hanging up the washing and on one occasion on the bathroom floor while I was having a bath (Though I did put a piece of gaffer tape over the camera for that one.)

Thelikelylass · 25/02/2021 20:44

I have showered and groomed myself using all my lively toiletries. I dress very day and put make up perfume on and only once in the whole year did I stay in bed in pjs and work - I was ill. I had to for structure.
BUT / I've put a stone on and ate a fecking truckload of toast - my toast variations are magnificent!

grassisjeweled · 25/02/2021 20:44

To be fair, MN isn't a total waste of time. I've had tons of work help, especially tech related

Silvercatowner · 25/02/2021 20:50

Garlic. So much garlic. And chairing important meetings with a cat on my lap.

1Morewineplease · 25/02/2021 20:56

Not wearing a bra and having old tv series on in the background whilst waiting for my work to load up.

8obbingabout · 25/02/2021 21:05

A drop of rum in my
morning coffee? Halo

BatshitCrazyWoman · 25/02/2021 21:21

I've eaten way too much chocolate.

On the plus side, as I only drink when I go out, I've given up alcohol for the moment!

user143677433 · 25/02/2021 21:27

A question for those working while watching Netflix- how do you concentrate? It would ruin my productivity, but I’m not the best at multitasking.

cakeallday · 25/02/2021 21:33

Not having a proper lunch break.

Wearing loungewear on the bottom half all the time so no clue if I'm too big for my work clothes!

And can your feet suffer from constantly wearing slipper boots and not real shoes?! Grin

LST · 25/02/2021 21:35

I don't wear a bra anyway, but I no longer really get dressed. I wear the same 3 pairs of joggers. The same t shirts, which normally get slept in and the same 2 cardies or jumpers. I only go out to walk the dog. I can now go 3 days between hair washes and I am eating shit and drinking too much.

Other than that... I'm fine!

FredaFlintstone · 25/02/2021 21:39

@user143677433 I always wonder the same. Sometimes I have have music on through Alexa but occasionally even that has to go off as it stops my full concentration, never mind the TV!

ghostyslovesheets · 25/02/2021 21:44

used to be out of bed by 7am and on the road for 7:30

Now I fall out of bed at 8:30 - and - if my first meeting isn't until 10 I'm in bed with a cuppa until 9:30

In my defence I normally work Mon-Weds but and working every day at the moment as there is bugger all else to do - so I'm still over my weekly hours even being a lazy twat

also we moved from phone line meetings to Teams after Christmas and I resent it as I have to get dressed!

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 25/02/2021 21:48

Working from sofa instead of desk

Keeping two stunt blouses - polyester so no ironing, and I leave them buttoned to pull over my head - at the side of the sofa for video meetings. Then take them straight off again.

Snooze at lunchtime.

Shower every third day.

ElectricMistofelees · 25/02/2021 21:48

Knitting during “camera off” meetings. And orchestrating reasons for my camera to be off so I can knit. I find it gives me a feeling of productivity during meetings which really could have been an email.

BettyOBarley · 25/02/2021 21:53

Definitely too much sitting and not being active enough. I didn't realise how much getting up, walking to the toilets, walking to the photocopier etc I did until WFH.

I'll be glad when the kids go back to school and I'll be back in my routine of getting properly dressed/make up/hair before work because those people who catch you out by unexpectedly turn the video on during a call and expect you to do the same are the worst! Grin

Jaffajam · 25/02/2021 21:55

Snacking. I feel disgusting and now have even more weight to lose Sad

InsideNumberNine · 25/02/2021 22:00

I second the secret stash. I found DH chomping my Fruit Pastilles the other day. Not happy.

Ditto rolling out of bed at 6.59am and at my computer at 7.00am wearing t shirt and dressing gown then having a shower at 9/10am once I've blasted through all my emails.

MNetting through the four hour sales meeting, or ordering my Tesco shop.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 25/02/2021 22:01

Huge amounts of mid-afternoon chocolate, all hidden from DH too as I don’t want to share. I put on weight during lockdown and have lost it again recently, but I can feel it creeping back already. Must up the running!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/02/2021 22:05

I’m teaching live via Teams, always camera on, so can’t get away with as much - but since March I have gotten a bit wiser to it all.

If I don’t have a 9am lecture I get up at 8.30, switch on, then shower/breakfast.

I get dressed/hair/makeup as normal, but will often change into joggers after lunch.

I time giving students tasks to do along with household tasks - so ask them to come back to the call in 15 minutes, having done XYZ, in which time I will have unloaded the washing machine or dishwasher.

We have frequent management/staff townhall briefings with cameras off, and I just have those rolling while I do my own thing - during the last one I made a curry.

My cat likes to sleep in my work chair, and will often sit on my lap while I teach. The students really like seeing her pop up!

LochNessSwim · 25/02/2021 22:06

I go back to bed between 7-9am (once our nanny arrives), then wake up at 9am, log on to work, dash to shower, put on full make up and hair and I’m back to my desk by 9:25am 👏 Usually I’d be on a train at 7am

AChickenCalledDaal · 25/02/2021 22:10

Saying out loud all the things I used to think inside my head during interminable and soul-destroying meetings.

So far, always with the microphone muted.

FelineUK · 25/02/2021 22:14

Not wearing deodorant and I smell like a bag of cheese and onion crisps but I don't care! All those years of wearing the stuff knowing it's had some bad press and I could finally go without it. I did go without a bra for the first few weeks working in my dressing gown but thought that by the end of this pandemic my boobs would be down to my feet! And no make-up :-)

I must say, I have never watched tv whilst working, only perhaps to watch any breaking news.. but have gone on some longer walks or had personal appointments, taken some time out to do a bit of gardening, but made up time later or on other days working sometimes til 8, 9 or 10pm.

Not looking forward to going back to work as 3-train commute was really getting me down, just so packed.

Oh god...yes saying things out loud 🤣
IEat · 25/02/2021 22:15

I don’t get dressed unless I have to go out.
