Aibu to think that serving potatoes at all with salmon en croute is just unnecessary carbohydrates

Further to the thread on boiled potatoes, from what I could glean not one person pointed out that you are serving carbohydrates with what should be already an ample portion of carbohydrates in the pastry. We have salmon en croute with extra green veg to fill everyone up. Is it just me or do people not get what a healthy portion (especially carbohydrates) actually is? Don't get me started on garlic bread being served with pasta.......🤬

I'm currently having a pot noodle and crisps.
This thread has made me want buttery bread with it.

I am OP's dream today!
I opted out of potatoes so just had lemon sole and green beans because I am planning on ciabatta with bjlurrata (i scored in yellow scticker lol) with olive oil and balsamic.
It's that giant ciabatta though. But it's just 1 carb!😂

Hmm, the worst chip shops I've been in were in Manchester and Bath. So no clear north south divide.The one in Bath had the edge on crapness. The fish was one of those battered portions you get in boxes of 4 (or whatever) in Iceland. And there was a handful of clearly reheated chips with it. And it was very very expensive. I've noticed that chip shops/takeaways in the south don't seem to do specials or meal deals? Maybe it's just the ones I've been to but no pizza, garlic bread and chips for a tenner 😱. How do these people get their cheap multiple carb fix after a night out?

Best chip shops I’ve been in were in Craster, anstruther and pittenweem. Also a mobile fish and chips in the Borders.

From the pizza or kebab shop. You don't get garlic bread or pizza from a fish & chip shop.

Best chop shop in UK was in Oban

Best in England is Aldeburgh in suffolk
Worst was in Cornwall.

You do in Scotland. We even have the famous 'pizza crunch'. Pizza deep fried in batter. (Never tried it)
