Salt & vinegar crisps

Aibu to feel that Salt & vinegar crisps are disgusting? I don't eat them but my DS does. The smell makes me absolutely wrench.. Smell like some toxic rancid window cleaning products. No other flavours of crisps bother me but Salt & vinegar crisps just make me feel so ill, just the smell. I need to leave the room when anyone is eating them, then I need to open windows and wipe down all door handles and furniture etc afterwards. And don't even get me started on the grease stains made by my rather messy Ds. Anyone with me on this?

Ooo I love em!!!! Especially when they actually make your top lip sweat because they are so strong 😂. I don’t think they smell? Not compared to Beef or Canadian Ham?!! - and don’t get me started on Skips 😂

While on this topic....whilst visiting the UK off we go to get some crisps. And I see something that is very very wrong. Salt and vinegar crisps in a green bag and cheese and onion in blue. No, no this is is just not right. It should be the other way around. Salt and vinegar should be in a blue bag and cheese and onion in a green one. It's still bothers me that you have it the wrong way around.

Although I don't mind salt and vinegar I generally go for ready salted. They are in a yellow bag.

I don't like them, but would not go to such extremes, as opening windows, and wiping down door handles if someone else eats them. I Don't like anything with vinegar in, it's too acidic for me.

Wipe down door handles and furniture? That's a bit extreme.

Salt and vinegar is amazing, especially M&S Kettle-Chips-style salt and balsamic.

I am so with you! Absolutely disgusting. I turn the tap on for DP on the rare occasion he is allowed to have them so he can wash his hands thoroughly after. Yuck.

I assume your comment is meant to be light-hearted? DH would think I was very odd (as would I) if I tried to dictate what flavour of crisp he could eat. Is your DP allowed to interfere in your crisp choices?

I had a friend many moons ago who taught primary, genuinely thought a child was ill because he’d been eating prawn cocktail skips at lunch.

I don't love s&v but I'd eat them if there was nothing else and they're perfect for seasoning a home made sandwich. The best crisp flavour ever is Walkers Roast Chicken 🔨 gavel

I'd be more annoyed at people eating them and leaving greasy fingermarks afterwards - if your DS is old enough to eat crisps then he can learn to wash his hands afterwards (and clean dirty marks on surfaces), no?

Cheese n onion crisps stink and so do bbq flavours. S and V is mild in comparison!

S&V crisps are one of the most delicious foods there is. The best - in my very extensive experience - are these from the Co-op, though Tyrell's are also quite good.

No, but I feel exactly the same about roast chicken crisps, I avoid buying them for DCs as much as possible. If they do have them they eat them in their rooms with the door shut as the smell is just 🤢

Prawn cocktail crisp smell reminds me of working in gynae theatre c. 1971 not envy.
Nic Nacs are even worse.

Not my first choice in crisp flavour, but they work with a cold bottle of Becks when hungover.
