Am I the only woman who has never been sent a dick pic?

Or any other sexually aggressive message online?

I am, of course, in nothing but happy about this, but a lot of people talk about how women are constantly bombarded with obscene messages online.

Maybe it's because I haven't online dated since the turn of the millennium (yes, I'm that old)? Dick pics and horrible messages were definitely a thing then, but never got any.

I occasionally get random blokes trying to friend me or message me on social media, but I always block, so might have been dodging a bullet there.

@Ginfordinner it makes me block them! I don't even respond anymore. I once tried the tactic of "why did you send that? What makes that OK?" but was met with "I was drunk". Or "it was my friend, we are on a night out and he took my phone". Or to be told I can't take a joke and it was banter Hmm. So my option is to block them or to "cause a scene" and out them. Which I dont want my name associated with. Some have been random men I went to school with but others are well educated and in good careers. I have worked in several financial offices over the years and find these to be the sleaziest men. Their position and power makes them feel they can't be touched. Also their power has proven appealing to the younger ladies in the office (who probably just want to further their career to be fair) and they feel they're gods gift.

Luckily i have never had anyone I directly work with or need to liase with / work under send anything.

I've never had one either, thank goodness! Had a few other dodgy things though. The one that springs to mind is the guy who had an obsession with feet.....

Mydarkside · 03/03/2021 21:40

Had loads and not just from OLD

Workinghardeveryday · 03/03/2021 21:43

I’ve never sent one, why would anyone?

IckyPop · 03/03/2021 22:48

Nope! Lucky/unlucky us (depending on your view) Grin

Me neither, thank goodness. But what puzzles me is why on earth do men think that a picture of their dick could be even remotely attractive, let alone alluring. It might be the centre of their universe, but why in God's name do they believe it is something that women actually yearn to see?

I have no idea. Personally I find the sight of a penis the least attractive part of a man. Grin But whilst I love my DH dearly, the older I get the more I realise I don't understand men. He would be baffled by the idea of sending a dickpic and that makes me love him more.

Alternista · 03/03/2021 23:47

I don’t think men do it because they think it will turn you on. I think they do it to see if they can force your encounter onto a sexual level without you “making a fuss”.
It’s a power play and it’s grim.

TheVanguardSix · 04/03/2021 00:03

Nope. Never. In my day, you got to see a lot of unwanted wanking in metro stations... back when you could still smoke on the platforms and the ringtone of a Nokia brick was a twinkle in Tapani Jokinen's eye. No dick picks back then. But the game Snake was on the horizon.

Waspnest · 04/03/2021 00:05

Yes, sadly that's probably true. I guess it's the ultimate red flag.

It really does baffle me as to why men love their dicks so much. Only blokes would come up with the idea of a circle jerk. Such a dick move, literally. Grin

Waspnest · 04/03/2021 00:13

What the hell is a circle jerk? (scared to google!)

Something only blokes would think up! Grin
It is a circle of males jerking off.
