To still not having anything to eat because of what someone said

We get meals made for us at work when we're on shift so the chef used to do it for us which is lovely. A few weeks after starting, I was eating and my supervisor said what have you got so I told her what I had and she said you've got too much there it was sectioned for other staff which I had absolutely no clue about! I hadn't touched it so I said fine I will put it back and she said there's no point now and I said no, you've said it now so I will put it back in the fucking kitchen. I got up and went to give it back and the chef said is there something wrong with it, I said not at all I realised that I need to leave now to pick up my little one. I never have lunch at work now and just wait until I get home and the supervisor still asks me if I'm having any lunch and I always say no. Surely by now she realised how much she has offended me? It's been months and it still gets to me.

I've definitely read this before.

VettiyaIruken · 17/02/2021 19:25

I'm not sure that you going hungry is going to be making her feel bad like you want.
Can't be nice for you though.
Stop pouting about it and eat lunch.

PegasusReturns · 17/02/2021 19:26

Can anyone link to the previous thread?

I suspect it was deleted like this one will be.

I have a Q though OP: Did you think people wouldn’t recall your previous post?

SoupDragon · 17/02/2021 19:28

You were offended because your supervisor told you you were eating food meant to be shared between several staff members...?

AnExcellentWalker · 17/02/2021 19:28

@yarncakes - just take your own food to work for lunch if it makes you more comfortable.

There are some really unpleasant replies on this thread. It's obvious that the OP is sensitive around food, FFS.

Brefugee · 17/02/2021 19:31

If you'd have spoken to me like that after a few weeks you'd be out on your ear.
If you took a huge portion knowing others hadn't been through (undiagnosed eating disorder or not) I'd have been furious too. That's plain rude.

If the chef had dished it up, why didn't you just politely tell her.

as pp said, not eating the food is really showing her!

Jackie2022 · 17/02/2021 19:32

Hasn’t this been posted before?

MessagesKeepGettingClearer · 17/02/2021 19:34

You've completed over reacted. You need to learn to take advice/instruction/criticism at work. You made a mistake, so be it, the fact you're still rejecting lunch is really silly and only hurting yourself.

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 17/02/2021 19:40

@sunflowersandbuttercups

I've definitely read this before.
Me too.

It reads like a reverse anyway.

ChancesWhatChances · 17/02/2021 19:42

@AnExcellentWalker the OP being sensitive around food means she gets to act like a stroppy 3 year old? Think it’s far more likely the OP is incredibly immature with no self awareness. That leads to stroppy 3 year old behaviour more than sensitivities (which don’t usually come with the tantrums).

Yep, I've read this before too. Didn't believe it then either.

Hoppinggreen · 17/02/2021 19:44

If I was your manager I wouldn’t care if you were hungry because I would have sacked you

Createsuser · 17/02/2021 19:44

I mean, I see you were offended but you might want to let that go now

nimbuscloud · 17/02/2021 19:45

Why are you doing this ???

BronwenFrideswide · 17/02/2021 19:47

Are you sure you are old enough to work, OP, because you certainly don't sound it.

zigaziga · 17/02/2021 19:48

Did you really say that and march into the kitchen?? ShockShockShock

slashlover · 17/02/2021 19:49

Is this the same supervisor you've complained about before?

RedcurrantPuff · 17/02/2021 19:53

Grow up, you sound about 12.

pcmcgregor · 17/02/2021 19:53

Repeat thread

lioncitygirl · 17/02/2021 19:54

You swore at your boss?! 😳 you would get a disciplinary for that where I work. And yeah - do you really think she cares you’re not having lunch?! You’re cutting your own nose off here....

user1471447924 · 17/02/2021 19:54

Gosh.

DogsSausages · 17/02/2021 19:57

Blimey, grow up and move on.

ToadsThePeanutButterSnob · 17/02/2021 19:58

That's nice.

NoCherryNoDeal · 17/02/2021 20:00
