Pancake day - what's the normal amount of pancakes to eat??

waitingforautumn · 16/02/2021 18:27

Having a bit of a debate. Family think 6-8 is normal. I have friends who are done after two.

How many do you typically put away??? Grin (hint: make me feel better about the fifth one I'm about to have...!)

Am talking about crepes btw.

Bariatric surgery? Check with the doctors wife see what’s her expert opinion

WorriedMillie · 16/02/2021 21:33

We only had them for dessert, one each, but crepe suzette!
DD had a cheesy pancake for her main course and a sugar and lemon one for dessert (there are a few left over, so she’ll probably extend pancake day for a day or so)

DuesToTheDirt · 16/02/2021 21:35

2 each, no one could manage the leftover one. But they were filled with leeks and other veg and slathered in cheese sauce, so pretty filling.

idontlikealdi · 16/02/2021 21:35

Mine because the bloody children used all the eggs. God knows how many they ate.

TatianaBis · 16/02/2021 21:36
@TatianaBis Do not vicariously try to assume understanding clinical work if you don’t practice it
You literally have no idea if you’re not doing it. You’ll get the edited version that’s all. You don’t carry the responsibility

You simply cannot claim to get it,by proximity or after dinner conversation . Doesn’t work like that

So do not claim you’re motivation for berating other posters is clinical. It’s nothing of the sort
Don't invent a perspective. At no point have I said my motivation was 'clinical' what utter tosh.

Nor have I claimed to carry the responsibility for the work.

I simply said I have to deal with the stuff he brings home. Which is merely a fraction of the total he carries.

FatCatThinCat · 16/02/2021 21:38

If he carries on like that, yes.

You really think 2 eggs, 100g of flour, 300ml of milk, and 3 tsp of sugar once a year will mean bariatric surgery further down the line? 🤣

PurpleDaisies · 16/02/2021 21:42

I really don’t think what someone eats on pancake day is necessarily representative of their every day diet.

Fifthtimelucky · 16/02/2021 21:44

3 each, as pudding, with lemon and sugar. I make them very thin and they are only small (made 12 with 1/2 pint of milk).

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 16/02/2021 21:45

@TatianaBis At least someone gives a shit about surgery complications eh? that someone isn’t you

you don’t deal with surgery or giving shits about complications in theatre.

Surgery complications, not your lookout. You do however inflate your significance and use that to berate posters

SusannahSophia · 16/02/2021 21:46

6 big ones with sugar and lemon or maple syrup. It was al least 2 too many, but so delicious.

SenecaFallsRedux · 16/02/2021 21:49

We're having American pancakes, three for each of us (DH and me), with butter and maple syrup, plus bacon.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 16/02/2021 21:49

Would have been two and most of that squirreled into the wastepaper bin down the side of the sofa out of a sense of weary obligation, but DP blindsided me with the only edible pancakes I've ever encountered.

So I had four. Or six. I think the syrup, sugar, lemon juice and lemon curd has affected my ability to count.

I've been well under TDEE every day for months. One day a year won't kill me.

Meh.

aramox · 16/02/2021 21:50

5 (me, over two meals) , 7 (ds 15)

TatianaBis · 16/02/2021 21:51

Nope. I said "at least someone gives a shit about surgery complications".

Did not say that person was me. It ain't.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 16/02/2021 21:53

Correct it isn’t you @TatianaBis so don’t be so pompous

Egghead68 · 16/02/2021 21:55

2 for breakfast, 2 for dinner.

bluecricket · 16/02/2021 21:55

I pushed the boat out and made crepe suzette which was lovely but to be honest it was a faff and I missed the simple lemon and sugar ones. So guess what we are having tomorrow with the left over batter.

MangoButterFingers · 16/02/2021 21:55

As many as it takes to feel sick. Then one more Grin

This is normally 3-4 as a dessert.

Slippy78 · 16/02/2021 21:57

Damn it, I hadn't even realised.

Let's hope the supermarket is still open in an hour when I finish work.

MangoButterFingers · 16/02/2021 21:59
@TatianaBis sorry for your DH, I bet he’s not looking forward to the post-pancake day spike in colossal pancake-stuffed patients. Flowers
pourmeanotherglass · 16/02/2021 21:59

3 thin ones - 1 savoury, 2 sweet

Slippy78 · 16/02/2021 22:00

Has to be with sugar and a squeezy plastic lemon though....

funinthesun19 · 16/02/2021 22:00

I had 2. That’s definitely not a normal amount. Should have been at least triple that amount..

TatianaBis · 16/02/2021 22:01

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee

Correct it isn’t you *@TatianaBis* so don’t be so pompous
Rich coming from you. But at least the invention has stopped.
KeepWashingThoseHands · 16/02/2021 22:02

Best topping for a pancake... MORE pancakes!! Ba ba boom!

There is no limit, you should approach it like Woman V Pancakes.
