Oh well

About as exciting as it gets these days!

Mrsjayy · 14/02/2021 15:17

The roads are sheet ice here so no home bargains today Sad DH said we could do BnM and Aldi during the week to make up for it Grin

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 14/02/2021 15:28

I have to go to the post box once a week for work... I walk past 2 postboxes & go to the third to make the outing last longer.

purpleclaire · 14/02/2021 15:36

My highlight this week was going to my mammogram appointment!

purpleclaire · 14/02/2021 15:44

My son has an orthodontist appointment on Thursday. It's the first one that a parent has been allowed to attend - to discuss his plan for treatment. I'm so cheesed off that DH has decided he must go, as he had a brace when he was young...and so, has experience of this type of thing...that's his excuse!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 14/02/2021 15:52

My 5yr old has a medical appointment tomorrow, he keeps telling his sisters hes going for a day out with mummy, its equally amusing and sad.

Davros · 14/02/2021 16:21

Visits to the dump have been a highlight of our Lockdown. All the crap essentials I've bought online produce a lot of packaging.

Thelnebriati · 14/02/2021 16:36

Davros You mean you don't keep the boxes? What if you need a box? Shock

Bedforme · 14/02/2021 16:45

Nothing in the next few weeks but got some medical appointments, but ages away. Pre Covid would not imagine a telephone orthotics appointment. Now amazed at a routine epilepsy appointment that will be face to face.

Bedforme · 14/02/2021 17:07

Have I killed the thread? No one else been on any exciting adventures to the supermarket or the tip?

ErrolTheDragon · 14/02/2021 17:21

It's Sunday afternoon, bedforme - nothing exciting should be happening now. It's the one moment of normality in the week.Grin

QueenofBrickdon · 14/02/2021 17:36

All 4 of us have COVID. There was much excitement over the visit to the test centre!

Highlight of the year so far I reckon!

ssd · 14/02/2021 17:50

Ah shit @QueenofBrickdon
Hope you all recover ok

"That's £37.59

Do you want the receipt?
No it's fine thanks
Bye
Bye'

Happy days

I'm taking DF for his first vaccine tomorrow "just in case" he needs someone to drive him home after it, can't tell you how excited I am to sit somewhere else and read a book while he's in!

ssd · 14/02/2021 17:57

What age is he?

TheInebriati you sound like DH. We used to have to keep every box for everything, our loft was full of them. Now I will keep boxes for something expensive for maybe a month and the rest go out

QueenPaw · 14/02/2021 18:04

I'm going to the dentist next week AND have a hygienist appointment. First time in 18 months
Oh and it's a 30 min drive Grin

CatsMother66 · 14/02/2021 18:52

I booked my car in for a service and MOT next week.
The garage is 40 minutes away, rural, with gorgeous scenery. I cant wait!!!

happylittlevegemites · 14/02/2021 18:56

I’m a podiatrist. I know I’m the social highlight of the week for most of my patients :D

Justmuddlingalong · 14/02/2021 19:03

I've booked a few nights away in a different part of Scotland for July. Last year's big trip to Mexico was postponed until this year, but as the chances of that happening is nigh on zero, I've booked 4 nights in a hotel. The thought of a train journey, a wee break and change of scenery is actually more exciting than an fortnight in the Riviera Maya. 🤞 we'll be able to have a local holiday at least.

JovialNickname · 14/02/2021 19:06

I missed a royal mail parcel delivery the other day, and was ecstatic to receive an invitation to the sorting office! Like, properly excited to have somewhere to go.

Justmuddlingalong · 14/02/2021 19:10

DP had to pick up his new specs from the opticians on Friday. That's the calendar empty for the rest of the month. After the waste of money that the 2020 calendar turned out to be, I'm questioning my sanity in buying one for 2021.

JovialNickname · 14/02/2021 19:12

Oh and I went to Wilkinson last week, and they had their in-store radio up quite loud in the gardening/outdoor furniture area. Closest thing I've had to a party in months

My local tesco does that, I think when the boss leaves about 9pm the youngsters put on their own playlist, I couldn't tell you one song (is that what they're still called?) But it sounds great to hear loud music somewhere that isnt your own home Grin
