I can beat you all. The tenant in my rental flat moved out today so I had to go and collect the keys. THEN I stopped at Asda on the way home. I know how to live

Campions · 13/02/2021 20:11

Several of us caught covid supermarket shopping (separately). That's rather taken the shine off it as an outing for us!

ErrolTheDragon · 13/02/2021 20:17

My exciting outings this week entailed walking on paths through fields round the village which we've never done before because they're usually either far to muddy or full of cattle. But they were frozen rock solid and cowless!

Poppins2016 · 13/02/2021 20:17

I'm looking forward to the next 6 days... I have 2 vet appointments (can't even go into the practice, but nice to have a reason to drive somewhere) and a midwife appointment. This is the most exciting/interesting week I've had in months. Confused

lovemirage · 13/02/2021 20:22

You all have had such an exciting adventures! I am having blood test on Thursday. Usually I hate to go but this time it's nice change of scenery.

DK123 · 13/02/2021 20:24

I get very excited when the Tesco order comes - all the new foods to look through. Getting a fresh baguette delivered with it is the hilight of my week. A while ago I actually went to Tesco, it was great. I looked at the stuff in the Christmas aisle and bought some gloves, pants and bed socks. Fantastic evening out and I hope to go again at some point soon.

PunkAssMoFo · 13/02/2021 20:28

I went to Tesco for the first time since before Christmas. The exciting twist was they had installed a branch of greggs by the checkouts!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 13/02/2021 20:32

@DrRamsesEmerson

Oh, and I went to give blood on Monday. That counted as an exciting outing.
I went a couple of weeks ago, loved it! Got to sit and chat to the lady sticking me with a needle, we talked about the pottery show they had on the big telly. Then spoke to a random bloke in the rest are afterwards while sipping my weak orange squash and eating a penguin bar.
Justmuddlingalong · 13/02/2021 20:32

I bought a new garden gate and all the iron mongry to go with it. An exciting day in itself. The choosing of the paint to use on my new gate practically sent me over the edge.
And the day we hang it will be exciting. And so will the day I paint it.
All of this would have been a pain in the arse chore this time last year, but now? 🤯

weegiemum · 13/02/2021 20:34

I went to hospital last Monday for a regular infusion I get, it takes 3.5 hours. There were 4 of us in the room, socially distanced (all the nurses wear PPE but when we're just sitting there we don't have to). I was able to speak to 3 other women for 3 hours (plus chitchat with the nurses who know me really well, I've been doing this for 9 years now). And have a laugh and some crap hospital coffee. It was so much fun!!

Mrsjayy · 13/02/2021 20:47

*weegiemum" that's like a party!

ssd · 13/02/2021 21:00

It does, it sounds like a fun get together!Smile

@ghislaine

We’re going to the tip tomorrow! Big family day out.
DH has confessed that he has rammed the car full of so much stuff that there is no room for the rest of us!

Currently downstairs stewing at the unfairness of it all.

Tini17 · 14/02/2021 06:58

I took the baby for her jabs two weeks back and got to speak to a receptionist, two patients waiting for their covid jabs, the lovely nurse and a doctor. In person 😱
And then two days later we needed a top up on Calpol etc so also saw a live pharmacist. Living the dream!

By the way is there a link for the different Food Days mentioned upthread? :)

Think it's this:

Friday was amazing. We did a tip run in the morning, and then I had to pop to the shop for a couple of bits in the afternoon.

On Wednesday we all have dentist appointments. I'm so excited I don't even mind that we have to be there for 9am.

Oysterbabe · 14/02/2021 08:58

I go after the kids are in bed and it's empty. I casually browse the middle aisle, it's like a proper holiday.

Furrybutts · 14/02/2021 09:39

Last week my dog needed to see the vet. Non urgent appointment, but was no better the next day so she asked to see him again. My heart leapt a little.

This coming week I am over the moon as both dogs are booked in at the groomers, and my car needs a service & MOT. That will require a drive to and from the garage, and 4 long walks back and to, to and from the groomers.
I will be out for a good chunk of the day, I literally cannot wait!

Mummadeze · 14/02/2021 09:44

I LOVE going to Tesco. I take my time. And look at things in the aisles I don’t usually visit. It is a lifeline at the moment. I totally know what you mean.

SnowyPetals · 14/02/2021 09:47

I am going to the optician on Tuesday. I am planning to combine it with a visit to the bakery. My social life knows no bounds.

Springersrock · 14/02/2021 09:48

I went to Asda on Friday night. They had the music on quite loud - it felt like a night out

I considered cracking open a bottle of wine on the way round Grin

trinibrit · 14/02/2021 09:49

@DrRamsesEmerson

I am so bored I’ve decided to mark Chinese New Year by cooking a banquet. I am not Chinese. There are only three of us to eat it.
Awesome! Since lockdown started, we have been celebrating ALL holidays with the relevant food just to give us things to look forward to and to introduce my son to different cultures. This is a busy 3 week period with Lunar New Year, Shrove Tuesday, and Purim!
RaidersoftheLostAardvark · 14/02/2021 12:59

Loving the Food Awareness days - national Bread week starts on the 20th, better get baking!

woodhill · 14/02/2021 13:02

I had an appointment in a different town so went to a different supermarket for a change as I parked there. Oh the excitement

uncomfortablydumb53 · 14/02/2021 15:10

The highlight of the year so far was a visit to the hospital eye clinic 8 miles away, even took the scenic route on the way home!
