I've reached a level of boredom I didn't realise existed. I spent all morning thinking it was Friday. Idly flicking through Amazon and happened across cat jumpers. So bought one for my cat. Just for something to do. I am honestly worried I'm going to lose my mind soon.

@gerbilfur

Update!!

The jumper came, shoehorned dcat into it, however it turns out she is a little, erm, husky to fit into it. After staring at me angrily from her basket looking like a black and white sausage squeezed into a tight pink condom I took it off. Dcat shot upstairs and still isn't speaking to me.

THANK YOU OP - I have had a very stressful day and this has just made me laugh properly out loud!!

You're braver than I am - my two would skin me alive if I attempted to put jumpers on them 😂

DenisetheMenace · 13/02/2021 00:07

Your cat will probably be too hot. Sorry, I know you mean well 😊

beethecrackon24995 · 13/02/2021 00:13

Insist on a picture with her in it please. Have you seen pics on Amazon for 'cat claw trimming bags' ...

Jeez Louise, @DENMAN03! I'd be sleeping with one eye open if I were you...

My lovely Olaf was king of Cataroo - 15 hair bobbles was his record - I miss him

Is that a pissed off ear down, or is it weighed down with bobbles?

(OT... why do we still call them 'bobbles'? I had bobbles with actual plastic bobbles when I was a kid, but haven't seen any like that for decades. Not that I want any, it's just an odd word to call bobble-less bands).

LApprentiSorcier · 13/02/2021 09:02

@beethecrackon24995 That's so cute. Your cat is like a snowy version of @Toddlerteaplease 's Cheddar and Snorg.

SmileyClare · 13/02/2021 10:56

Glad to hear you weren't mauled to death yesterday Op. Smile

I hope you can make up with your cat today and put this jumper debacle behind you. have you thought about ordering a cat bow tie

breatheslowandtrust · 13/02/2021 11:32

I'm insanely jealous of those of you with cooperative cats. If I didn't suspect a mass murder would occur if I so much as a tempted a bow tie, my dcat would have a wardrobe full of clothes and accessories.

KittekatMP · 13/02/2021 11:41

We do need a pic OP. Those are the rules, surely you know that??

SmileyClare · 13/02/2021 11:52

I suppose you could sketch up some sort of artist's impression of your furry sausage in a tight pink condom. Don't put it back on your poor puss just for a photo!

How you got a tight fitting jumper on a cat in the first place is beyond me Grin

TheNinjaWife · 13/02/2021 11:57

I popped this flower on my cat’s head. I thought it looked like he was going to the races. He was not impressed.

@RandomMess are your cats Somalis?

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/02/2021 12:04

My dog wears coats and jumpers. If I tried it with my cats I would not be typing this now…

RandomMess · 13/02/2021 12:12

@reservoircats indeed they are

WalkingInTheAir13 · 14/02/2021 10:58

@TheNinjaWife

Very appropriate for Ascat!

Crunchymum · 14/02/2021 18:37

Cat in a (Christmas) hat.

Sadly our gorgeous girl is no longer with us. She was feisty and a jumper would have been a no-no but she was oddly partial to a hat Grin

Useless fact, but a word like bobbles would be a linguistic skeuomorph as it refers to a defunct thing. Rolling down your car window or dialling a phone are other examples.
Yugi · 14/02/2021 22:06

When I was a child we had a massive Tom cat. He would fight dogs, foxes, cars etc and had an ongoing vendetta with the local magpie colony. Passers by would knock on our door to worriedly tell us he was being dive bombed and we would have to explain that he went out to antagonise them on purpose.

His ears were ragged and he was covered in scars.

He was also perfectly content with being dressed up in dolls clothing and pushed around in a pram. In fact, a couple of years after my sister got too old to do that, we caught him being pushed around by our small neighbours wearing a bonnet. Didn’t even look embarrassed.
