To have just bought a cat jumper. For my cat.

I've reached a level of boredom I didn't realise existed. I spent all morning thinking it was Friday. Idly flicking through Amazon and happened across cat jumpers. So bought one for my cat. Just for something to do. I am honestly worried I'm going to lose my mind soon.

Bought a jumper, sleeveless, for my jack russell once during a cold snap. She hated it.

Furries · 12/02/2021 00:54

WTF!

Why on earth does anyone think it’s cute or funny to dress up their pets? I get it in certain situations - such as an pet has had surgery and to stop them getting to the wound. Or for certain breeds (ie a greyhound) that is slim and short haired so needs protection outside in winter months.

But dressing up animals for cuteness or the fun factor is beyond my comprehension, they’re not blooming toys.

My dog probably would accept it, but dogs will generally do anything if there’s grub as a reward.

Hell would I attempt it with my cat, definitely not worth the plotting that would come after.

Pet clothes for medical, practical purposes - no problem at all. For cuteness/owner entertainment/ anything else - not cool.

@Snowymcsnowsony

Our dcat loved his coat!!
Sorry, @Snowymcsnowsony, those are not the eyes of loving it. Those are the eyes of biding his time for revenge....
dentydown · 12/02/2021 06:48

The frivolous purchase I made myself recently was two massive candles. I was questioned by my sons on that one. Oh I also bought baby powder perfume. They think I am losing the plot.

I don’t think you are going to succeed with a cat jumper though.

I knitted a jumper for my granddaughters dog and tried it out on my cat, he was NOT impressed

Boredom has me surfing around amazon and other selling sites. The highlight of my day on Monday was when I found that Poundland sells online. Who knew and didn’t tell me!

My manager would like me to step into his office for a word.

That cat would make an excellent filter for people wanting to lend more gravitas to their zoom presentations. I assume everyone has seen the Texan lawyer kitten? If only he'd had ShinyCat.

Hoppinggreen · 12/02/2021 09:48

Before our cat got too chunky she fitted perfectly into Build a Bear clothes.

Me to your cat: LTB

@Frequentlymisunderstood

I’m worried you will lose a lot of blood attempting to dress a cat! Grin
Yeah... this I gotta see...

I have loads of first aid kits on standby...

Selttan · 12/02/2021 09:58

I bought my cat a tiara for her birthday.

As you can see she was thrilled with it.

So I learnt from my mistake and went with a different option for my other girls birthday.

I am another one who pushed a very docile cat around in a dolls pram. According to my dad he loved it and would sleep in the pram during the week. I never attempted to dress it though, I think that might have been pushing his gentle nature too far. I have my own cats now and wouldn't dare go anywhere near them with cat clothes.
I am very much enjoying the dressed up chickens and cold cats though and am looking forward to seeing the OP's cats.

Pintsizedblondie197 · 12/02/2021 10:19

Can't wait to see the cat in the jumper! 😁

"A tiara??? FFS! What part of 'Dreamies' do these humans not understand?"

SabrinaThwaite · 12/02/2021 10:42

If you’re going to dress up a chicken with arms, maybe a nice set of guns would do the job?

Those arms are just so wrong.
Obviously what you need - as anyone with a vague grasp of the evolution of birds knows - is these:

And then let it loose in Asda?
MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 12/02/2021 10:57

I brought this and didn't even have a cat at the time. Now I have got one, I can't help but feel it was a slight waste of the 20p I spent on it Grin. I think there's just a hint of mis-advertising with the 'Cats Love It' tag line, I mean look at that look of shame Grin

We also printed hands and t-rex arms for some family chickens Blush

@ErrolTheDragon Chickenosaurus obviously!

My chickens, and esp the jumper wearing one are much more suited to raptor or T Rex arms than human ones. The jumper wearing one looks like an american football player in full pads, she is huge and very feisty when it comes to her biscuit

WHERE does one get a cat tiara?? I need one for my toy mouse, who is the actual owner now of all the hats and ties I buy for my cat.

My gentleman is ALL about the gravitas. Urbane, sophisticated. He looks embarrassed if I sometimes catch him playing with a mere TOY.
Selttan · 12/02/2021 11:40

@ShinyMe it's actually for rabbits

I got it from Etsy

Mine has a couple of hats brought all the way from Japan, she is not impressed with them
