Cadburys Flake

Most underrated chocolate bar. Nobody goes, "ooh I really fancy a flake babe, grab me one from the co-op" do they? It's always a Snickers or a Bueno.

But they're the best. Better than all the rest.

Freddos are actually delicious. To me they taste like proper Cadbury's, like how Cadbury's used to taste.

I bought a pack a Kit Kat penguins (or something festiva) before Christmas and they were completely inedible.

StealthRoast · 08/02/2021 03:55

@ifitpleasesandsparkles surely you mean the wonder that is the Spira?

I mentioned it upthread. Nothing came close to that little beauty. We should petition for it like what happened with Wispa’s.

Also as a child I remember flakes were bloody huge. Like a pencil size. Now they’re teeny tiny.

DinosaurDiana · 08/02/2021 07:29

Who remembers the Lion Bar ? 🦁

covetingthepreciousthings · 08/02/2021 07:29

I'd rather have a Ripple

Shoppingwithmother · 08/02/2021 08:07

Who on earth has a Kinder Bueno as their go-to chocolate bar?

Twirl for me - like a flake but better and less messy. I agree Flakes are not what they used to be. I did also love a Dipped Flake though.

No one, that's who.

middleager · 08/02/2021 09:14

@ifitpleasesandsparkles

No, what was the lovely one that was discontinued years back? Twirly inside but solid outside. In a tube shape. I want those and milky bar choos to make a comeback.
Spira. The best Cadbury's bar ever.
FiveNightsAtMummys · 08/02/2021 09:19

I have some flake chocolate desserts, and mini egg ones I'm very excited about the flakes! I love them but hate buying them as my kids like the make a flake snow store and spread a trail everywhere with it. I stick to ripples for them.

Changi · 08/02/2021 09:22

I had never heard of a Bueno before reading this thread,

Yes spira!

They've just brought back salt and vinegar and prawn cocktail quavers, so there's hope yet!

FuckingFabulous · 08/02/2021 11:07

Flakes should be a double bar. Like a kind size twix, but flake.

I like a Galaxy ripple though. I lose less flakiness due to it being covered by solid chocolate

Norah8 · 08/02/2021 11:24

Oh no ilthey used to be lovely now disgusting just like the way a twirl went.
Now the thing they did with a flake in the middle was amazing.. Blue wrapper I forget the name.. Oh yes time out. They were amazing now also disgusting
Lion bar and picnics are the bizz

Pyewhacket · 08/02/2021 11:26

Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles. Totally scrummy.

CounsellorTroi · 08/02/2021 11:50

Does anyone remember Drifter bars? They were yummy. A google shows they are still available in different packaging. Then brown now blue. Daren’t try one would rather keep the memory.

Yes! It was like a pair of thin, smooth Lion Bars. Much easier to eat, and lovely straight from the fridge. I'd forgotten all about them!

Yes! They are amazing. Flakes are too messy but Wispas are fab. Currently eating Swizzels Parma Violets for lunch. So delicious Smile
GherkinsOnToast · 08/02/2021 12:48

Snow flake - I'm not imagining this am I? White flake inside and milk choc outside? Will give a left leg for one to dip in my coffee right now!

It sounds like you have a selection of left legs available to you..?
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 08/02/2021 12:53

Anyone old enough to remember a Cabana?
Never heard of a bueno, twirls all the way here and snickers are the work of the devil.

GherkinsOnToast · 08/02/2021 12:54

@Eckhart - I have children they each have a left leg... Grin

CuntyMcBollocks · 08/02/2021 13:13

They used to be nice before they changed the recipe. I'm not so keen on the crumbly mocklate

Bluesheep8 · 08/02/2021 13:30

Yes! Oh how I loved those
