Cadburys Flake

Most underrated chocolate bar. Nobody goes, "ooh I really fancy a flake babe, grab me one from the co-op" do they? It's always a Snickers or a Bueno.

But they're the best. Better than all the rest.

The Aldi's milk chocolate bars beat them all.

Shelovesamystery · 07/02/2021 21:32

Much prefer a twirl to a flake because of the mess as pp's have said.

Why all the hate for snickers? It's my favourite! My second favourite is happy hippos Blush similar to, but better than a bueno imo. I always pick some up when I'm in poundland, I have to hide them from the kids though Grin

We have gone through a pack of 4 since yesterday!! Love them!

ilovepixie · 07/02/2021 21:33

@FiveGoMadInDorset

A Ripple is much better than a flake
Totally agree
Spaceash · 07/02/2021 21:37

Flakes are too flakey

It's all about the bounty or starbar

Blubbergalore · 07/02/2021 21:37

A Ripple straight from the freezer!

Eckhart · 07/02/2021 21:38

@DeltaFlyer

I like a flake but it's messy.. A twirl on the other hand is the work of a genius. A flake with a coating of extra chocolate
I've always called Twirls a 'safety Flake', because it doesn't end up all down your jumper...
RosesAndHellebores · 07/02/2021 21:38

A flake is perfect and turns a glass bowl of halved, hulled strawberries with a scoop of finest vanilla ice cream into pure heaven the cook may snaffle extra flake whilst in the kitchenGrin

FuzzyPuffling · 07/02/2021 21:39

I mourn the Aztec bar.

CoronaIsWatching · 07/02/2021 21:40

Unfortunately chocolate gives me acid reflux

FADHD · 07/02/2021 21:40

So much wasted chocolate though! Unless you catch it in something and snort it afterwards.

Winterjoy · 07/02/2021 21:41

Ripple all the way Grin

Had a Caramel for the first time in years this week. Was looking forward to the lovely soft caramel but, no, it was rock solid Shock When did they stop being soft and gooey?!

Mind you, last time I had one they came in those folded foil packets so probably about 15 years ago, but even so! Reaffirmed why I usually bypass Cadbury nowadays lol

OllyBJolly · 07/02/2021 21:42

Flakes are not nearly as good as they were! How have you not noticed? Confused. It started when they stopped the lovely twisty wrapping but then the recipe changed and the Flake became some horrible melty sludge.

I used to love them. When I got really rich I would buy the five packs and keep them in the fridge so they were on hand when I wanted. And yes, particularly lovely in the bath.

Eckhart · 07/02/2021 21:42

What I want to know is why Topics always hang around in dusty little corner shops, why they've never been one of the most popular (given that everybody loves roasted hazelnuts) and why are they so bloody small?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/02/2021 21:43

I like a Picnic, I do...

idontlikealdi · 07/02/2021 21:45

Urgh they're all gross palm oil yuck

Eckhart · 07/02/2021 21:46

@LadyMonicaBaddingham

There's WAAAAY too much going on in a Picnic. It's like the chocolate factory had some kind of episode, and made all the bars at the same time. Very confusing in the mouth.

5128gap · 07/02/2021 21:48

Lion bar! Not so busy as a picnic.
But I love a boost.

LadyPoison · 07/02/2021 21:51

They used to be nice. Not anymore

MorganKitten · 07/02/2021 21:53

Try melting a flake in the microwave... they don’t, they can set on fire though.

Eckhart · 07/02/2021 21:54

Does anybody else find that Double Deckers and Lion Bars hurt their mouth? My top and bottom teeth don't meet in time and I end up 'biting' them with the roof of my mouth.

Tubs11 · 07/02/2021 21:55

Yanbu...as long as it comes with a side helping of 99

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 07/02/2021 21:55

Too messy. Was a fan of a snow flake back in the day though, as the milk coating minimized the crumbly wastage. Loved a Mars Delight too and flight wished they would all come back Sad

Spidey66 · 07/02/2021 21:56

Love Flakes. Cadbury still make divine chocolate, I don't care what anyone says.

IdblowJonSnow · 07/02/2021 21:56

Yabu. Too messy. Half of it ends up on the floor! Best in an icecream as the chocolate gods divined.
Ripples are better.
