My daughter stuck her head in my crotch area this evening when we were sat in the sofa, sniffed deeply then went "Agghhhh... Mummma!! You stink! You need to remember to wash your foof!!!"

I was mortified!!! Admittedly, it was day 3/4 of wearing the same jeans! 🙈😂

Luckily I've never had one as an adult, but I still remember one when I was 15 from another girl at school.

We had a non-uniform day (I hated them because my Mum bought us better quality clothes and fewer of them rather than from the fashionable shops others shopped at), and a girl in my year group said to me, 'I like your top'. I was so made up because I felt that I was not as 'cool' as her. She then followed it up with, 'My 5 year old cousin has the same one!' and laughed at me in front of the whole class. I was mortified.

Now of course, I'd say, 'Fuck off Karen (it was her name), I couldn't give a shit what you think!' but at the time it mattered so much to me and it has stayed with me. I bet Karen has never given it a second thought!

IT's made me really want my daughter to reach a point where she is comfortable with herself, so much quicker than I ever did.

Missing the point of your thread but I actually think it was rude of your child to a) put their face in your crotch b) tell you that you're smelly. I think by that age they should know to respect your boundaries.

My children don't say things like that and I'm a bit unfit and not especially glam. But they don't comment negatively on my appearance.

smoothchange · 07/02/2021 14:28

By what age?

smoothchange · 07/02/2021 14:29

Posted too soon..

I just realised that I also assumed an age!

converseandjeans · 07/02/2021 14:30

I thought the child was 4 but just realised that it was day 4. But I think children do need to be aware of boundaries as soon as possible. I wouldn't want my children putting their heads in my crotch at any age tbh!

listsandbudgets · 07/02/2021 14:31

ds went on his zoom class the other day and said "Hi Mr. X I'm sorry I did badly in maths today but I let mum help me and she's really rubbish at maths"... cheers DS goodness knows how many of your friends parents heard that. He's in year 4 by the way so I've got no excuse Blush

flappityflippers1 · 07/02/2021 14:42

My 3 year old DS last week “you’re as big as a whale shark mummy”

I am 31 weeks pregnant tbf but didn’t need an external verification of my whale like size 😭

DalryPlace · 07/02/2021 14:44

Newly divorced I moved towns with my two DC's (away from EXH and OW) . The elder DC aged 7, brought his first new friend to visit.

The friend said to me and my son, "but you are not a real family" and nodding towards me to my son, continued with "SHE isn't a proper mummy, she isn't married".

Gutted at a very vulnerable time.

tatutata · 07/02/2021 14:45

A toddler I was babysitting told her mother when she came home that her tits were too small because mine were all soft and big and comfy Blush

Icequeen01 · 07/02/2021 14:56

We had been to a wedding with my DS who was about 4 I think. He had made friends with another member of the family's little girl who was the same age. We were about to get in the car to drive to the reception when my DS asked if his new friend could travel with us in the car. After checking it was ok with her mum I said "yes, of course she can", to which my DS replied "it's ok, looks like my mum's going to be nice today" 😳

Stovetopespresso · 07/02/2021 15:00

omg I remember telling a school friend when we were both about 7 that her dad had asked my dad to go back to his and watch a 'blue movie', I had no idea what it was and had merely overheard dad telling my mum!

hope she didn't go home and tell her mum Blush

Chocomel · 07/02/2021 15:02

My daughter was about three when she said - mummy, you're not fat or ugly.... Especially not ugly.

Hmm

Got told I needed to ‘do something about your moustache, mum’. Hmm

In my defence, it’s not actually hair, for some reason the skin there got darker not a lot i can do about it!!!

MujeresLibres · 07/02/2021 15:40

Many, many things said to me by kids... The one that really sticks in my mind was said to me by my kids friend on my birthday one year - "you're old and you're going to die soon". Reader, I was 42 Grin

Jesus I wear my jeans for a week at least - it’s not good for the denim to wash them so much.

Anyway, this didn’t happen to me but at a family party once my littlest cousin asked my dad’s cousin why his head was on upside down. He was bald as a coot with a massive beard Grin

exactly, its so bad for clothes and just wasteful management

Me and my bestie bought the exact same jeans in our teens and wore them nearly everyday and she would hot wash them daily and I would cold wash them weekly and hers where faded and distroyed within a few months and mine lasted 5 years still looking fairly new (until a seam ripped ripped because I got chunkier lol).

'You have a pointy nose like a witch.' True enough. Sad

sashh · 07/02/2021 15:47

When I read threads like this I can't believe what some parents will put up with. If my child dared to say anything as rude as some of these, she would be very firmly reprimanded.

Well she will still think it, and as she gets older say it to her friends.

MadameBlobby · 07/02/2021 15:48

@Lalliella

I have a friend who is 70 this year and her DS when a child asked her what it was like to live through 2 world wars!
My son asked me a few years ago if I’d had a birthday card from the Queen. I know I’m not in the first flush of youth but I am still only in my 40s!
CarlottaValdez · 07/02/2021 15:49

DS once said, nose literally pressed against the door to the shower, “I don’t really like looking at your bum”. Maybe F off out my shower then pal.

Ds1 in car ‘you have a hairy face’ I said don’t say that it’s cheeky and dsd yes ds1 she just soft and fluffy 🤪
