Whenever something mildly inconvenient happens: I'm broken. Totally, utterly broken.

don't be mean.

It's already exhausting to be fuming/in a rage, so it doesn't take much to push you over the edge.

5128gap · 10/02/2021 15:28

I am fuming because people who want me to do things are CFs and people who don't want to do things for me are selfish. I'm beyond broken. I'm just.....done.

Just don't spit your drink everywhere Grin

StillCoughingandLaughing · 10/02/2021 15:39

These are the people who are ‘literally crying Sad’ as well. As opposed to figuratively?

Nohomemadecandles · 10/02/2021 15:49

Oxbridge. Nobody uses that if they actually went! I went to Cambridge. Or I went to Oxford. Or I was at (name) college.

My daughter went to Oxbridge - no, she didn't.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 10/02/2021 16:01

not true at all, some do.
They use "Oxbridge" when making a generic comment, they only named their own college when talking about their own experience.

I just spat my drink all over my phone. And by that I mean I sniggered a bit.

As a concept. Not a place.
SparkysMagicPiano · 10/02/2021 17:04

Broken is marginally less irritating that "in bits".

Exhausteddog · 10/02/2021 17:13

If you cant see your child ribs they are probably very overweight and "you have lost sight of what a normal child looks like" and are probably feeding them devil food cereal or sandwiches!!
Both my kids were short and chubby until they were about 5 or 6. Then they grew upwards and now are both shorter than average and on about 25th centile (I can see DS ribs now though) ....most likely because their parents are fairly short and averagely built!

Nohomemadecandles · 10/02/2021 17:16

@Exhausteddog that's because you didn't teach them that they only need to nibble on a sandwich if they've had something hot for lunch. Gawd...

Exhausteddog · 10/02/2021 17:20

Well also their lunch box contents wouldnt pass muster with the average MN. They would more likely pelt me with "cut up peppers and cherry tomatoes" than actually eat them and then call childline

NuniaBeeswax · 10/02/2021 17:23

Typical fatty excuses. I bet you fed your children nothing but cans of coke and greggs sausage rolls. My children have never even heard the word "chocolate".

ZoeTurtle · 10/02/2021 17:41

Broken is marginally less irritating that "in bits".

But neither is as bad as "on my knees." Or "on its knees", inevitable in any thread about the NHS or education system.

Nohomemadecandles · 10/02/2021 18:26

The current sausage thread is making me giggle more than it ought to!

TheLaughingGenome · 10/02/2021 18:30

The sausage thread is GOLD Grin

Exhausteddog · 10/02/2021 18:45

You could play MN food bingo on there!Grin

Pukkatea · 10/02/2021 18:50

@Exhausteddog yes! I barely ate anything as a child and was a big ball of dough. I'm skinny now, literally the same size as I was when I was a 10 year old kid. SOME KIDS ARE CHUBBY.

RoSEbuds6 · 10/02/2021 18:59

The sausage thread is 'unbelievable' I opened it hoping for some MN Gold and I was NOT disappointed Grin

LouJ85 · 10/02/2021 19:01

@CatalinaCasesolver

All of these are fucking bang on and hilarious 😂

I'll add:

Ddog
Dcat
Drabbit
Etc etc

I do NOT understand this. It makes me laugh / cringe every time.

See... I totally get DP/DD etc - because it's shorter and easier than writing "partner" or "daughter".

But Dcat? You've added a letter there, so saved yourself nothing!

🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Nohomemadecandles · 10/02/2021 19:02

We are peaking now with the justification of BMI as to how many sausages is permitted. And the skinny active teenager ratio is at play... it's glorious!

newlabelwriter · 10/02/2021 19:02

Link to sausage thread please :)

newlabelwriter · 10/02/2021 19:07

Thank you, that's my evening sorted
