Shocked at the state of mine.

Clothes in 3 different sizes, summer and winter shoved together, no organisation (though I always attempt it). I thought I had 3 hoodies. I have 6. So much I've bought in sales and never worn.

I actually feel a bit ashamed I have so much, esp considering ive worn leggings and hoodies for a year.

How do I streamline? How many dresses and tops do you all have/loungewear/work stuff? I need to get my shit together

Mine is extremely organised but I’m lucky enough to have other wardrobe space to move clothes around according to season.

At the moment it’s (left to right)
Dresses
Jumpers and cardigans all in colour groups
Jeans and trousers
Skirts
Tops

I have a big drawer with holiday clothes and a shelf for dog walking gear.

I like a tidy wardrobe Smile

Bringonthebloodydrama · 30/01/2021 12:57

Matilda, this sounds like witchcraft. Do you have a clearout often?

HungryHippo20 · 30/01/2021 13:00

Mine is a disaster zone right now too OP. I'm 8 months pregnant living in PJs or leggings and jumpers yet my wardrobe is still full of work clothes which I really should organise and put away. I have my summer stuff in a suitcase and swap it round when the time comes. Right now my unborn baby has a much neater wardrobe than me 😆😆

CrotchBurn · 30/01/2021 13:03

Mine features:

Black and white tops
Black and grey jumpers
Skinny jeans
Wide jeans
Inappropriate dresses
Loungewear

Bringonthebloodydrama · 30/01/2021 13:04

It makes me feel so disorganised. And like I should have a minimal, capsule wardrobe. Does this work?!

Min3 is more like yours Blush

Different sizes and completely messy.

The truth is that at the moment I fit into less than 10% of it. Although I have lost 6lbs so far.

I have vaguely managed to sort it into similar things next to each other but if I need to find a particular item there’s no way with trawling through it!

Fastedbrownie · 30/01/2021 13:06

Mine is fancy smancy, packed full of noice dresses and long slinky squirts...

I then wear the same three pairs of leggings and five same sweatshirts 85% I've had for several years most of the time because I'm a skanky bitch.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 30/01/2021 13:08

About 4 dresses I wear on constant rotation. 2 of them I'll wear as they're comfortable but bloody hell they are frumpy.

Smart dresses for work that I don't wear what with working from home and just hoping I'll still fit into! A few more summer dresses that join the rotation when it gets warmer. Going out dresses that obviously aren't used either. One pair of jeans as I'm an awkward pear shape and they are either too tight or make my arse look even more humongous.

I could really do with an overhaul, but being a short pear with small waist and big thighs and bum online shopping is a disaster!

TheCovidHalfStone · 30/01/2021 13:08

I sort by jumpers, dresses and jeans, and within that I sort by colour. All leggings/t-shirts etc are in baskets underneath. I would get some vac packs for the stuff that doesn’t fit at the moment and put it at the top of the wardrobe.

TheCovidHalfStone · 30/01/2021 13:10

Mumm I have your figure, I love my small waist and at least a pear shape is fashionable now!

MissMarpleDarling · 30/01/2021 13:11

Mines full of stuff all different sizes. Stuff never wear as I'm too fat but hope to fit into one day (I say as I'm eating cake). I only wear the right end that consist of leggings and baggy tops. Maybe the odd dress.

ohtheholidays · 30/01/2021 13:37

Mine is organized.
Mine is sorted out like this.
T-shirts
Cardigans
Jumpers
Skirts
Dresses
Short jackets
Long coats

It goes from casual to every day to evening.

I have my scarfs hung up in my wardrobe as well they're sorted into warm scarfs that I wear outside when it's cold and then the scarfs that I wear to accessorize an outfit.

I also have my bags in my wardrobe and my purses and I have several pairs of shoes(the one's I wear if were going out for a meal or to an ocassion) on a shoe rack inside my wardrobe.

I have 5DC and 1 Grandchild and a very busy life and I love that at least 1 part of my life is just how I like it neat, tidy and organized.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 30/01/2021 13:42

Overfull and everything is black. I can't tell what anything is but it is in an order - trousers, woolly things, skirts, dresses. Drawers and drawers of black band T-shirts etc. Plus leggings. I've got about 15 hoodies/hoodie type things. Sometimes it's like the Fast Show painter chap "blackkkk!!"

Ikora · 30/01/2021 13:51

Clothes in two sizes
The more interesting stuff
A couple of evening dresses from my Uni days so about 22 years old.
An antique silk evening wrap from the 1930’s
Hot pants, suede mini skirt, fake fur mini skirt from my clubbing days
25 gaming t.shirts

Boring but smart office clothes

Combat trousers, jeans, jersey shorts basically lots of casual wear.

A few nice going out items like silk blouses.

I do out my wardrobe and give to the charity shop every year.

RandomWordsandaNumber5 · 30/01/2021 13:55

Winter and summer separate hanging space.
Jumpers/T shirts etc in storage boxes depending on season.
Trousers, dresses, skirts and tops all sorted and hung together.

I make lists too.

Bmidreams · 30/01/2021 13:58

Mine are packed with clothes that fit rather than clothes I like, and the clothes I like don't fit.

Nhsisfucked · 30/01/2021 14:05

Throw out anything that doesn’t fit. If you lose weight you’ll want new stuff. To big stuff means you think you’ll go back there. Get it all out on the bed, all of it! If you don’t love it, get rid! Start a fresh. Organise what is left.
I go:
T-shirts
Long sleeved tops
Shirts
Jumpers from thin to thick.
Jeans
Trousers
Leggings
Dresses
Posh out out stuff goes in spare wardrobe
Work stuff stays separate as I can’t wear work stuff at home, it doesn’t sit right for some reason.

whoamongstus · 30/01/2021 14:05

Oh mine's a state - the built in wardrobes in my house only has shelves, no hanging, so all the annoying things that won't stay folded and should be on hangers just explode everywhere.

So I have four cubbyholes which I'd really tried to organise during lockdown into 'things I actually wear right now' i.e. leggings, mom jeans, dungarees, loungewear, and 'things I wear if I'm going anywhere' so my usual uniform of midi skirts, long sleeve tops, other dungarees.

I don't have a capsule wardrobe as such (not intentionally, anyway) but everything I own is: black, brown/beige, leopard print, black and white stripes. So it all kind of goes together anyway. Every outfit I own starts from: black skinny jeans, black or dark green dungarees, or some form of leopard print midi skirt. And then I just throw a top on/under and some kind of giant cardigan.

ONE DAY I will be an organised person, but it won't be until I can actually hang all my shit up. Grin

whoamongstus · 30/01/2021 14:07

I should add I have two boxes (like the Ikea cubbyhole boxe size) with smart dresses for funerals, work awards dos, weddings etc shoved up in the over-stairs-storage. And under our bed has a drawer full of summery/don't wear often clothes like bikinis, climbing gear, camping gear.

Hailtomyteeth · 30/01/2021 14:08

Fabulous.
Organised into outfits weekly.
'Spare/extra' clothes packed.
All colours co-ordinate - if you're not black or grey, you can't come in.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 30/01/2021 14:09

@TheCovidHalfStone True, just wish clothing suited more, pre covid days I'd take loads of stuff into the changing rooms and end up with 1 or 2 things that fitted properly and looked nice if I was lucky! I can't be arsed with online shopping and the numerous returns it would involve, but that's me being a bit lazy!

MakeWorkYourNewFavourite · 30/01/2021 14:12

I run a charity shop. I scream (inside) if there's a coathanger out of place or someone has messed with the colour coordinated displays. I leave passive aggressive notes.

At home, I live like a pig. People would be shocked. I have a walk in wardrobe... but it's just a big dumping ground. I just stuff, stuff, stuff it. I have piles of "organised" crap all over. A true harder. My sister won't even stay with me.

ToffeePennie · 30/01/2021 14:16

A hodge podge of slob stuff, nicer stuff that I can go out with my mum in (ie she will be seen with me in it), and gorgeous 50s style dresses for going out in.
It’s all on the bedroom floor currently because I am useless at putting laundry away.

Pjsandbaileys · 30/01/2021 14:17

90%of stuff I'm too fat for and the same comfy 5 outfits generally don't make it as far as the wardrobe before they are worn. I'm hoping the next 12m to change things a bit with lifestyle and upgrade on decor and storage.
